Injuries

"You're here."

He says with a wide smile on his face. I can't look him in the eyes because I already know that his gaze on me would disgust me.

"Come to the room and we can start, alright boy? I Hope you had a fun time without the experiments, but now we have to start again, or we can't make any progress. You understand that, right?"

I don't say anything and just nod. He is wrong. He doesn't even know how fucking wrong he is. I don't have to do those experiments and he knows that they are unnecessary.

I clench my fists and start to walk behind him to the experiment room. The first thing I see is the same bed that I used to see every day. It's been only three days since the last time was where I had to go through the experiments.

He makes a gesture with his hand to tell me to lie down on the bed. I do as he says and lie down on the metallic hospital bed. I get goosebumps from the cold feeling on my skin. Maybe it wasn't only the cold bed that got me goosebumps…

He smiles down at me and starts to cuff my hands and legs.

"Did something happen? You look different than normally."

Different? The hell does he mean by that? Maybe because I don't want to do the experiments?

"I don't know what you mean. I'm like always."

He looks down at me and starts to put on gloves. He doesn't look like he believes me.

"Do you remember a little Cora named Ria?"

I flinch as he mentions her name.

"She really came up to me and hit me. I couldn't let that rest on my shoulder so I punished her a little. She deserved it. Maybe I overdid it a bit- I mean the whole floor was bloody because of all the injuries on her body."

He just laughed. He- laughed?! How dares he to even talk about a little child like that?

"She is just a child…"

I say with a silent tone but he looks at me disgusted, as if we are talking about a bug.

"Oh shut up Jinsei. It's not like she has to do anything with you. You aren't even related. Just shut your mouth and let's get started. I'm not in the mood to talk to you about Coras now. Let's begin."

Oh no. I Said something wrong, didn't I? I offended him- I… He won't go easy on me now and I know that for a fact.

The next hour is pure torture. He cuts in my skin and hits me when I scream or make too loud noises. I think I passed out like 3 times already but that's no reason for him to stop.

After two hours he is done and goes out of the room. He released the handcuffs but my whole body hurts. I didn't die, fortunately. But my body won't regenerate as fast when I don't die in a session. That means I would have to visit the hospital again. I try to stand up but I fall on the ground. It hurts. Everything hurts… In moments like this I wish I could just die.

I shake my head to get those thoughts out of my head. I don't have time for that now. Also even if I could die, I couldn't die right away. I still have to take care with one eye for Ria. She has a new family now, but maybe she sees me as her cousin, or her big brother. She wouldn't want me gone I'm sure about that.

As soon as I got used to the pain I made my way to the hospital. On my way I bought some flowers to visit Ria. I'm sure she will like them.

I go through the doors of the hospital and make my way to Dr. Murine, who looks really stressed. As she sees me she almost loses it.

"I- Jinsei I'm so glad you are here. Listen carefully now, okay? I don't know what I can do but- it's just that…"

I don't think I've ever seen her so stressed in my entire life. Now she also must have seen my injuries. Is that why she is so stressed?

She lays both her hands on my shoulders and looks me with a serious gaze in the eyes

"Something is with Ria. Something… I don't think that- Jinsei… She won't make it."
