Chapter 63: Sunday morning shopping

After breakfast, Bai Yi Yang went to wash the dish herself while Bai Yi Ling wipe the table, and the two small one ran around the new countertop, occasionally bumping onto Bai Yi Yang who is washing the dishes.

It is 9.00 am now and this was the latest they ever had their breakfast since Bai Yi Yang woke up, its really a bit late.

Bai Yi Yang bring her siblings outside to the vegetables field when she is done with the dishes. Today, she will let the mushrooms dried for another day before sealing it inside the plastic. Actually, she also planned to dried them in the oven just to make sure that they are totally dry, but drying under the sun is actually sufficient in this hot weather.

She also went to look at the seedlings they sow, it can be replanted after two days, seems like she need to clean more area so that they can plow another area. However, today is a rest day, at most she will do some light work in the workshop and that's all. They return home when the canvas covering the mushrooms last night is removed.

The children was curious about the pretty new pavement that Mr.Song made but Bai Yi Yang warn them not to come near, it should be partially dried now, but she doesn't want Mr.Song hard work to be ruined, just wait until it completely dried before they step on it.

After that, Bai Yi Yang and her siblings return to the living room and continue to lazy around. She show her siblings some bedroom design and ask them to choose, she also ask them what colour they want their bedroom to be.

"Can't we just sleep with you in the future jie?" Bai Yi Fang ask.

"You can, but in the future you will want to sleep in your own bedroom or bring a friend over for sleepover, you need to bring them to your own room." Bai Yi Yang said.

"We can bring a friend over?" Bai Yi Mo ask. He has the most close friends out of them, his group consist of 4 people, he, Shitou, Xiao Bao and the bucket boy.

Bai Yi Fang is popular, all girls like to befriend her but she doesn't really have a best friend that she don't mind sharing a room with. Don't look at her being all friendly to anyone, she actually have a lot of complaints when she is not satisfied with someone. Bai Yi Mo is the person who she talked with the most, since Bai Yi Mo will know who she was talking about.

Bai Yi Fang, in Bai Yi Yang opinion is a mysterious creature. She looks like a typical cheerful and friendly girl but she can also be venomous. Well, this is better than being someone who is easily bullied.

"You can. When you are big enough like Xiao Ling. That's why jiejie is asking about your room preferences, jiejie will try to decorate it as close as your ideal room." Bai Yi Yang said. She doesn't want to be a babysitter of a group of children, if they bring over someone like Shitou who can take care of himself then it is really not a problem.

"Then, I want this bed. When they come over they can sleep above. It will be fun!" Bai Yi Mo choose a double decker bed design.

"You sure?" Bai Yi Yang ask.

"En. And I like yellow, jiejie can I get yellow colour bed?" Bai Yi Mo ask.

"Of course can." Bai Yi Yang nod.

She quickly make a sketch of Bai Yi Mo bedroom. The double decker bed will be made according to the mattress size measurements, she already know which brand she is going to buy their mattress so she already refer to the sizes. For the lower bunk, the size should fit Super Single bed and the upper bunk is a regular Single bed. Luckily their ceiling is high, she doesn't have to worry that the double decker bed is not safe. The upper bunk is created just to satisfy Bai Yi Mo childhood fantasy, she purposely made the lower bunk with longer length so that he can use it for many years even after he grow taller in the future. Then she design a desk and chair in front of the window, a simple two door wardrobe, a rough design of carpet with fluffy descriptions and also a wooden treasure chest design.

"A treasure chest?" Bai Yi Mo said when he saw the sketch.

"En, for you to put your toys in the future." Bai Yi Yang smile. After a simple sketch, she wrote yellow, white, black theme colour. It is roughly done, when she have time she can start working on it immediately.

Bai Yi Yang turn to Bai Yi Ling and Bai Yi Fang. She ask the same question to them.

"I want a princess bedroom like this." Bai Yi Fang pointed at a hot pink theme bedroom with princess sticker on the wall, it looks quite old fashioned, and it looks a bit cheap. Bai Yi Yang doesn't really like the one Bai Yi Fang pointed, but she will still design a princess bedroom for her, but much better than the one in the picture.

"You want a princess bedroom? Alright." Bai Yi Yang agree when seeing Bai Yi Fang excited look.

Bai Yi Yang design a canopy bed in Queen size measurement, a bedside wooden table, a big wardrobe with a castle design, there are three doors with two drawers and on the side is open shelf for her to put her toys or maybe some books. In the middle is faux fur carpet with a princess tent. Bai Yi Yang feel that this is sufficient for now. Light pink, purple, blue should be the theme colour.

As for Bai Yi Ling, she doesn't have many requirements, she only want a simple and minimalistic bedroom.

"Blue colour looks good." Bai Yi Ling said. She likes pink, but when she remember that she is going to use this room until she grow up, she don't think that she will like the girly colour forever. Blue is a safe choice. What more nowadays after wearing a few beautiful colours, she think blue is very pretty too. Wearing clothes that Bai Yi Yang choose for her open her eyes, young girl doesn't have to wear pink to look good.

Bai Yi Yang design a simple bed for her which comes with shelves within the headboard. Bai Yi Ling is a book lover, this design suit her so much. She also design a simple bedside table with drawer, a desk and a chair, a big neat looking wardrobe with open shelves too. Bai Yi Yang sure that she is going to fill it with books. She wrote white blue to the note.

Bai Yi Yang then design her bedroom, she already have something in mind long time ago, a platform bed with a unique modern design of the headboard. Then she draw a Zenga design side table with three drawer stacked, a big wardrobe with multiple compartment she even make an additional compartment to store their quilts and their bedsheet. And lastly a desk and chair set. She want a peach, cream, white colour theme for her bedroom. Well, let's wait and see when the time comes, she then cross over the colour theme for her bedroom.

