Chapter 44

A figure in a tan striped shirt and gray pants was standing in a fighting area with his eyes closed. Above him was a flat digital screen that was counting down. As it reached all 0's he opened his eyes.

'What's going on? Where am I? The last thing I remember is..'

"Mellow!! Where are you?!"

Looking around frantically, the boy searched around but found no one. Suddenly a screen appeared in front of him. After reading the words on it, the boy calmed down.

"That's right, they already took him, and I couldn't even save my little brother from those bastards. Then they whisked me away and everything else I am blanking on."

As if waiting for him to be calm and rational, a new screen appeared in front of him.

[Welcome 'Lich' To The Fighting Arena. You Have Been Chosen As The "Big Bad" And Must Face Every One And Defeat Them. Lose And Be Replaced. Win And Continue To Win And You Shall Gain More Than You Could Imagine.]

"So not only was my name changed to my dream job, I have to be the bad guy. Also I am not stupid, the only thing I got awarded was going first. I have to fight who knows how many enemies and then get nothing from it. Gain more than I can imagine? But no mission reward means I won't be given anything."

[Now Select Your Laws For Your Stats. After Reaching The SSS Server The Laws Will Be Used To Determine Your Racial Abilities And Be A New Race.]

A new screen filled with the 1000 Paths formed in front of Lich. Along with the 10 Stats on another screen.

After a bit of thinking, Lich decided how to split up the stats.

[Access To First 10 Of Each Stat Has Been Granted]

[Defeat All 1000 Enemies. Reward: Access To Next 10 Stat Paths.]

"Well I guess since I don't remember doing anything this power is a reward enough. So I have to kill 1000 people just to get the next ones? How much hard work did I miss to equal that?"

Lich decided to see what he has access at the moment.

[Stat Intelligence: This Stat Has Influence Over All Mental Type Skills. Energy Used is MP. Total MP = INT Score x Paths In Stat. Total MP Is 50.]

City Hall- Allows User To Use Buildings Under Stat.

Bath House- Full Fatigue Restore(Cost Is 5MP).

Graveyard- Allows User To Store Bodies.

Hospital- Fully Restore HP(Cost Is 5MP).

Coffee Shop- Fully Restores SP(Cost Is 5MP).

Public Square- Redirects Mental Intruders To This Space.

Memorial- Protect Soul And Redirect To Your Mental Space.

Obelisk- Fully Restores Summon Uses(Cost Is 5MP).

Pyramid- Fully Restores MP(Cost Is 5MP).

Embassy- Allow Entrance And Exiting Of Mental Space(Cost Is 5MP).]

Before his family sold him and his siblings, Lich's favorite pastime was reading about Paths and Laws. He always wanted to be strong like these people in his books. He came across books that included secret tips and tricks.

Like when certain paths are used as the starting Laws it allows you to do things that would normally be given an error. In his readings he saw many different Systems and different ways that the Path and Laws were combined.

Luckily one of his favorite ways happened to be what he got to use, and he knew he would be hard to beat. Though he felt bad about being cheap and having the Pyramid, he had to fight 1000 people so he was not going to hold back any punches.

Then he looked towards his Dexterity Paths.

[Stat Dexterity: This Stat Has Influence Over Your Ranged Attacks. Energy Used Is Focus.Total Focus = DEX Score x Paths In Stat. Total Focus Is 50.]

[Paths:

Handgun- Form Of Weapon, DEX= Bullets Before Reload(5). (Reload By Spinning Cylinder 5sec.)

Cannon- Direct Damage To Durability Of Target Before Damage To HP.

Rifle- Increased Range.

Executioner- Increased Damage To Head.

Leviathan- Cut Scene Attack Every 1 minute.

Mutant:Archer- Control Bullet.

Brick- Status Effect:Dizzy, Only Activates For Head Shot.

Knock Back- Launches Target Backwards.

Void- Causes An Imploding Black Hole That Deals Damage Equal To Original Attack.

Punk- Causes Intimidation When Pointed At Target. Target's Reaction Is Delayed.]

"Just in case I have to fight without a break between, I can make sure I will be able to end a fight in a minute and not use to much energy. Then again I can always just heal everything about myself so maybe I just wanted a gun that is broken beyond reason."

