Chapter 261: QiYing High School Award Ceremony Part 2
The ceremony start exactly at 9.30 am and it started with singing their national anthem and school's song. After the MC address all the VIPs, important guests and the student's family members, she invited the principal to deliver a speech.
The principal speech is basically him bragging about their school achievements, he mentioned their R&D Team first and foremost and even mentioned Sir Austin name. The principal seems be very happy about this particular achievement since she talked about it for a few minutes straight from how he first recruit Sir Austin to the school, then the formation of the R&D team until their school team won Gold medal. Then, he mentioned the Mathematic Olympiad team who also have made the school proud. This time, he straight away mentioned Bai Yi Yang and Li Jian Yu name. He may have forgot about other students but this two, he will not forget. The students around Bai Yi Yang and Li Jian Yu clap loudly when the principal talk about them and it attracted quite a lot of eyes. So, Bai Yi Yang and Li Jian Yu can only pretend to be cool and nod at the people looking at them with smiles.
Then, he continue to brag for almost 20 minutes before his speech end with a meaningful messages to the VIPs, he is basically asking for more sponsorship from them in the future. Bai Yi Yang finally understand that not anyone can just become principal, they must be business minded too. A school principal need to know how to get sponsorship.
After the speech from the principal, the biggest VIP amongst the guests was invited to give speech. His speech is straight away model speech for teachers and schools, it was dull and boring but Bai Yi Yang still listen attentively. She have met this VIP before, he was with them during their research presentation.
Once the two people finish their speech, it was finally performance time. Music Club did the first performance and Bai Yi Yang noticed Su Long. He seems to have noticed her too and smile. Bai Yi Yang grin, she is sitting at the front row so it is convenient to take pictures, he took a lot of pictures for Su Long. She will send this to him later. Bai Yi Yang wasn't bored sitting there since Li Jian Yu is also there, they basically chat along the performances.
After the Music Club finished their performance, the award ceremony start with awarding 1st place to 3rd place in each grade, it started from junior high school and when Grade 9 was called, Yao Ming is indeed the first place in his grade.
When Yao Ming returned to his seat, a performance from one of the class is already starting. Li Jian Yu and Bai Yi Yang said their congratulations to Yao Ming. Yao Ming blush and said her thanks. The interval was quite far from each award, 3 class already performed when Bai Yi Yang and Li Jian Yu was called to queue up. Naturally, they were informed that they placed 1st in their respective grade. When Bai Yi Yang arrived at the waiting place, she saw Bai Yi Chen and her eyes widened, he really beat up Fang Xiu Ying and became 3rd place in their grade.
"Ge." Bai Yi Yang almost ran towards Bai Yi Chen as they hug each other.
"Congrats." Bai Yi Yang grin and Bai Yi Chen pat her head with happy smile.
"Su Long, congrats to you too." Bai Yi Yang turn and said to Su Long.
"It's the same with you two." Su Long said to the twins.
They waited for a while before the performance ended. Since they are Grade 10, they were called first and Bai Yi Chen went up the stage first since he is the 3rd place. The clap was loud and Bai Yi Yang grinned proudly.
Su Long was considered a professional when it comes to receiving awards, he was calm when he go up the stage. It's just that, this time he come on the stage taking the 2nd place instead of his usual 1st place. Bai Yi Yang goes after and she smile widely when receiving her award.
"Student Bai Yi Yang is really an all rounder." The principal praise her after handing over the small trophy and certificate. Bai Yi Yang is a star student. He don't have to worry that Li Jian Yu is graduating high school since there is a Bai Yi Yang now.
"Thank you principal." Bai Yi Yang smile and they took pictures. When Bai Yi Yang was going down the stage, she saw Zhou Zhu Yao and her siblings before giving them a small wave.
Once Bai Yi Yang went back to her seat, she watch the rest of the ceremony and got reunited with Li Jian Yu back to their seat.
"I bet we will be called again not long after this. They wanted to award the whole R&D Team and the Mathematics Olympiad Team too." Li Jian Yu said.
