Y/N'S POV
The next day while Sadie and Enid were at school, I took it upon myself to talk to the wolf's parents so that they could help me find Alice Wilson. It was complicated considering that her disappearance happened several years ago and there was no longer any trace to follow. However, the leaders of the herd proposed to attend a "moon cult" where several herds gathered to pray to the Moon goddess. So the next Sunday the whole family went to a forest with a barbecue area that was overflowing with people, all of them werewolves.
- Sadie: What are we doing here? - she whispered to me - They are all wolves, we are just an easy prey for them.
-Y/N: We have come to look for clues about Alice Wilson, she is a human who fell in love with a werewolf and they created a bond years ago - I looked at her - We need her to help us free Nevermore from hunters.
- Sadie: Oh, okay, I get it. - She was silent for a few seconds before asking again - And what is this place exactly?
-Y/N: A moon cult - I said without facial expression - They come to worship the Moon goddess, don't ask what it is because I have no idea either. Just think that it is simply a Sunday on which humans go to Mass...
-Sadie: Okay - she nodded - We're going to wolf mass - she tried to convince herself.
The whole Sinclair pack sat down on one of the several benches in front of an altar where an older man was standing. I assumed that it was something like a priest, so I just listened and kept company with Enid who was following the sermon attentively. Undoubtedly, the customs of the lycanthropes had nothing to do with those of the Kitsunes. We would never do social gatherings or praise a goddess, but I understood the customs of the blonde and it only remained for me to tolerate and respect them.
-Enid: Well, it's gotten longer than I thought, - she said stretching - Now Dad and mom will start preparing the barbecue together with Avon and Ciro. What are you guys going to do?
-Y/N: We should ask people about Alice Wilson, that was our main goal in coming here - I said observing my surroundings - Do you know all these herds?
- Enid: To the majority, let's approach the one that catches your attention the most-
- Sadie: That one! - she said pointing to a particular girl - I need to know who she is, urgently.
-Y/N: - Both Enid and I averted our gazes in the direction of the girl - Oh Sadie, we have come to solve a serious matter. I don't think it's the right time to flirt - I complained and tried to walk to the opposite side when I heard Enid answering her.
-Enid: It's Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter, from the Carpenter pack - she smiled ladina - If you want I'll make you a quick summary with data that might interest you.
- Sadie: Wait til' I get where to write them down - she took out the mobile and put the notepad - Ready, you can start now.
- Y/N: Is this for real? - I sighed and sat down on the grass when I saw that they were both serious - Great, let's miss the opportunity to get allies. I mean... What does it matter to recover the academy? It's much more important to talk about a girl - I rolled my eyes.
- Enid: Don't be such a grumbler, it's a social gathering - she said animatedly - It's normal to meet people, besides you said you want allies. Right? The Carpenters are a good choice, especially because we already know each other well enough - smiled - For a while my brother Avon and Sabrina were getting to know each other romantically.
-Y/N: I don't see the point in you introducing her to Sadie, then.
- Enid: Buuuut... They broke up because Sabrina never got to be attracted to my oaf brother, she has good taste and she likes women.
- Sadie: Oh yeah! - she took a leap - Do you hear that? It's Sadie Sink signing up for some more.
-Y/N: And what will happen with Millie? - i crossed my arms.
-Sadie: She's miles away, and it's not like we had anything serious and formal like you - she shrugged - We've been in San Francisco for almost a month, I think it's time to unleash the fox in me. So Enid, tell me everything you know about that hottie and I'll go and conquer her.
- Enid: Well, she's the Carpenters' eldest daughter, in fact she's older than us... She's twenty-two years old - she looked at Sadie - From the face you're making I'll deduce that there's no problem with that.
-Sadie: Please, she's a sugar mommy - smirked - It's a joke, don't look at me like that Y/N.
-Enid: She's a Taurus, she's 1.53 m and she sings really well - she smiled - In fact, she's always invited to join the cult choir because her voice is simply the best thing your ears will hear in this life. She is also known for being sociable, likes a good vibe, and is studying fine arts at university.
-Sadie: It feels like you just described the woman of my dreams - she said before starting to walk towards her.
I got up from the lawn and stood next to Enid as we watched the approach between Sink and Carpenter. Enid hadn't mentioned it, maybe she didn't do it on purpose, but she forgot to explain to our dear friend that her crush was a werewolf and that therefore she could blow her up in case she said something crazy. I didn't say anything and just enjoyed how Sadie was thrown meters further by Sabrina, although she later ran out in her direction.
-Y/N: What was that? Do you push her and then go with her?
-Enid: They're measuring their strength, it's a common thing among wolves - she smiled - It's like a game, there's nothing to worry about. Sabrina is sociable...
-Y/N: And your brother is? Because Avon would have killed Sadie a long time ago if he could kill himself with his gaze - I said somewhat nervously - Something gives me that he still hasn't gotten over the fact that Sabrina is attracted to women.
-Enid: A lot of men still don't get over it and that's why they hate us. I mean... It must be hard, apart from competing against other guys to win the love of the girl you like, you have to face the women who are also interested - she looked at me and smiled flirtatiously - And is there anything better than a woman, Y/N?
-Y/N: Not if the woman is you - I said in a choked sigh - Sadie is a good girl, although she still has a long way to mature. I mean, even I still have a lot to learn. Imagine her!
-Enid: You are talking about the person who has to guide you with your kitsune skills, you are aware. Right?
-Y/N: I know, life is full of various meaningless things - I let out a giggle - I know we should be asking about Wilson's daughter, but while Sink is busy... Shall we take a walk and show me the place? I have seen you very attentive following everything the priest dictated.
-Enid: The stories of the Moon goddess are the best - she smiled excitedly - It is said that she was the wolf that originated everything, the one who gave birth to the first lycanthropes.
While Sadie was busy getting to know Sabrina, I took advantage of the moment to walk with Enid holding hands while listening to everything she told me about her customs. I don't know why, but everything, absolutely everything she told me, seemed most interesting to me. It was as if I never had enough information about the blonde, I always wanted to know more and more about her.
-Y/N: - I stood watching her speak for a few moments - I wouldn't want to interrupt you, but... Do you know how absurdly attractive you look right now?
-Enid: - she stopped talking and smiled sheepishly - Are we going to start already? - She hid her face on my neck due to embarrassment - There are a lot of people here, Y/N. Don't say things like that because I lose concentration and the ability to behave as I should.
-Y/N: I just can't help it sometimes - I smiled and looked around - No one is paying attention to us, so don't worry - I wrapped my arms around her waist - Enid, look at me.
Enid pulled her face out of its hiding place and then looked into my eyes just as I had asked her to. I had always liked neutral colors like white, black and gray, and yet I was willing to kill for the blue of the wolf's eyes. At what point had I fallen in love in such a way? From what point did I start seeing her with these eyes? I gave in to the desire to put our lips together and little by little we got closer until we were millimeters apart.
I was about to border on glory when suddenly Enid pushed me away. I growled and thought about killing her if it was the game she had mentioned that lycanthropes made. Luckily it was not a game and unfortunately, little Will had appeared in front of us holding a camera.
- Will: Mommy says to take pictures of you guys to remember the first time Y/N came to the worship - he smiled adoringly.
-Enid: Oh sure, let's take all the pictures you want - she smiled and posed making the peace symbol with her fingers.
I smacked the inside of my cheeks with my tongue and nodded in the direction of Mrs. Sinclair who was watching us from afar. She was a wonderful strategist, she had sent Will to make sure I wasn't trying anything weird with her daughter. Very good move, but she wouldn't be able to have her eyes on us all the time.
