Y/N'S POV
I fell silent after Enid's question. I was stuck in the blue of her eyes for a long time until I looked down at our intertwined hands. What did she mean by being closer? She was already sufficiently immersed in my personal space. I looked around and when I was sure that no one was there, I grabbed his hand more tightly.
-Y/N: I don't mind if instead of giving us the pinky now we give each other the whole hand - I said looking into her eyes again.
-Enid: - she smiled and nodded - Well, I guess that's progress.
-Y/N: - We started walking towards Ophelia Hall - I'll be waiting for you early tomorrow to go to Jericho and meet Brooke. We'll finally have some information about the Hydes and we can start moving on Wenny's secret.
-Enid: - she nodded - Perfect, I'll make sure to set the alarm clock and not keep you waiting - she smiled and suddenly we started to hear a cello - Ah, that's Wedns. On second thought, I think the alarm clock won't be necessary... While she's there, I'll wake up early to the stormy sound of her typewriter.
-Y/N: - I let out a giggle - It's good that she's already in her room, that means she's entered through the other entrance and she hasn't seen us.
We said goodbye in the hallway before each of us went into our respective room. Inside I was still thinking about Enid's question and how I hadn't been able to give her an answer. Why didn't anyone warn me of the emotions I was going to experience in this place? I had never done anything like what I was doing with Enid, so the doubts were constant inside me. Not to mention, the only time I've been able to create real fire has been to save her.
I woke up with the first rays of the sun at dawn and sneaked up to my cousin's room making sure not to make a noise with the door. I thought Wenny was still sleeping so I slowly approached the wolf's bed. It had occurred to me that if we left early, maybe it would give us time to have breakfast together before going to Brooke's house. Would a breakfast be enough to make up for the bad night we had?
-Wednesday: Enid is in the bathroom - she said coming in from her terrace - Why are you looking at me like that? I know you haven't come to see me, there's no need to make any excuses.
-Y/N: I thought you were sleeping - I pointed to the lumps on his bed.
-Wednesday: That's Thing with several cushions, I like that it looks like there's a corpse on my bed - she said sitting down in her desk chair - And good... Where are you going so early? I think it's a bit exaggerated to meet at this time for an appointment. And I think it's even worse that you're going on a date just the day after her breakup with Ajax - she smiled slightly - You have no compassion, cousin.
-Y/N: It's not about any da-
- Enid: What are you doing here? !! - she said appearing with a face mask - You could have warned me that Y/N was here! - she ran back to the bathroom.
I looked at my cousin looking for some explanation for her roommate's strange behavior, but she just shrugged. I sat on Enid's bed and waited for the wolf to come out of the bathroom ready for our getaway to the town. While I was waiting, I was invaded by the scent of the blonde and I traveled back in time to that night when I slept next to her. Why was I thinking about that? And why did I feel so much peace when I remembered that moment? Okay, maybe it wasn't as unpleasant as I made it out to be...
- Enid: I'm done! - she said running towards me - Good morning! - she smiled.
-Y/N: Good morning - I got up from her bed - It stinks of your perfume - I pointed with my head to her bed yet to be made - But I don't find it as repulsive as at first.
-Enid: Oh, well I guess it's normal considering I spend a lot of the time lying there - I pictured her sleeping tenderly and I couldn't look at her face - Y/N? I'm talking to you.
-Y/N: Sorry, I got distracted for a moment - I looked into her eyes - What were you saying?
-Enid: I knew we were going to meet soon, but I didn't think it would be right at dawn... It was embarrassing that you saw me with the mask on.
-Y/N: No, I don't think there's any color that doesn't flatter you - I pressed my lips together - The green of that face mask reminds me of the green of forest moss, so it was bearable to the eye.
-Wednesday: She just paid you a compliment, little wolf - Wenny added from her desk.
-Enid: - she smiled - Thanks Y/N, you look cute too - she winked at me.
-Y/N: I came early so we can have breakfast together, so let's not waste time and let's leave already - I left the room at the speed of light because suddenly I felt a strange heat spreading all over my face.
- Enid: I'm leaving, Wends... Don't miss me - she smiled at my cousin - Do you need us to bring you something?
- Wednesday: As long as you don't be so cloying in front of me again, that's enough for me - she said concentrating on her writing.
We left for Jericho in the car driven by "Lurch" who was always at our disposal to take us wherever we needed. Once there, we said goodbye to him and went to a cafe to have breakfast as previously planned. Enid was strangely happy, but the more I looked at her, the more obvious it became that she was really nervous.
- Y/N: Are you okay? You look nervous - I commented as I opened the door of the establishment for her.
-Enid: I just feel a little guilty for being here just the day after broke up with Ajax... It's as if what we had meant nothing - she looked at me and smiled in a way that seemed extremely sad to me - Although that doesn't mean that I'm not extremely excited about our date.
-Y/N: Our what? - I looked at her confused as she took a seat.
- Enid: Uhm... Aren't we having a date? - her expression changed from a flirtatious one to a more serious one in seconds - I thought this was a date having breakfast together before we met with the girl from the books - her claws came out unintentionally - Sorry, sorry if I misunderstood this - she said nervously putting away her claws and with a tone of disappointment.
-Y/N: Enid - I managed to get her to look at me - I've never had a date, I don't know how they are - I said with a serious expression - I'm sorry if you had expectations when I invited you to breakfast, I just wanted to make up for the bad time last night.
- Enid: Have you never dated anyone? - she said surprised when she saw me shaking my head - But look at you... How is it possible that you have never had a date? If you are very attractive!
-Y/N: - I couldn't help myself and smiled - Thank you... I guess. The circumstances never happened and that's why romance is something I've never experienced.
-Enid: That explains a lot of things - she said almost in a whisper - Well, don't worry. I guess there are people who need a much slower pace - she smiled - We don't need to run. Let's just enjoy breakfast for the moment. Okay?
-Y/N: Of course - I said without understanding much of what I had said - Order whatever you want, today is on me. All right?
- Enid: - Her ears popped out and her tail started wagging like a dog - Great! - she said excitedly before noticing his wolf-like features entering the scene - Ooops... It has happened again.
-Y/N: - I let out a giggle while resting my face on one hand and with the other I was approaching Enid's face to touch one of her ears with a finger - I don't dislike it when you get like that.
-Enid: - she blushed and covered her face with the menu - If you don't stop doing that kind of thing, I won't be able to hide my ears and tail - she said nervously.
-Y/N: What things? - I asked confused as I pushed the menu away from her face slowly.
- Enid: Oh Y/N... - she leaned his head on his arms on the table and for a moment I could have sworn to see smoke coming out of his head - Order you first, now I have to recover.