"I know. My classroom teacher told me about it." Bai Yi Yang said.
"Senior, this is your last high school award ceremony, it's fine to be a bit tired." Bai Yi Yang add again and Li Jian Yu nod helplessly.
As expected, after a few performances, they were called again for special awards. The R&D Team was called on stage and the VIP that gave the speech presented the special award and a sponsorship cheque. What a way to show off money ah. Everyone clap loudly when they saw the amount he donated for the R&D Team. So generous ah!
"It's a pity that only Yi Yang and me will be in the team next year." Ruby An said as they went down the stage. Their team of 4 is really perfect, Ruby An is also sad to let Li Jian Yu and Wang Yi Lin go.
"It's fine. We already earned the best reward." Wang Yi Lin said.
"Even after you enter university, your name won't be forgotten. The 4 of you are already legends." Teacher Yin at the back add. Teacher Yin is the female teacher of the R&D Club. She didn't follow them to Country S last time but she also got a Gold medal once they returned from the competition last time. She and Sir Austin is the coordinator and adviser of the club.
"That's right. Teacher, should we build a shrine with our names on it?" Ruby An joke and everyone laugh.
Of course it wasn't the end for Bai Yi Yang and Li Jian Yu, they were called again when special awards was given to the Mathematics Olympiad Team. Many people already remember their face and name by now. All the Mathematics Olympiad Team members is on stage but Bai Yi Yang who got Gold medal, Li Jian Yu who got Silver medal, Su along who got Bronze medal and the two students who got Honourable Mention is placed in the middle.
"This three students have been on stage since the beginning. They are smart and capable."
"Why aren't my child even half as smart as them?"
"I heard my child say that these two are basically monsters, impossible to beat."
"They not only excel in academic, their extracurricular is also international class."
Praises came for Li Jian Yu, Su Long and Bai Yi Yang but some react negatively too. They said that the school choose the same students for everything, not giving the other students chance.
"Aiyoo, just admit it if your children is not good enough. Who will send someone to a competition that is a sure loss? They were chosen because they are capable."
"That's right. If you are jealous, just tell your child to work harder. They may have sacrificed their play time to get all these awards, tell your children to do the same."
Basically, this is how the issue broke down in the crowd. As for the one on stage, they don't even know this since they are busy taking pictures and so on.
Bai Yi Yang was a bit tired once they are done with the special awards. Currently, Yao Ming and a few children in the chess club is in front receiving awards. Bai Yi Yang finally understand why Li Jian Yu said that it was tiring just now. They need to control their words and expression when in front of many people, that is energy consuming.
"When is your class performing?" Li Jian Yu ask.
"After the next class." Bai Yi Yang said and Li Jian Yu nod. They waited and watch another performance before Bai Yi Yang's class is called.
"Woo!" Bai Yi Yang cheer loudly and clap with the other students.
"My twin is performing." Bai Yi Yang grin at Li Jian Yu and standby her camera. An upbeat music start and female students with good looking cheerleaders outfits came up to the stage and start dancing. The male students also wore matching outfits but basically they just move around on stage bearing flags.
"That's him!" Bai Yi Yang said to Li Jian Yu when he spot the tall and handsome Bai Yi Chen.
"I know.." Li Jian Yu laugh at Bai Yi Yang enthusiastic response. Bai Yi Yang also act like an idol's fan too, she click and click many pictures. Half of them is the whole team pictures and half of them is focused on Bai Yi Chen.
"Senior Bai, the tall senior that got 3rd place in your grade is your twin?" Yao Ming was also attracted to Bai Yi Yang telling Li Jian Yu and ask.
"That's right." Bai Yi Yang grinned at him and turn back to the stage.
"He is also not ordinary." Yao Ming look at the handsome senior on stage and said to himself.
Bai Yi Yang enjoyed the so-so performance a lot and clap the loudest in the end. She may be a cool girl but she can also become a fan girl for her twin ah.
