He hovered over me, gently dotted the tip of his nose to mine, and whispered, “Come on, lighten up and go out with me. It’s just a lunch between friends.”
I wanted to disagree with him, knowing he desired more than my friendship. Something radical and pulsing within my head told me he longed to wrap his arms around my back, pull me towards him, and drag his lips over me, concocting a sexual and romantic mix between us that would eventually end up having our bodies naked and performing an hour of unlimited and rough sex.
“You’re not as innocent as I thought you were.”
“Innocence is a deception in any relationship. I get off on action and honesty.”
