CHAPTER 28: I won't do it

"Wait," Louis called after him just as he was about to leave.

"What," Al asked.

"Who is it?" Louis asked.

"Who's what?"

"You just said you can't marry the lady."

"Yeah," Al responded with a raised eyebrow.

"But you didn't tell me who you've chosen," Louis added.

"What...."

"Yeah, since you said you can't marry that girl I figured you've already gotten someone, but here you are going without telling me who you have in mind." Louis finished the sentence and Butler Sam could not hold the laughter. Looking at Alaric's horrified face made everything worse for him.

"So this the lady you've found.?"

"I've not found anyone. I just told you I don't want to get married."

"To that girl...don't forget to add that part."

Louis smiled.

"You knew that was not what I was talking about." Al snapped.

"But that's what you said anyways." Louis reminded him.

"Don't be unreasonable old man," Al said coldly.

"So you knew I was unreasonable yet you came to me to get rid of your problem."

"You have disgraced me enough already. So I agree with Austin when he says we should put an end to this. At least with this, you will have a public image to protect so if you go on your adventures you will be careful of the outcome."

"How could I have expected anything different from you? Am sure you are happy with this."

"Of course I am. Which parent won't be happy when his son decides to settle down."

"Then don't decide on this." Al defended.

"We couldn't trust you to decide since everything showed you cannot think. Therefore we will think for you."

"I won't do it."

"I knew you will say this that's why you don't have a say in this. We can't allow you to put everyone close to you in danger. This act of yours is putting us in indirect danger if you can't see it."

"So excuse me to say but you have no say in this," Louis said angrily.

"Calm down." Butler Sam advised him.

After a few minutes of silence, he stood up from the chair and walked close to his son. He patted his shoulder.

"Let the last go, son." He took a deep breath.

"The past you are holding on to is doing more harm than good. It's harming everyone close to you now. Your mon left you so what? Despite that fact, there are still people here who love care, and support you. Wake up now before it's too late. " Louis said calmly and went back to his seat.

"Excuse me," Al said and made his way out. He saw Jules standing right by the door when he stepped out.

"Sorry I didn't mean to eavesdrop on your conversation." She apologized.

This time Al did not mind her. He went straight to his bedroom.

He laid down on the bed thinking. Although his father's words hit him, he couldn't possibly bring himself to marry Melissa.

He laid down thinking of a solution but nothing came to mind. He then stood up took a quick shower and went out without telling anyone his whereabouts.

He drove like he was being chased after. Sooner or later he arrived at the club, this time it was not the usual one he's been going to with Austin. He stepped out of the car and intentionally left his phone in the car to avoid any disturbance.
