A few minutes later, Teng Bao screamed in sheer terror.

By now, his face, neck, and shoulders were covered in numerous small cuts.

Blood seeped from the wounds, making him look like he was covered in ghastly red-edged scales.

The physical pain was secondary; the real torture came from the fear and anxiety in his heart!

The knife dancing before his eyes felt like a picky venomous snake, contemplating where to bite next!

"Just started, and you can't take it?"

Su Lang's lips curled into a cold smile, "Unfortunately, once it starts, there's no stopping."

"No! I'll tell you whatever you want to know!"

"Please, give me a quick death, stop torturing me!"

Teng Bao now resembled a whimpering stray dog, devoid of his earlier bravado.

The two remaining members of the Broken Axe Hunting Group, kneeling nearby, were shaking like leaves, their fear palpable.

"Alright, since you're so pitiful,"

Su Lang said, but his hands didn't stop moving, "I'll continue while you talk. If I'm satisfied, I'll give you a quick death."

"No! No, I'll talk!"

Teng Bao was incoherent, "The reason we wanted to kill you was because of your parents!"

"Your parents recently became guest retainers of the Ye Family. They were sent on a dangerous mission to a D-class beast area and perished."

"According to the guest retainer agreement, the Ye Family was supposed to compensate you with 2000 gold coins per person. This money was originally meant for you."

The two men were now completely devoid of any bandit bravado, groveling in the dirt, begging for mercy.

"Gather all valuable items and bring them to me."

Su Lang's voice was cold, "No tricks, or you'll suffer a fate worse than Teng Bao."

There were many materials and resources in the base, worth at least five to six hundred gold coins, which Su Lang wasn't about to leave behind.

"Yes! Yes!"

"We'll get to it right away!"

The two men, both terrified and relieved, scrambled to their feet and began collecting valuable items.

Su Lang stood still, contemplating information about the Ye Family.

The entire Red Maple City had four major forces, each with a martial general-level powerhouse. The Ye Family was one of them.

The other three were the Martial Alliance, the Yu Family, and the Bao Family.
