Chapter 46:Gray 2

In the middle of a vast ash-gray plain and a pure white western mansion can be seen in the distance, space seems to break before two people appear in this strange place. 

"I did it, I did it, I'm a genius! By the way, Seriously, your biggest fear is your house?"

Hopping on one foot as if he had won the lottery. A little blonde-haired, blue-eyed, fox-tailed boy starts yelling into the air before stopping to ask the only other person here. 

"What else did you want? I've never lacked for anything, if I wanted something I could easily get it by waving my hand and other minor fears like arithmetic or Portuguese I'm sure don't count."

"That explains the monotone colors, the perfect distances between all things and the opulence of this place. Umm... with none of this I can give you traumas, let's fight until you defeat me and set yourself free. Lunar form:Half moon"

Christopher/Asahiko pov. 

His movements were perfect, when I say perfect, it's because they are a perfect imitation of mine, which I don't like at all. Ignoring the little twitch my eye unconsciously made when I saw this imitation, I zigzagged between the crescent shaped leaves and as I got closer I hit him in the belly with my closed fan.

*Boom*

It was like hitting a piece of iron, not literally it was hitting a piece of iron. For at some point during my attack, a replica of Clouded Fang magically appeared in his hand and with it he defended himself from my attack. But even with his quick reaction, he was launched like a kite into the air and without letting me take a breath I followed up with a flame throw there. 

"Wow I was hoping for a little mercy, we've known each other for... a few minutes? Well, it's not like you're interested in the people around here, will it be indifference or can you even consider them equal to you?"

"Friends don't judge each other's state of mind."

Laughing under my breath for following the stupidity of this imitation, I slightly widen my eyes as I see him use Clouded Fang to easily cut my flames and without even giving me time, he launches a slash of energy towards my direction. 

Due to the surprise, I could only roll on the ground in an attempt to dodge his attack and I barely made it by the skin of my teeth. Quickly getting up from the ground, I stow my fan inside my clothes and draw Clouded Fang. 

"How scary!

"You're unbearable!"

Ignoring his clear exaggeration that even went so far as to ruffle the hairs on his single tail, he tightened his grip and advanced quickly so as to draw him into hand-to-hand combat. 

*Shingg* *Shingg* *Shingg* *Shingg* *Shingg*

Dodging aside the slash of reddish energy fired by his imitation Cloud Fang, I quickly give him a wide slash to the head, though he dodges it easily, before catching my arm with his single tail and punching me in the face with his free hand.

Letting his fist push my face to the side, I reaffirm my stance, open the hand holding Cloud Fang and with the same I grab his single tail, then in a show of force I slam him to the ground. 

*¡Boom!*

A large amount of dust, grass and dirt is expelled upwards briefly covering my sight, but that doesn't stop me from hitting it against the ground continuously. Finishing unloading all the evil inside of me, I pull even harder on his tail and launch him skyward, then leap after him before bringing my tails together to give him a huge punch. 

*Boooom*

"You're still alive?"

"And kicking!"

"Tsh, just die already!"

"Hey, that's cruel. Me here thinking we had a special connection, you know like Kikyo's? Yeah, not the best example of that give and take relationship you two have." 

Emerging from the rubble of the western type mansion, the impersonator is full of holes everywhere, almost like it's slowly crumbling. 

"Come on. Let's keep going all the way!"

"This time seriously will be the last!"

3rd person pov. 

Sitting on the branches of a towering tree that has no leaves, wide roots escaping from the dark brown trunk and sitting in a secluded area of the forest. Kikyo frowns slightly as if she is seeing something unpleasant or maybe it was because she couldn't see anything. On another branch leans Naraku, who is wearing a cloak made of white baboon fur that covers his entire body except for his head and hands. 

"Observe the scenario I have prepared specifically for you, Kikyo. Your beloved Inuyasha, his friends and even your reincarnation, all gathered in one place."

Speaking as if he has this situation under his absolute control, Naraku gives Kikyo a quick glance before focusing his red eyes deep into the forest as if searching for something. 

"Looks like we're in luck, the pearl shards have prevented your reincarnation from falling into illusions, though that doesn't apply to your companion the…"

With a soft pink flash coming from Kikyo's palm, the Naraku sitting on the branch is split in half, leaving a small wooden dummy in its place. Ignoring that situation, Kikyo grabs the bow next to her and places an arrow before aiming towards where the sounds of erratic footsteps can be heard.

"Kikyo, we've come to save you!"

Appearing from deep in the forest while holding an arrow in her hand as a weapon, Kagome the schoolgirl and reincarnation of Kikyo appears on the scene with a rather dark face, though it brightens as she sees Kikyo on the tree in front of her. 

"How unexpected... I certainly expected this behavior from Inuyasha, but from you I hadn't seen it coming."

"You helped Inuyasha, of course..."

Perhaps not catching the cynical way Kikyo speaks and her smile of the same style, Kagome's face becomes determined as she says a few words about what had happened in the cave, though before she manages to finish she is interrupted by an arrow grazing her right cheek before continuing on to hit the ground behind her.

"Kikyo..., haaa!"

Pronouncing Kikyo's name as if she doesn't understand what's going on and without being able to finish expressing herself completely, the surroundings of the arrow's impact site start to glow pink as if something was destroyed and in a few moments Kagome falls straight into the hole, though she thinks fast and manages to grab hold of one of the roots emerging from deep inside the nearby tree thus stopping her fall. 

"I don't understand why Naraku bothered to prepare for this situation, your spiritual power is almost nil and your bow skill follows suit, though maybe I'm not such an idiot."

Approaching the edge of the hole the schoolgirl just fell through, Kikyo looks down as she extends a hand, causing a few shikigamis to tangle around Kagome's body and lift her up to eye level easily before she begins to speak. 

"You have a fragment of the pearl embedded in your body!"

With the shout of surprise coming from Kagome, calmly and ignoring the surprise written all over Kagome's face, Kikyo extends her hand towards her chest causing a shard to manifest, though instead of spreading a pink aura as is natural, this shard has a more dark reddish aura to it, causing that color to reflect over Kikyo's face momentarily.
