Chapter Two

*Happy birthday* the word still rang in my ears. I just stood at the front of my house looking at the sunset.

'will my life change?' I asked myself as the tears in my eyes were threatening to fall. I could hear the laughter of my parents and my siblings, saying jokes while eating as the clinging sound of glass and plates were also heard.

Today's my birthday but it feels like a nightmare, feels like all my life I'm living in my nightmares. I can't even do anything for myself. I stood outside till the sky became dark. I can't even see the time on my old wristwatch. No one came out to look for me,no one thought about me, no one.

Depression filled my heart as hopeless eats me up. 'maybe I should just commit suicide, I may reincarnate in a loving home'. Looking up at the sky, the tears I was holding back fell freely at the sides of my face sliding down to my ears. Sobbing quietly, I stood up from the ground and walked towards the forest I just exited from.

"I'm tired of living a life where my family treats me like an outcast" I whimpered as one of the branches tore my skin.

The pain in my heart is more hurtful than that on my skin, in fact all are painful this world is painful. i keep going deeper into the forest even if I have no sense of direction as it's really dark.

Suddenly light shown, covering my eyes at the blinding light I gasped in amusement, as long I've always been in the mythical valley this isn't it, it doesn't smell or looks like the valley I've been to.

"Where in the world is this?"

"This is the land of the dead and how the forest really looks like" I heard a feminine voice and turned to look at the creature. Words were out of my mouth as her beauty was really captivating. Suddenly remembered what she said I coughed awkwardly and asked.

"You said this is the land of the dead and only the dead can see the beauty of this forest?"

"Correct you're dead that's why you can see it"

"What do you mean I'm dead, I never died before I saw this place" I said with confusion.

***OUTSIDE THE DEAD LAND FOREST

"I made your wish come true Mark now we can live together" a lady whispered with a smile on her face, looking down at Mark's dead body.
