Emmeline arrived with Dr. Bedwick and she was distressed when told about Michael's condition.
"Why nobody told me this before?" She asked, running to her son's bed.
"I'm sorry, we didn't want to disturb you." Louisa answered, in a low voice.
"He is my son. I had to be by his side, Louisa!"
"I know. But if anything happened.. I was taking care of him and he is much better now. You can help with him."
"I will, most definitely." Emmeline was furious, but she knew why she was not informed. Of course, why would they give her such new when not long ago she was losing her mind over her husband's passing? They probably feared she would get sick, again. "I know you meant well, Louisa."
The blond young woman looked at her Aunt, surprised and relieved, and nodded. She feared that Emmeline would fall ill again, even by the stress of Michael's condition.
"We will take care of him, together. And the doctor here will help us, right?" Louisa looked at him and he smiled back at her.
