Neville looked at the above mission alert while he had been spectating Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff in the stands.

He had just arrived here afterwishing Harry good luck with Ron and Hermione outside the changing rooms this afternoon.

The whole school had been focusing on Dumbledore who surprisingly had shown up for the match hence the terrible expression on his face had gone unnoticed.

Harry was safe. There was simply no way Snape would dare to try and hurt him If Dumbledore was watching.

Snape looked so angry at the intrusuon while the teams marched to pitch.

He awarded two penalty to Hufflepuff that match; one for when George Weasley had hit a Bludger at him. They other for apparently no reason at all.

Harry took a spectacular dive towards Snape and just when everyone in the stands thought that he had lost it they saw him catch the golden snitch.

Cheers erupted all over the stand as that had to be a record. No one including the Professors could ever remember the snitch being caught so quick.

After Harry had been lifted up by the Gryffindors, seen his friends cheering for him, he went back some time later to return his broom Nimbus Two Thousand to the broomshed.

There he encountered the scene of Snape threatening Quirrel.

Meanwhile everyone was waiting for Harry in the common room. They were having a party; Fred and George had stolen Cakes and stuff from the kitchen.

When Harry arrived breathlessly he told his friends all about the scene he had just witnessed in an empty room.

" So, we were right , it is the Philosopher's stone , and Snape is trying to force Quirrel to help him get it. He asked if he knew how to get past Fluffy and something about his hocus pocus."

" There are probably many more enchantments protecting the stone and Quirrel may have placed some anti dark arts spell which Snape needs to break through," said Neville.

"So you mean the stone is only safe as long as Quirrel stands up to Snape? said Hermione in frustration."

"No! Dumbledore must have placed some of his own enchantments protecting the stone so we probably don't need to worry about it," said Neville.

Also I'll be the one to take out the Philosopher's stone in 24 hours mentally added Neville.

After discussing a bit, they all went back to the party in the Gryffindor common room.

Neville had seen Hagrid's flute before and planned to play it on Fluffy.

At midnight when everyone was asleep he got up from bed and made his way to the forbidden corridor.

He used his clone technique to scout the way and once he determined that the coast was clear he set forth in his quest.

His clone opened the forbidden chambers door and played the flute on the three headed dog.

It was not really a tune but at the first note the beast's eyes began to droop.

Slowly, the dog's growls ceased it tottered on its paws and fell to its knees, then it slumped to the ground, fast asleep.

Neville approached the trap door bent down and pulled the ring of the trapdoor which swung up and open.

He climbed over it and looked down through the trapdoor to realise that he could not see its bottom.

He jumped into the open trapdoor and with a funny muffled sort of thump he landed on something soft.

This must be the Devils snares!

He used his Lumos spell drive away the snake like tendrils that sought to bind him.

He really felt that all his hardwork in mastering the spell had not gone to waste at this moment.

He pulled the door open. The next chamber was so dark that he couldn't see anything at all.

But as he stepped into it , light suddenly floated into the room to reveal an extraordinary sight.

He was standing on the edge of a huge chessboard, behind the black chessmen, which were all taller than him and carved from what looked like black stone. facing them, way across the chamber, were the white pieces.

Behind the white pieces he could see another door. There was simply no way to the door without winning the chess match.

He did not want to experience the "Crucio" of the system.

After a long time he checkmate the white king who threw his crown at him.

He charged through the door and up the next passageway. Soon he reached another door.
