CHAPTER 28
ENID'S POV
I was having a really hard time controlling my animal instinct and not transforming in the middle of the streets of Jericho in broad daylight. I clenched my fists and tried to slow down my breathing as Tyler's bastard came out of the fountain soaking wet. He offered me to walk to the forest so that we could talk calmly and without interruptions. To tell the truth, it seemed like a fantastic idea because if necessary I would face him again without fearing for the safety of other people.
-Enid: Give me a reason why I shouldn't kill you right here - I mumbled - because I swear I still have a lot of war to give.
-Tyler: Yes, the marks on your face speak for themselves - he said in a smug way - Listen to me, I'm not happy to see you again either. And much less after you were the one responsible for my arrest.
- Enid: Then what is the reason for this visit? I have much more important things to do.
-Tyler: I know, you're looking for Wednesday - he clasped his hands - And guess what? I'm the only one who can lead you to her, so calm down and let me talk.
- Enid: Have you gone crazy? !! Do you really think I'm naive enough to trust you? - I stuck out my tongue - I'm leaving before I can't control my impulses anymore.
- Tyler: I understand the fact that you don't trust me, but... Don't you trust Thing either?
I stopped walking and turned slowly to see Thing appear through the leaf litter of the forest. Where had he come from? Was him with Wednesday? Would he know her whereabouts?
- Enid: Thing! - I was glad to see him and ran to him - My God, you don't know how worried I was. Where is Wedns?
-Thing: "She's in danger and she needs your help now. Tyler knows where to find her"
- Enid: Were you serious about trusting him? - I grimaced in disgust - Why would I do that?
- Thing: "Wednesday trusts him... Let's say she's become his owner or something"
- Enid: What about what? !! - I said surprised and saw the boy shrug his shoulders - Wednesday is now your new owner? Why? ! Why?!
-Tyler: And what do I know - he walked towards us - Maybe it's because she killed my old owner or something, what matters is that she's not safe and we have to come as soon as possible - he looked at me seriously - Come on, she's your best friend. I know you would do anything for her, even trust me - she smiled slightly.
I rolled my eyes before I started following the boy through the woods. I was hoping to run into Y/N along the way since maybe she was still out there tracking the others. I also had a good news for her and her research, Tyler and Wedns were together again because she was his new owner. That would save her the hours of reading, and in other words, it meant that she would have more time for myself.
The good vibe I had gotten thinking about how happy Y/N would be to solve the mystery passed me by when I found my friends tied to poles. I ran over to Wedns and started to untie her and take the blindfold off while Tyler did the same to the others. To be honest, Wedns always looked bad, but at that moment she really looked like she was about to die.
-Tyler: They are unconscious, something heavy must have happened - he said seriously - How is Wednesday?
- Enid: Don't act worried! - I growled at him - A few months ago you tried to kill her.
- Tyler: So you're one of those people who live in the past... - he sighed - Look, we'll have to collaborate whether you like it or not. There is something out there that has been able to finish off Wednesday Addams herself, the most normal thing is that we join forces and try to protect her.
-Enid: I have to think about allying myself with you - I looked around - The first thing I have to do is find Y/N... She was really worried and she will be relieved to know that we have already found them.
My eyes opened like saucers the moment Thing appeared dragging a white sweater with ears on the hood. I quickly took it in my hands and sniffed it, without a doubt it belonged to Y/N. My skin bristled at the thought of different scenarios, none with a good ending. I started to search all over the clearing without finding any other indication of my girl beyond some fox tracks. Why had she been transformed?
-Thing: "Now the one that has disappeared is Y/N... What are we going to do? Wednesday is not in a position to go out to look for her, none of them are," - she said pointing to Xavier and the other two girls.
- Enid: What the hell happened here? - i sat next to Wedns unconscious body and without realizing it I started crying - Y/N... Where are you? - i squeezed the sweater in my hands and looked at Thing - Won't you believe that she...
-Thing: "Y/N is an Addams, she probably managed to get out of this unscathed" - he tried to cheer me up - "I think we should take everyone to the academy infirmary for now, they need to rest"
-Tyler: You've heard, well seen - he corrected himself - What? Thing is communicated through gestures - he shrugged his shoulders.
-Enid: I'm not in a position to put up with your fucking jokes, Tyler - I pulled out my claws - My best friends have been attacked for you know what, and the person I love the most has disappeared after leaving signs of a fight. Do you really think I'm up for your nonsense? !! - I yelled at him.
-Thing: "Calm down, everything will be fine" - he tugged on the sleeve of my jacket - "Let's get Wednesday safe and then let's focus on looking for Y/N. Okay?"
I had no choice but to accept the situation and return to Nevermore so that I could heal the wounds of my friends as soon as possible. When we arrived, we were interrogated for a long time by Director Duncan, and when I say "we went", I mean Thing and me since Tyler had to stay hidden because of a restraining order. Director Duncan asked me absurd questions that I didn't understand how they would help with the situation, total to end up saying that they had probably been attacked by a bear.Sure it had all the sense in the world, a bear in half a village.
When I was able to retire to my room I found Brooke in the hallway, someone I didn't really feel like talking to sincerely either. However that was not my day and Duncan junior stopped me for a chat.
-Brooke: I've heard what happened to Wednesday and the rest, it must have been horrible - she sighed - I don't even want to imagine the bad time must have had Y/N.
-Enid: - I nodded - We still don't know what happened to them, but we will definitely find the culprit and make him pay for it - I said seriously.
- Brooke: By the way... Where is Y/N? I would like to talk to her so that she knows that she is counting on me for whatever she needs at this delicate moment - she smiled slightly.
How could I tell that traitor that Y/N was missing? I couldn't do it, it hurted too much. Just imagining different problems that could be happening to her made me want to cry. I've never felt like this before, so helpless and anxious about not being in control of the situation.
-Enid: Y/N it's okay, that's what I'll take care of - I lied.
- Brooke: Wow, that was quite cutting - she let out a giggle - I didn't know you were from Team Toxic.
-Enid: And I didn't know that you were more fake than the Monopoly bills - I countered.
- Brooke: What the hell do you mean? - she frowned offended - I thought we were friends.
-Enid: I thought so too before you proposed to Y/N... - I sighed - You knew I liked her! - I reproached her - Why did you go after her?
- Brooke: Because I have also seen how wonderful she is - she smiled - And in love there are no friendships, it was obvious that I was going to put my feelings before yours. I want to be happy with her too!
- Enid: Ha, well keep on wanting - I said opening my bedroom door - Y/N wants me - I slammed the door angrily.