Lastly is Bai Yi Chen's bedroom design. She will ask him later about his opinion. Bai Yi yang put away the notebook after she wrote them down.

Now, she is just lying around chatting with her sister. After the vinyl flooring was installed, Bai Yi Yang doesn't find it weird to lie on the floor anymore.

Just when the siblings is chatting, a car honk can be heard from outside the gate. Bai Yi Yang stood up and neaten her hair. Outside the gate, a lorry is waiting and the driver is no other than the workshop owner in town. He must have come to deliver the custom made windows. Bai Yi Yang welcome him in. He came alone and there is no other worker with him.

"Miss Bai, can I bring the windows inside now?" The workshop boss said.

Bai Yi Yang smile and nod. Well, he is still very straightforward. The workshop owner took two windows one time and they were covered with protective wrapping. When the workshop owner come inside and saw the doors leaning on the wall, he is shocked and he look around the house for any adult, the potential builder of these doors.

"You can put it inside the workshop first." Bai Yi Yang open the workshop door for him. The workshop owner stopped looking and proceed to bring in the windows. When he was done with it, Bai Yi Yang check the products one by one and was satisfied with it.

"It is very sturdy. Then let's settle the payment." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Don't you need to ask the adult first?" The workshop owner said.

"My older brother is the head of the family, he listen to my decision." Bai Yi Yang smile which the workshop owner nod in response. After a while, no adult comes out so he assume that they are not home. Bai Yi Yang settle the payment for the other half, 1,719 yuan.

"Miss, can I ask who made all these doors?" The workshop owner ask when Bai Yi Yang was sending him out.

"I made them." Bai Yi Yang smile. The workshop boss look surprised but then he nod afterwards.

"No wonder Miss doesn't need a service for the windows installation. I have been short sighted. My name is Gong Fu, if Miss ever come to the town, do pay a visit to my workshop and give me some pointers." Gong Fu smile and nod at Bai Yi Yang.

"Mr.Gong is overreacting, I am not a professional." Bai Yi Yang said humbly.

"Miss Bai is too humble, you have great talent." Gong Fu said. They chat lightly until Gong Fu left.

Bai Yi Yang then return to the living room, Gong Fu praises enter her left ear and come out to the right ear. She can just install the windows later in the evening or tomorrow. She just wanted to lazy around today.

So when Bai Yi Chen return with a styrofoam box in his hand together with other stuff in plastics bag and on top of the styrofoam box passed 11.00 am, he saw his siblings lazing around and he felt relief. He actually wanted his siblings to be carefree instead of being busy all the time. Bai Yi Yang is a workaholic on weekdays, she only rest a while in the afternoon and work really hard, so seeing her like this makes him feel better.

"Gege is back!" The children ran towards him and took the stuff on top of the box. Bai Yi Yang also put down her phone and come to the kitchen.

"Hi ge.." She said casually.

"What did you do at home today?" Bai Yi Chen casually ask as he put down the box on the table.

The children is already looking over the stuff that he bought.

"Nothing, play games, watch cartoon.." She said. She open the styrofoam box and see that it is full.

"Don't touch that one, it's the seafood." Bai Yi Chen said to his younger siblings who wanted to open the big black plastic bags too. He then took it and put it in one of the sink.

"How is the price? Is it cheap or expensive now?" Bai Yi Yang also bring the styrofoam box to the counter near the sink. She look over the content and each part are packed in two layer plastic and they are all fresh.

"Cheaper than usual, the mutton is 23 yuan, beef is 20 yuan, pork is a bit cheaper now which is 15 yuan, duck is 17 yuan and chicken is 12 yuan. The seafood is a expensive, white shrimp is 35 yuan, tiger shrimp is 38 yuan, squid is 32 yuan and mackerel is 18 yuan, I also bought grouper fish and red snapper fish. They are all fresh and the seller doesn't come often to our market." Bai Yi Chen explain.

"Ge, not bad ah. From now on, you do the meat shopping." Bai Yi Yang said.

Other than the things that she list down, Bai Yi Chen also bought extra things like other parts of good meats especially pork since they are cheap, there is also tofu, food from the market and also her egg tarts.

Her siblings sat around the table and start eating the traditional cakes, her egg tarts was put into the fridge since she is currently dividing the meat into portion, in addition to the double plastic layer, she wrap them again in plastic wrap before putting them into the freezer drawer. The meat cannot all fit into one compartment so Bai Yi Yang move two whole chicken into the seafood section.

Bai Yi Chen is not bad in removing fish gut so Bai Yi Yang leave it to him to prepare the 3 kg of fish while she clean the prawn and squid. Then the seafood was wrapped in the same way and put into the freezer.

For lunch, Bai Yi Yang planned to cook braised pork belly with white rice, maybe add a stir fry leek on the side, it will be enough for lunch. Bai Yi Yang cut adequate amount of pork belly into cubes and ask Bai Yi Ling to go pick some stalk of leek. After that, she blanch the meat before braising it with all the ingredients on low heat before leaving it alone and went to sit with her siblings.

They ate the food bought by Bai Yi Chen from the market while Bai Yi Chen went to throw away the fish guts far away in the forest, he haven't returned.

"Are you making a soup jiejie?" Bai Yi Fang ask curiously.

"No, braised pork belly. The meat will be very tender, it taste sweet and salty, especially delicious when eaten with white rice." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Sounds delicious.." Bai Yi Mo add.

"Delicious. If you have something to eat, then just tell jiejie so that jiejie doesn't run out of idea." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Then I will ask Er jiejie to search some delicious food in her phone.." Bai Yi Fang said.

"I also like the KFC last time, can jiejie cook fried chicken too?" She add.

"Can, I will cook it for you in near future." Bai Yi Yang promised.