Lich made a gun that would make the First Lich proud. His weapon that me made will only get negative reactions of his enemies. No matter how strong they are if they survive the head shot, they will only wish they didn't as Lich can fire it 4 more times though it won't have the cut scene effect.

Then Lich moved onto the Defense Stat, which he was supposed to make a piece of equipment to defend himself with.

[Stat Defense: This Stat Has Influence Over Your Durability Of Equipment. The Durability Is Labeled as Durability Points or DP .Total DP = DEF Score x Paths In Stat. Total DP Is 50.]

[Paths:

Belt- Form Of Equipment.

Scorpion- Adds Scorpion Tail Attack.

Infinite Speed(Friend Path)- Allows User To Auto Make A Move Before Enemy. (Costs 5DP).

Poison- Adds Poison Element To Belt. Causes Poison.

Spike- Adds Spikes To Belt.

Lightning- Adds Lightning To Belt. Causes Shock And DMG To Targets Durability.

Whip- Adds Length To Attack. Adds New Form.

Necklace- Adds Auto Activate. Adds New Form.

Tendril- After Attack Pierces Can Wrap And Entangle Target.

Pestilence(Friend Path) - Allows Attack To Split Into The Total Number Of Defense Score (5). (Cost 5DP)]

Though adding some of the Paths to a belt felt like a waste to Lich, he still knew it had to be done.

"I could of made a piece of armor or a shield, this belt will protect me in an offensive way. If someone sneaks up on me, I can pierce them with my tail and use it to wrap up their limbs and neck, then shoot them and win."

Then Lich moved onto his Strength Stat. Though he could of made a weapon here, he made a pair of terrifying gloves instead.

[Stat Strength: This Stat Has Influence Over Your Damage Dealt. The Strength Energy Is Labeled as Action Points or AP .Total AP = STR Score x Paths In Stat. Total AP Is 50.]

Gloves- Form Of Weapon

Punch- Attack Skill. (Cost 5AP)

Uppercut- Attack Skill. Knock Up. (Cost 5AP).

Drill- Form Of Skill. Adds Drilling Attack. (Dealt Every Second).

Whirlpool- Increase Spinning Speed Of Attack.

Dryer- Increase Spinning Speed Of Attack. Adds Heat.

Washer- Increase Spinning Speed Of Attack. Increase Liquid Volume.

Wind- Adds Wind Element To Attack. Increase Spinning Speed Of Attack.

Acid- Adds Acid Element To Attack.(Dmg To Durability).

Rapid Fire Gun- Skill Modifier. 5 Ranged Quick Shots. Shots Can Stack.(Cost 5AP)(Must Be Used Along With Other Skill).]

The spinning force of the attack the gloves can do is terrifying. That is why besides using the Rapid Fire ability of the weapon, the ability only activates when his fist makes contact. Lich could hurt himself if he tried using the skill just standing there.

Lich then moved onto his Speed Stat. He decided to make a combination that would be good on land. Though he won't have a good set for reacting in the air or water, he had to make do with what he can.

[Paths:

Land Form- Allows Shape Shifting Between Bi-Pedal and Quad-Pedal. In Quad-Pedal Form You Move Faster.(Decrease movement In Air and Water Unless Those Forms Are Used In Conjunction.)

Horse- Increase Movement In A Straight Movement.

Cat- Allows User To Ponce.(No Air Restriction) (Cost 5SP).

Movement- Allows User To Dodge.(Cost 5SP).

Parkour- Increase Jumping Distance And Traversing Obstacles.

Ball- Increase Jumping Height And Lets User Bounce.(Increased Speed And Movement)(Costs 5SP).

Spider- Can Climb Verticals With No Penalties.

Gravity- Control The Gravity On And Around User.

Hot Coffee- Increase Reaction.

Espresso- Increase Reaction.]

"Though it is a bit redundant with two drinks that just stack reaction times, it is better than not having it. Though now I will be extremely jittery. But I am bound to run into those who have a 10 in Speed and they will be able to make two moves in the time it would normally take to make one. But if I can react to them I can just stab them with my scorpion tail and hold them long enough to kill them."

Lich moved on to his Wisdom Stat.
