Y/N'S POV
I returned to the academy a little discouraged by the situation I had to face, Enid would go to California and I would go to New Jersey. We could literally say that each one lived in a damn corner of the country, even if I got a driver's license I couldn't go to her whenever I wanted. It would take me more than two days to get to California! Anyway there was nothing I could do, so I went to pack my bags to my room.
- Yoko: Oh no, Y/N... I have very bad news for you - she put her hands on my shoulders and took off her glasses to look me straight in the eyes - I know it's hard and it will be hard for you to accept it, but... We'll stop being roomies for a season - she said dramatically before hugging me.
-Y/N: - I rolled my eyes - Give me one good reason not to end you right now.
-Yoko: Deep down, deep down in that frozen heart - she pointed at my chest - You're going to miss me - she smiled - After all, I've put up with you with your relationship with Enid. You can't complain about how great your roommate is - she said proudly.
-Y/N: - I nodded and sighed - Except for the moments when I have truly wished to end your existence, I would say that you have not been as horrible as I would have expected.
-Yoko: Awww - she pretended to cry and pinched my crotches - Damn tantrum, I love you too - she quickly pulled away - But in friends mode, don't get excited, huh.
-Y/N: Ooouff Yoko, right now your life is in danger - I looked at her menacingly - One, no one touches my skunks. Well, except for Enid - I corrected - Two... How do you think I could get excited about being with someone as annoying as you? !! - I threw a cushion at her - Oh my God, you're like the gossipy little sister I never had - I shook my head.
-Yoko: And you love that, I know - she winked at me - If you miss me or someday need advice about my bestie, you can write to me - she smiled - It won't kill you to socialize with people, don't worry.
-Y/N: I hope I don't have to write to you - I rolled my eyes and took out my suitcase - But hey, you can serve me as entertainment from time to time - I started putting my things away.
When I finished packing my bags and packed my few belongings, it was already around six in the afternoon. I didn't think twice and went to Enid's room to spend as much time as possible with her. Honestly, goodbyes have never hurt or mattered to me, in fact... The events that I used to go to the most together with Wednesdays, were the funerals. Was there a farewell longer than that of death itself? I didn't think it was possible until the time to be with the wolf was getting shorter and shorter, I was going to miss her very much.
- Y/N: Can I go in? - I said knocking on the door - Have you packed your bags yet?
-Wednesday: I finished packing everything this morning, it's you that's running late - she commented from her desk while typing with her old machine.
-Enid: And I've almost almost put it all away too - she smiled slightly as she approached me - Uhm... Do you want to take a walk?
-Y/N: Sure - I nodded - Let's take a walk.
We left her room and headed to the outer gardens of Nevermore, just a few days ago I was shaping those bushes with Mr. Wilson. Taking a look at the last few days, I realized that I had broken my word with the blonde and that I still owed her a proper first date. I turned my gaze from the front to her face, and found her as smiling and animated as ever. How could she maintain that expression almost twenty-four hours a day? If Enid had decided to get mad at me for breaking my promise, I would have understood, and yet... She forgave me everything. Why?
-Y/N: You're going to California tomorrow. Right?
-Enid: - nodded - To San Francisco, and you to New Jersey with Wedns. Right?
-Y/N: Yes - I said listlessly - We'll have the whole damn country separating us, it's very annoying to think that I won't be able to see you often.
-Enid: - she nodded again - We will always have the video calls - she looked at me - Because you will call me, right? - she frowned expectantly.
-Y/N: Of course I will! - I smiled - You will be the first thing I think about every day, and also the last thing before I go to sleep - I craned my nervous neck - Although... Ugh! I'm really sorry about the way things have turned out, in the end I couldn't go to the Raven with you and we also couldn't have our first date officially speaking - I looked at her and realized she was crying - Enid?
-Enid: Calm down, it's okay, it's okay - she quickly wiped away her tears - Wedns always tells me that I'm too emotional, she's right. I should stop being so intense and give less importance to things... - her voice was losing confidence as she was talking - I know it wasn't your fault, not mine either, it was the coincidences of life that didn't let us enjoy what was planned - she smiled - So don't worry about anything, okay? - she kissed my cheek - I know you love me, even if you tell me rarely - she let out a giggle.
