Chapter 71: The Lost Tea Set

After saying their goodbyes to Ishii, the trio headed westward, following Ishii's map and checking signs along the way. It took some time, but they eventually exited the city.
Nearby was the food production facility, but they chose not to detour there. Instead, they drove towards another city faintly visible on the horizon.
Hoping to find support pillars there, they were disappointed upon reaching the city as no such structures were in sight.
The three of them decided to take a rest here and search for some supplies. Chito stopped the car and the three of them sat on the platform next to them and ate food.
Although the three of wanted to place down the renovated cabin, they were just taking a short break. After a while, they won't need that yet.
After resting, the three of them searched for supplies in the building on one side.
As they explored the damaged buildings, the trio found cracks and gaps in the walls and steps, making their search more challenging.
"Chii-chan, is there really anything usable here? It looks very dangerous." Senju expressed doubts about whether there is anything here. According to his opinion, the current supplies are enough.
(T/L: More than enough, you got unlimited water, plants(trees and the wheat + taro) and even got meat!(beef). The three of you are set for life!)
"Well, no problem. The main body of this building is not damaged yet. I want to see what else is inside," Chito moved a steel bar blocking the road and went to the upper floor.
After the two of them followed her to this floor, and began to search the surrounding rooms, but after looking at the empty rooms for a few times, Yuuri sighed, "There is nothing."
"No, there should be something else here," Chito saw a half-open door, and three of them came over and opened the door.
The things inside were in front of the trio's eyes. It didn't seem like someone had lived in it. There were no common furniture and faucets.
Instead, there were some broken boxes and packaging bags scattered everywhere, and there was a rusty box lying on the ground. The shelf was twisted into a strange shape.
The three of them carefully rummaged inside, hoping to find something useful in the pile of junk.
After a while, Yuuri stood excitedly beside an iron box and exclaimed, "Look, everyone, there are more here. It's a complete box."
"Really?" Chito also noticed it, but the box appeared to be locked. Despite their attempts, the three of them couldn't open it. Impatiently, Yuuri took out her gun.
"Everyone, step back and let me open it," Yuuri said, ready to use her gun, but Chito pulled her to the side.
"Idiot, don't shoot recklessly. What if the bullet bounces back?"
"But I want to know what's in it."
"Yuuri, stop it. Chii-chan is right, and I have a way to open it." After Senju said that, he took out a lever and put it on the ground next to the box.
After pulling it, the box opened, revealing several well-preserved items inside.
(T/L: Goddamn! Imagine in real life, a criminal opening a super highly-advanced bank vault with just a lever! That would be hilarious XD.)
"What is it?" Yuuri happily retrieved the iron box without a lock. She effortlessly opened it to find a set of white utensils neatly arranged inside.
"What on earth is this?" Chito examined one closely. "It's neither metal nor glass."
"These are ceramic teacups," Senju explained, holding one. "It's a tea set for drinking tea."
"Ceramics? Tea?" The two of them looked confused, unfamiliar with these.
"Let me see...Yes! I have it." Senju located a cylinder on the side of the iron box.
Upon carefully twisting it open, he revealed a pack of tea leaves securely packaged.
The leaves appeared well-preserved, indicating advanced processing and preservation techniques.
As Senju opened the package, the fragrant aroma of tea wafted out. "This is tea."
"Are these black things tea? Can this be eaten?" Yuuri, driven by curiosity, sampled some and promptly stuffed it into her mouth.
"Ahh! It's so bitter! Give me some water." Overwhelmed by the bitterness, Yuuri rushed to the side to rinse her mouth.
"Yuuri is quite impatient. Tea isn't meant to be consumed like that," Senju remarked as he packed the tea back into the iron box.
"Will Yuu be okay, Senju?" Chito observed Yuuri with a hint of concern.
"She'll be fine. The tea leaves are for brewing and drinking. I'll prepare a proper brew for you to taste this evening." Senju stowed away the tin box. "Now, let's see what's inside."
Opening the second iron box, Chito recognized its contents. "This is a glass cup, similar in shape to the one before. There's also a cylinder here."
"Let me take a look," Yuuri returned, holding the glass cup. She examined it, exclaiming, "It's so beautiful."
"This is this?" After Senju got the cylinder, he found some brown powder inside, but he didn't know what these were. He looked at Yuuri on the side and said, "Yuuri, come and taste this."

"Huh? Is this something to eat? It smells delicious." Yuuri, who didn't seem to learn her lesson, sniffed and tasted it. "Bah! This is also bitter. Senju, you are bitter. What are you doing?"
"Is it also bitter? Is it coffee?" Senju shook his head, putting it away, then examined other iron boxes.
Among them, there were cups and teapots made of gold and silver. A tube of black tea and sugar caught his attention.
However, when Yuuri accidentally crushed a silver tea cup, her interest waned, and she focused on her glass cup with joy.
"It seems like these are the only things here," Chito declared after a thorough search. "They are all useless things."
"Well, the things here have been taken away. The tea sets left here are a bit bulky and no one took them with them. They are just left for us." Senju closed the other iron boxes and collected them into his inventory.
"Chii-chan, do you want to continue looking?" Yuuri also put away the cup.
"Well, it looks like there's nothing useful here. Let's go look for it in other rooms."
After searching the building all afternoon, the three of them found some dry food, but no one was interested in it now. They just put it away hastily and looked for other things.
Finally, everyone found a few boxes of bullets, a few blurry photos and some scraps inside.
As the sky outside darkened, the three of them decided to halt their search. After Yuuri loaded a few boxes of bullets, everyone headed outside.
Originally, the three went to rest inside the building at night, but now that they have the renovated cabins, and these buildings all looked dilapidated, they opted to settle in a wide and flat area for the night.
