CHAPTER 11: First Day

[Ryujin's POV]

Its been two weeks since my talk with Arthur and one week since Astrik Academy's new semseter started.Today was the day I would attend the academy.I still hadn't moved to the academy's dorm. I had already packed my stuff. The acdemy would move my stuff while in the evening.

They would also bring my pets. Mrs Luna started to cry when I told her I was moving out.I hugged her and Mr Dave and assured them I would visit them time to time. I gave both of them a pair of rings. The were S rank relics that I made myself.

They would reject my gift if I told them the rings were S class. They have helped me so much that was the least I could do for them.

I was actually worried about the evaluation test. My <Stats> would be evaluated using an appraisal device. Last time i was evaluated by the government. Fortunately I knew a high ranking official there and he helped me fabricated by <Stats> on paper.I couldnt hide my <Abilities> and <Talent> from the appraisal device and the device never showed by <Divine Ability>.

But few weeks ago the system solved this problem for me. The system could help me hide and even change my <Stats>

The things I asked the system was to lower the rank of my mana control. I couldnt remove any abilities and talents because they were already recorded in the past and if I erased it, it would make me look suspicious.

I originally awakened by talent as a mage which was A-rank. Later after learning Rune language it evolved into Rune Mage.

I wore my academy uniform.The uniform had white shirt gray pants and blue coat and blue sweater. I didn't wear the sweater because it was hot outside.

I had to reach the Academy at 9 am . The academy started at 9:15 am. I rode a train to Astrik city.The city was named after the academy. The academy had economical impact on the city that is why the city was named Astrik.

The train trip took approximately 45 minutes. I reached the Acdemy. I could more than ten thousand students. The Academy was huge. The Academy was so large that it was divided into sector. The sector I had to visit for Sector 1. That is where the main building was located.

Arthur had told me to visit the staff room. As I was searching for the staff room I could feel many people looking at me. I could even hear some of them

"Kyaa! Isnt that guy really handsome."

"That the dude that appeared on tv."

"Tch he just has a pretty face."

I could only sigh. I reached the staff room. I looked for a sign that said S class. I found the sign. I could see a man writing something. I tapped on his shoulder. As he turned back I was shocked.

The person sitting on the chair was Canmore Arlo.He had dark blue hair and black eyes.He was wearing a simple shirt and a black colored pant.He was really tall as well.He was also called hero of heroes.A S-rank hero chosen by the Holy sword to exterminate demons which he actually did.

Eight years ago he killed every demon even the demon king by himself. He wiped out every demon from the face of earth.

" You must be Ryujin.Please refer to me as Arlo"As he said that he put his hand forward for a handshake. I shook his hand and said," It is my pleasure that the Great Hero is my homeroom teacher."

"You flatter me.Lets not waste any time and go evaluate your <Stats>." Arlo lead the way to the evaluation room.

We reached the evaluation room and saw a head set like device." Put that on.You might feel a little bit of tingle." Mr Arlo said to me while pointing at the device.

I sat on a chair and the device was automatically placed on my head. After two minutes approximately the device came off.

I saw Arlo looking at computer screen.He was furrowing his eyebrows.Did the system illusion not work."

"Mr Arlo. Is there any problem?" I asked him while taking a look at the computer screen. The results were the same as I had fabricated.

" No everything is fine. Now lets head to class."Arlo said to me with a gentle smile on his face.This guy definetly felt something off about my<Stats>. I should not get too close with him.

As we entered the class everybody looked at our direction. Everybody returned to their seat and stopped talking,Except Adam. He couldn't believe his eyes. I forgot to tell my friends that I was joining the academy.

"Good morning everyone. I hope all of you are fine.As you see we have a new student. You probably have seen him on tv. He was caught up in the monster attack in Sunset city. However his strength has already been evaluated by the headmaster and he will be your classmate for next three years.

Arlo then looked at me and said "Intoduce yourself."

With a calm expression I said"My name is Ryujin. Its nice to meet all of you. Though I started school a bit late, I hope all of us can get along." When I finished my introduction, I could hear my classmates satrt to gossip.

"What bullshit we had to give an exam and he gets a free pass."

"He looks handsome. He doesn't even have a surname. I could probably pressure him into being my plaything."

I already knew things like this would happen. Especially I don't have a surname. After the great catalysm, God forbid humans from having surname. Only those with powerful abilities would get surname and it would be passed on their family line.

The ones with surname were referred as nobles while people like me were called commoners.

"Silence!" Just a single word and the class atmosphere completely changed. "Please take a seat." Arlo ordered me . I walked up to the last corner seat where Adam was sitting.

He was still shocked. I could clearly read his expression'What did you do this time?" I just looked away.

"Now lets get back to class. Today we will be studying about Mana Conposition."

Then our theory classes when for one hour.

In the academy thoey and practical classes were compulsory. Each subject was taught by sifferent teacher but for some reason Arlo taught us both.

[After an hour ]

"I want all of you to complete the questions that I have given you. Now get ready and come to the arena for practical lessons."

Me and adam changed our clothes into academy's track suit and we went for paratical lessons.

All of us arrived so Arlo ordered us to stay in a staight line. He then looked at a paper and started speaking.

"Ryujin will be added to Squad 1 . We already knew he was joining the academy so we already had assigned him to a squad.Now begin your practise and Ryujin come with me."

He then took me to a weapon storage area and asked me to choose whatever I liked.As I was choosing my weapon I asked him about my squad memebers.He then showed me the names and photos of my squad members.

our class had 45 students so each squad had 5 memebers and altogether there were seven squads.

"Thank you Mr Arlo but I cannot find my secondary weapon." I was a mage class but having a secondary weapon was common.

Mr Arlo folded his hands and asked me " what do you use a your secondary weapon?"

"A cleaver knife."

"Hmm i will order it I will arrive in about a minute."

The reason I used a cleaver knife was because i liked it design. Simple as that and it was great weapon for butchering peopl- I mean monsters.

Once my weapon arrived I went back for training. I could feel stared but I ignored them.

Before I started training I decided to geet my squard members. I already know Adam so I decided to meet others.

At first I walked toward Aldegar Lucius. He had white hair and striking purple eyes. He had the vibe of a rich mafia boss.

As I got near him, I rached my hand out to them and said " Hello-" but I couldnt finish my sentence. Lucius had laready pointed his spear at me and said in an anmoyed tone "Fu*k off"

The whole class was looking at us. Some were sneering.

I could see in his eyes that he was looking at me like I was a piece of trash.

Maybe I did choose the cleaver knife to cut people and looks like this guy just might be my first victim.
