~NIKLAUS'S POV~
"Fine then, let me see what you have." I say to her in defeat. When other girls would readily accept my offer to buy them the entire shopping mall, she prefers to wear what she has? She's sure a strange one, definitely not in her right senses.
I watch her walk into the entrance of the apartment. The building is not really bad looking but I cannot imagine living in a place that looks so congested. I would definitely suffocate and die. I shake my head and glance back to my phone. I sigh and my mood becomes sour again seeing the text from my mother. The witch has finally decided to push me to the edge. I stare at the picture of the girl she has sent to me and also at the message sent with it, that I should consider having a serious relationship with her.
Why the fuck is she suddenly talking about a serious relationship? The next thing she would do is start talking about marriage. I need to quickly to something to cause a stir and divert her attention from it and that's going on a date with someone like Camille who is not known to the public.
After some moments, I turn to look at the entrance and my breath gets caught up in my throat when I see walking out. I don't think red has ever looked good on any woman that I have set my eyes on, it has never brought out their curves and beautiful shape like it did on her. The dress is obviously not from expensive brands but it's still beautiful and looks unique in its own way. It stops a little above her knee and has a slight slit on her right thigh revealing her beautiful brown skin. The dress is handless so her cleavage is a little exposing but not very noticeable.
My eyes travel from her black long hair which she places on only one side her face, down to the black heels she was putting on before they rests on the black purse on her hand. She really doesn't need to be taken to a big shopping mall before she can stand out.
"So… is this too shabby and embarrassing for me to wear and come with you?" I hear her ask and that's only when I return from scanning her.
I shake my head, "No, it's perfect."
I see the surprise look in her eyes before she quickly looks away. It's as if she wasn't expecting a compliment from me, even I was not expecting to give her any.
"So, let's get going then." She says clutching to her purse tightly.
I nod before walking over to my car and I open the front seat for her to enter before I move over to the driver's seat. As I start the car, I notice she keeps adjusting her dress and hair as if she isn't sure if she looks good.
I grin before turning to her. "If you don't look good, there's no way I would have allowed you into my car." I say to her with the intent to assure her but it does the exact opposite because she glares at me.
"Well, you would have just had to take your car and scram because I don't give two fucks about what you think." She says with a frown.
"My thought could be very helpful you know. I always speak the truth and say things the way I see them." I shrug.
She shakes her head at me and stares through the glass. "You had better let me see Lester Lambert." She says almost in a mumble.
I smile, "I always keep my promises. Besides, you're keeping to your part of the deal so why would I not do the same, do I look like a prick to you?"
She doesn't say anything and continues staring through the glass.
I already made a reservation for us at one of the best known resorts in the country where I can draw much attention.
~CAMILLE'S POV~
We arrive at a very big and beautiful resort. From the view of the resort, it's obvious that it was built for specifically the rich people who can afford it and not for people like me.
As we walk into the restaurant, eyes turn to us at once and I do not need to be close to them to know that they are already talking about us. God, I hate this type of attention! I thought rich people were supposed to behave well and mind their businesses?
Niklaus take my hand in his and when I look at him, he smiles at me. "Smile, Camille." He whispers to me.
I roll my eyes before forcing a smile on my face. Just then, a woman wearing a black cooperate gown walks over to us.
The woman smiles broadly at us, "My name is Elsa, I am the manager here. You are welcome Sir Niklaus; your table has been prepared for you, please this way."
Niklaus nods his head before turning to me, "Let's go baby."
Baby? He should be an actor right now.
I feign a smile and nod my head before we start following her with my hand still in his. She leads us to a reserved table and Niklaus draws out a chair for me to sit. I smile and thank him before sitting and he sits opposite me.
"Thank you for using our resort Sir; it's a huge privilege for us." The woman says with a smile on her face.
Niklaus nods, "Of course, I heard your services are top notch and I always go for the best."
The woman nods with a smile before she leaves. I look around the place; it's really classic and beautiful. The other tables that are far from ours are occupied with people while a few are empty. The only source of light in this place is from the well placed candles and low colored lights. Then, a waitress approaches us and I turn to look at her.
The waitress smiles at us. "Would you like beverages and appetizer for a start?"
Niklaus frowns at the waitress, "Do I need to teach you your job? Will you serve me wine first?"
Oh my goodness, what in the…
"Um, ignore him…" I say quickly to the waitress. "Bring the beverages and appetizer thank you."
The waitress gulps before she nods, "Alright ma'am."
I turn to Niklaus and frown at him, "What is wrong with you? Do you have to talk to her like that? That was rude."
He gives me a confused look, "And how was I rude? I made everything clear when I made my reservation. Do I have to teach her, her job?"
I sigh and shake my head, "You should have simply said yes instead of sounding so rude and being an asshole."
"Call me an asshole one more time and…"
"Asshole." I call him before he can even finish his sentence. Does he think I am scared of him? I won't even be doing this if not for Lester Lambert.
He sighs and glares at me. "I wouldn't even take you out on a date if I didn't have to. You're not even close to my type."
I can't believe this asshole, "I don't even want to know about the reason you brought me here for a date. Whatever the reason is, just make sure it doesn't disturb my peaceful life."
"Well, it's already late for that now."
I look at him in confusion, "What do you mean by that?"
He doesn't say anything and just smiles. Oh goodness, what is this asshole up to?
The waitress returns with the beverages and appetizer. Niklaus suddenly reach for my hand across the table and cups my cheek with his other hand. What is he doing?
"Play along, smile Camille." He urges me and I hold myself from rolling my eyes.
I smile at him and cover his hand with mine. "Is this not enough?" I ask him between my teeth.
"You have to play the perfect girlfriend role till the end, Camille."
I sigh and nod my head, "Just for Lester Lambert, for Lester Lambert." I mumble to myself.
He lets go of me and we start eating.
After we are done, the waitress comes back to clear the place. She leaves again to serve us food. I reach for my phone in attempt to text my brother but Niklaus takes me by surprise as he moves across the table and kisses me. It's a quick kiss and he moves back quickly.
I stare at him in shock and surprise before looking around me, the eyes that has been on us since we entered here are now full of curiosity as they keep staring at us.
"What do you think you're doing?" I frown at him.
He grins, "Kissing my girlfriend, anything wrong?"
I roll my eyes and look away from him. He's really good at pretending, isn't he? If not for Lester Lambert, I will not be doing this. I just hope everything ends here because I don't think I will last one more day with this prick.