"Amazing right?" Bai Yi Yang turn to Li Jian Yu with shining eyes and Li Jian Yu froze for a while before nodding. Actually, it was just so-so. The costumes is good looking but the dance is really quite ordinary, don't have to say about the male students who only run around in formation holding flags, they were so stiff and unbearable to look at, as if they were drag to perform on the stage. It was the visual that save the whole performance. With good looking people, any flaws can be fixed.
Bai Yi Yang was blinded by all of that. It was her twin brother than performed, then her close classmates too. So, in her eyes, it was the most fun and enjoyable performance.
Two more classes perform before it was the Theatre Club turn to perform. The narrator start and dramatic music play in the background before the first scene unfold.
"Wow!" Everyone exclaimed seeing the beautifully designed stage and the colourful costumes.
The story started with the luxurious palace banquet held by the Prince of Verona. The Prince of Verona stood at the highest seat while watching people dancing on the dance floor. The attendees then give way to two couple, the handsome Romeo and his lover Rosaline, the beautiful Juliet and her fiancé Paris. This two couple arrival was announced and the audience start talking with each other. They thought it was Romeo and Juliet but the two main characters was dancing with their own lovers. The dancing ended and the two families start showing conflict, the Montague and Capulet family argue and separate at the palace banquet with bad terms, the ending of first scene is the Prince of Verona asking the audience what he should do to unite the two families?
"This prince will do something mind blowing, trust me."
"He will just worsen the situation. Please don't do anything Prince of Verona." The crowd reacted to the ending of first scene.
The second scene start not long after and it start with Romeo and Rosaline. Rosaline is poisoned and lying on her bed, the handsome Romeo is helpless. It was the same with Juliet, Paris is also dying on the bed dying. The two main characters was helpless, making the scene looks gloomy. The doctor then make his appearance and said that the two can only be cured with the Golden Apple that grow in the Prince of Verona's palace.
"The scriptwriter is so cruel. I am sure that it was the Prince of Verona who did this."
"The prince is indeed suspicious."
"If it's not him, I will swallow a stone."
The third scene continue with the two main characters meeting each other again at the palace. The scene is much simpler compared to the first scene, it was only the Prince of Verona, Romeo, Juliet and a few palace maids and guards. As expected, Prince of Verona have the Golden Apple but he set up a condition, they two can only get married then he will give them the Golden Apple, what more, there is only one.
The Prince of Verona who basically become the most hated character in this play come forward once again and ask the audience with the Golden Apple in hand. Who should he gave the Golden Apple too?
"He is a good actor." Li Jian Yu laugh lightly and whisper to Bai Yi Yang.
"That's right. When he go deep into his character, he can be hateful." Bai Yi Yang also laugh.
When Hua Chang Yin choose the Prince Of Verona, it was initially a small character but the actor is so good, Hua Chang Yin add these few bits of interaction with the audience to make the play more interesting.
The fourth scene commence and the iconic scene in Romeo and Juliet was presented. These good looking visuals make the audience wowed. What more, they purposely add comedy in this interaction between Romeo and Juliet as they pretend to love each other. People forgot about the Prince of Verona a bit and focus on the two main characters interacting on stage. The leads are good looking, it was basically a successful scene.
The last scene was presented and the background and props is even more good looking. Romeo and Juliet has changed into their wedding dress as they walk the isle. The audience was almost convinced that the two will get married when the two was reciting their wedding vows. Some said that the two is fated even when the scriptwriter make alterations. Who knows that chaotic killing scene between the two families start in the next second and both Romeo and Juliet die tragically in each other hand.
Prince of Verona made his appearance once the two leads die, he calm the two families and saved both Rosaline and Paris by dividing the Golden Apple in a half. Because of many death, the two families reconcile in the end and left with the remains of their dead family. Swore not to fight with each other again and cause another bloodbath in the future.
Prince of Verona stood amongst the bloody scene and tell the audience that he have made it. Prince of Verona laugh fill the hall as the curtain close and the narrator end the story with dramatic music in the end.
