CHAPTER 33: Real mission [5]

[Third Person POV]

Dex and Lucas were staring at each other. Both were waiting for the other one to make a move.

Time seemed to slow down for Dex. He knew there was no way he could win. He was trying to delay his death.

Everyman feared death.

Dex made the first move. Black flames appeared in his hands. He fired the flames at Lucas.

Each flame was enough to burn a person into a blink of an eye.

Lucas moved his spear. He started rotating it. The wind produced from the spear was enough to extinguish the flame.

'Demon ' Dex said to himself. Though Dex had the appereance of a demon, to him Lucas was the embodiment of demon.

His power was enough to make an B-rank spell diappear just by rotating his spear.

Lucas started running towards Dex. Dex casted a magic barrier infront of him.

Dodging an attack from Lucas was impossible for him.

Purple colored lightning started forming in Lucas's spear.

"Demon Slaying Art: Lightning Chain"

Lucas striked the barrier with his spear.

"Tingggg!"

The sound produced was so sharp that everyone except these two had to cover there ears.

"Crack!!!"

The barrier was shattered. Dex was vunerable. Before he could act Lucas was already attacking him.

'Why did this monster had to come?'Dex said to himself.

Lucas sliced Dex's head off easily. The fight lasted for only about one minute.

It was a clear difference between two ranks.

Lucas looked around and saw some villians dead and some captured.

"Any causalties?"

"No sir!"A hero replied to Lucas.

Lucas was relieved. During a fight one expects to lose some soldiers but this time nobody died on the hero's side.

"Ting!"

Lucas received a message. He looked at his watch.

(Come down and kill)

Alice was still firing at the monster trapped inside the barrier. She was going to run out of arrows.

Anna was also going to run out of mana from holding the barrier.

Ciel looked at Ryujin.

"Do you have any other plan?"

Ryujin didn't speak. He just kept looking above. He had already sensed that the fight above was over and knew that Lucas had won his battle.

'Hey system! Can message Lucas through my phone.'

[Yes]

'Message him: Come down and kill'

After a few seconds some rumbling could be heard from the ceiling.

It looked as if the ceiling was going to collpase.

"Ryujin, the ceiling might collpase."

Ciel said to Ryujin in a concerned voice. Again Ryujin didn't even look at her.

'Why is he not responding?'

Soon lightning crackling could be heard.

"Boom!"

The ceiling right above the monsters was destroyed. The debris from the ceiling crushed some of the monsters.

A man came down from the opening and took a stance. Purple lightning fromed around his whole body.

He looked at Ryujin and gave a small smile.

He struck the ground with his spear and then the lighning spread to the monsters.

"Shrieekkk!!!"

The monsters started screaming. After a few seconds the lighning atopped. The monsters just stood there. There body slowly started to crumble and they turned into ash.

"You can let go of the barrier."

Lucas said that while looking at Anna.Anna let go of her barrier.

Lucas walked towards the students.

Akio stared at Lucas's face and said

"You must be Aldegar Lucas."

"Yes I am. It has been a long time since I had seen you."

He looked at all of them and said

"I am glad all of you are safe."

All of them gave a grateful smile. They were relieved that they had been saved.

"The Oppressors had attacked the mall and you are also the victim of the incident. What you have done here is admirable."

He looked at the turtle's and the villians corpses.

" You have done magnificient job in stopping their forces. If not many innocent lives could be taken."

They were happy to hear Lucas talk... except Ryujin he was just staring at something in the air.

'But he did all the work.'

Akio, Anna, Alice and Ciel felt a bit guilty. They could not do anything.

' We were basically useless. If not for Ryujin we would be dead by now. Why am I so weak? Just why?'

All of them were doubting themselves.

Ciel was looking at Ryujin. For her, he loooked beautiful even when his face was covered in blood.

' Can I be strong as him?'

Ciel had already been saved by Ryujin for three times and she had never done anything to repay his kindness.

'All I do his lower my head when I am near him. I am just pathetic. Why did I train so hard for? Just be this weak and helpless.'

Lucas saw the gloomy expression on their face. He clapped his hands.

"We will need to get you to hospital. Looks like all of you are injured and need treatment. The ambulance is on its way."

Ciel suddenly felt dizzy. Her whole body became weak and she collapsed.

Akio, Anna and Alice also collpased. They were suffering from mana exhaustion. Their mental state also was not in a good condition.

"Looks like they are suffering from exhaustion."

Lucas said while looking at Ryujin.Ryujin was perfectly fine. Well he was invincible.

"So any causalties?"

Lucas shook his head at Ryujin's question.

"Thanks to you there were none."

Lucas was happy that none of the citizens were dead. He looked at Ryujin.

Ryujin had a calm expression. He was staring straight into something.

'I wonder what he had gone though to be this calm?'

"Won't you look suspicious to these guys?"

Ryujin thought about it for a while. He had shown these guys skills that a ordinary hero wouldn't show but Ryujin could always make a excuse of using his Divine Ability.

"No! Everybody knows I have a Divine Ability and these guys are not the type to reveal secrets."

Ryujin was looking at the message that the system showed him.

[The world saving progress had increased: 2% -> 4% ]

'I did so much and again only 2% of the world is saved . You got to be kidding with me.'

Ryujin sighed.

"Lets take them to the Ambulace."

Ryujin said to Lucas as he picked up Akio and Emily.

Lucas used his magic to leviate the other three.

'Stop felxing your telekinetic abilities. Though I should try to learn it. Seems quite useful in carrying bodies. I might need it when I dispose some bodi- I mean things.'
