2 Meadows, Knights, A Whole New World

Colin opened his eyes and saw a cloudy blue sky above him, he wondered for a while if he was dead but as an atheist he quickly dismissed the notion and started to get up. What he felt while getting up surprised him though... grass.

"Where am I?" He thought to himself as he straightened up his upper body and put a hand on his throbbing forehead. Looking around, he saw another person on the ground. The still unconscious physicist who's name he doesn't yet know was there.

As he tried to reach her and check for a pulse he heard the distant sounds of a horse neighing. Sensing danger, he immediately lied down flat on the ground. As he waited, the sounds of galloping grew closer and closer and eventually, stopped. He dared to raised his head and looked over the tall grass of the meadow, what he saw confused him, three fully armored horsemen complete with swords, lances and shields stood in front of a... glowing sphere and dismounted. He watched as the dismounted horseman said something to another horseman in a language that isn't anything that he has heard before. The two horsemen were then left by the third as he rode away to a destination unknown to the physicist.

He was about to lay back down again but a stirring beside him made him look to the now-conscious physicist as she tried to get up from the ground.

"No stay down!" He held her shoulder and placed a finger on his lips. "Keep quiet, I saw three horsemen nearby I'm not sure what happened to us both but stay down and keep quiet for now, please." He whispered to her.

The physicist nodded and laid down on the ground with Colin. While waiting for the remaining horsemen to leave she introduced herself as Lena Stanley and was a great fan of his research.

"Didn't know I had fans." Colin chuckled after Lena informed him about him having fans in the science community.

"The more you know." She replied as she smiled.

Then they were interrupted by a series of gallops coming from the direction where the third horseman left. Colin peeked over the grass he saw two riders, one being the horseman that left and the second was a bearded old man in a blue and white colored robe.

"What are they doing Colin?" Lena asked in a whisper.

"Nothing yet, I'm keeping my eye on them though." Was his reply.

The robed man dismounted and observed the glowing sphere with a curious expression and what he did next surprised Colin. His hands start to glow as he probed the glowing sphere, this went on for a few more minutes before he walked back to the group of soldiers and shook his head. About half an hour later the robed man mounted his horse and went off as one of the horsemen gave him what Colin assumed was their salute by extending his arms straight to the air.

During this time Colin and Lena have already thrown hypothesis after hypothesis at each other but they finally came into a conclusion as the "sphere" is what brought them here.

"So you're saying we are making a run for it past their guards to the sphere?" Lena asked as Colin laid out a plan, no, a gamble on going back home.

"Don't worry to much, they seem to be lax and they will be weighed down by their armor." He assured the nervous physicist as she looked down and replied.

"I can't run too much, I have asthma." She put her hand on her chest to check her heartbeat going faster at the thought of suddenly having an attack mid-run.

"You'll make it." Was all that he said as she nodded and followed him as they got as close as possible to the sphere.

"Ready?"

"Yes..."

"Ok, three, two, one, lets go!"

They both jumped out of the tall grass, startling the guards. They sprinted to the sphere as fast as they could but as they are only a few meters away from it, Lena suddenly started to wheeze and cough. Seeing this, Colin grabbed her hand and threw her to the sphere.

She just passed through the sphere like she went through water.

Elated that his hypothesis might be right, he started to run towards the sphere. But before he could reach it, he felt a searing pain on his legs and fell down. What he saw when he looked down was an arrow stuck on his shins and is exploding in pain, he screamed as the pain was too much to bear and eventually fell silent as he went unconscious due to the shock.

1546 hours, The Nevada desert.

It was his company's turn in guard duty, Captain Jonathan Meyer looked around as his men stared curiously at the glowing sphere that is visible through wielding glasses that he and his men currently wore.

They were the third company in the shift to patrol around the area around the glowing sphere, and the fact that this was an unexpected result of an experiment didn't calm his nerves down one bit.

Suddenly one of his men shouted.

"THERE'S SOMEONE OUT THERE! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!"

He immediately got up and looked at the the direction of the sphere to see two soldiers administering a puke bag as a substitute for a breathing bag to a female figure that is sitting down on the ground.

"Medic! Get the medic, She's suffering from an asthma attack!" One of the soldiers shouted.

Moments later, a stretcher was brought and the female who was identified as the missing scientist Lena Stanley was transported to a medical tent.

Everything was under control till gallops and shouting was heard.

Then the fist shot rang out from a soldier's rifle.
