Transmigration

*Bang*

I kicked open the lid of the coffin I was trapped in, and crawled out while coughing violently. The room was choked in gray smokes, which were seeping out from the coffin I had just escaped from.

The smoke detector was already blaring and spitting out springs in the room, but that only made things worse. There wasn't any fire in the room, just the smokes, so the springs just served to damage the sketch portraits, hanging all over the neat white walls, and the ones yet to be perfected, which were laying on drawing boards.

I scrambled to my feet, and blindly staggered around with my arms outstretched, unsure of what exactly I was searching for. The smoke had already encompassed the room, and it was only a matter of time before I would pass out from lack of oxygen.

I trailed my hands on the white walls till I felt a cold door knob, which I quickly twisted and ran into, then slammed the door shut behind me. I greedily inhaled deeply, the smoke free air in the room I had just run into, but ended up coughing up my lungs, with tear filled eyes.

After a while of assuring myself that I had survived the choking smokes, I looked up from the wet floor I was crouched on, and scanned where I was in confusion. I had never seen such things I was seeing right now, throughout my miserable life.

And at the thought of life, I quickly grabbed my neck in panic, and began choking like I last remembered. But then, I didn't feel the familiar warm crimson liquid, spilling out from my neck, and I wasn't feeling dread pains either... My neck even felt smoother than I could ever remember.

I felt my neck for a while, then grabbed my cheeks in confusion... This wasn't the feeling of my wretched, rash-bathed skin. I quickly staggered to my feet and stumbled to the only thing I could recognize in the room... A mirror.

The rectangular mirror was hanged vertically on one side of the white wall, above a weird white... Whatever it was. I stood in front of the mirror, and stared at the reflection on it with wide eyes. The reflection on the mirror wasn't me... Not the me I could remember.

The clean silver mirror was reflecting a white haired boy, who had blue eyes, a small pointed nose, and... I caressed my lips with a thumb. A fair soft lips? My lips had always been cracked and darkened, for as long as I could remember.

But that was the least of my worries, because the main questions have been unanswered. How did I survive being gutted in the throat by a beast king? Why wasn't I in the smelly cave I could last remember myself in? Why did the outer beings betray me, when I had been so loyal to them?

Alot of questions, with no one to answer them. How am I here? In an unknown... Pretty body? What was happening...?

An intense headache suddenly hit me, and waves of knowledge and memories began flooding my head violently. I grabbed my hair in panic, and was about to scream out in pains, when the headache vanished as suddenly as it came, with crimson liquid trickling out of my nose. And when I looked up at the mirror again... Reality hit me.

I had transmigrated to the body of an outer being, who had died of electrocution inside his... Gaming pod? Because he was too excited about a new game, and forgot to unplug it's charger.

But the most shocking revelation I got from the body of the outer being I was possessing- which are known as humans -is that my world is just a new game here, which was launched last night... And that my kind were known as... NPCs?

And it was supposed to be critically impossible, to transmigrate to a body here.

Pfft.

I found it very funny, that my previous miserable life was all programmed by someone. Because I had always strived hard to be the best at what I was doing, but all my efforts were never noticed or rewarded, but rather criticized and spat on.

It never for once crossed my mind, that I was programmed to be poor and powerless, no matter what I did to change that.

Things were now making incredible sense to me.

The prophesies about the outer beings arrival brought so much joy to the graymen- which is the name of my specie -that we thanked mother moon for her kindness and benevolence. Not knowing it was the work of some fatty, who lives in a basement.

We trusted the outer beings so much, not knowing that we were all programmed just to entertain them.

But look who slipped out right from under their noses, and inhabits in their own kind.

"I've been given a second chance, a chance to decide my own fate, a chance to live the life of my dreams... And I would cherish it with the very last me.

"I will play my stupid world like the game it is, and will trash all the players I come across along the way. I will be the villain and also the hero, I will be a nightmare and also a role model, I will be... Me" I thought deeply to myself, while staring at my reflection with a determined smile.

I flipped the tap switch on, and splashed water on my face. Then wiped off the dry blood below my nose, and looked at my reflection again, "And I would find those bastard's that used me as bait for the beast king, and make their gaming experience worse than it already is" I grinned to my reflection, and muttered with determination, "I'm back..."

*Siren*

*Knock*

The sound of sirens and loud knocks broke me out from daydreaming my unknown future, so I quickly wiped my wet face with a towel, and opened the door which led to the previously smoking room.