Loving her was falling short, it was beyond that. And that was exactly why I wasn't going to allow us to say goodbye with such a bitter taste in my mouth. I didn't think twice and I took her hand before running out forcing her to keep up with me, I had no idea what I was doing, but we were going to have our first date yes or yes. We both ran through the forest, struggling not to lose our balance and fall into the cold snow.
The sun would be setting soon so I wanted to enjoy some fun time with her before I missed the opportunity. We stopped when we reached the top of a small hill that was behind Nevermore, from there you could see the whole academy and the distant lights of Jericho. It was cold and we hadn't prepared anything in advance, it certainly wasn't our first dream date, but it didn't really matter because we were together.
- Enid: What are we doing here? - she asked confused removing the snow from a bank.
-Y/N: Okay... Not to sit down, of course - I said starting to make a snowball - Do you think you could beat me if we started a war? - I smiled burlesquely with my hand ready to throw.
- Enid: Do you really want to compete against a werewolf? - she smiled and hurried to assemble her little ball - Then don't cry to me if my victory stings you - she prepared to throw.
-Y/N: Enid - I said before throwing - If I can hear your laughter and see you smile, that's enough for me - I said throwing the ball and hitting her in the face - Although if I win, it's a bonus - I said funny and I ducked running when I saw her ball - Hey! I wasn't ready.
- Enid: You cheated! - she complained as she brushed the snow off her face - You say nice things to distract me and then attack me, it's not fair play Addams.
-Y/N: I never said it would be - I shrugged my shoulders and gave her a smile - Move fast or I'll hit the target again, you know that marksmanship is my thing - she caught me with my mouth open and I swallowed part of her snowball - Ahhh! - I laughed as I tried to spit it out - I almost choked - I laughed out loud like I've never done before.
- Enid: What were you saying about aim, mhhm? - she said with a victorious pose - Attack me with everything if you dare!
-Y/N: Your wishes are orders, Sinclair - I let out a giggle.
We played for quite a long time until the sun went down and it got dark, that's when I created wisp flames and we sat down on the bench where Enid sat at the beginning. It was so cold that with each exhalation a kind of smoke was formed coming from our lips, luckily we were fine thanks to the will-o'-the-wisp. I rested both hands on the bench and looked up at the night sky, momentarily saddened at the thought that I would not be with her during the next full moon.
-Y/N: In your next transformation I won't be able to be with you - I commented.
-Enid: - she nodded - It will be less special - she looked up at the sky - But well, I'll think about our nights together and try to take it the best I can.
-Y/N: You can call me, no matter what time it is - I smiled - Even if you transform at dawn and then you need to talk to someone, call me. Okay?
-Enid: - she nodded and rested her head on my shoulder - At least we will still share the same sky, not that it comforts me much but I know that when you see the moon, you will think of me - she smiled - Because we love each other from here to the moon and back. Isn't that right?
-Y/N: - I nodded - I will always think of you, and when I feel lonelier than usual, I will look at the bond that unites us and it will pass away - I brought my eyes to her face - The bond will not be broken despite the distance, right? - I asked worried for a moment.
-Enid: - she denied with her face and rejoined looking into my eyes - It will prevail as long as we do it, there is no need to worry - her eyes strayed to my lips - What is the prize for having won you in our snowball war?
-Y/N: I never mentioned any prize, and it hasn't been clear who won either - I leaned towards her face - But we can take the prize for participating - I smiled playfully before placing my lips on hers.
As had been the custom since the first time we got to kiss, every time we felt the touch of our lips the world stopped being world, stopped, did not turn, there was only she and I, me and her. I was surprised by the reaction of my body, so clumsy, so cautious, as if it were the first time. And the fact is that what I felt for the wolf was so intense, so vehement, so strong... That every minimal interaction I had with her seemed to me equal or superior to the first one.
-Y/N: My hands are shaking - I admitted a little embarrassed - I still get nervous when it comes to you, Enid.
-Enid: I know - she smiled shyly - It happens to me too, every time we look at each other, we touch, we hold hands, we kiss, everything, absolutely everything, it feels like it's the first time - she admitted smiling - I'm very nervous right now, you should calm the whirlpool of emotions that you provoke in me - she said before joining our lips again.
