First kiss and other things.

"Put your back into it Miayana, kick a bit higher!" Dad yell at me.

We are currently in the training room working out and training from five this morning, dad not going easy on us. But I understand his tactic, he want us to be ready for anything the League throws at us. Over the pass few weeks, we had have numerous attacks from androids and cimeras they experimented on. Some we have beaten and others had gotten the better of us, but things got even more challenging because of this new pandemic called covid 19. Everyone have to be in masks, and there is also a curfew for the city. But the criminals don't care, instead crime has arisen since the out break of the pandemic.

"Dad, can't we take a break?" I pant, resting my hands on my knees.

"No, and when we are training or when you are out in the field. I am not dad, Daison or Mr. Hesketh, I am the Enforcer."

"The Enforcer, really dad?" Dai raise a brow at him.

"That will have to do until I come up with something better." Dad flick Dai on the forehead. "Oh, and Hase's undercover name is-"

"Samurai." Dai spoke up and we all look at him. "The name suits him, and we all have seen him with Robyn's katana, the man is talented.

"Samurai." Hase tested the name on his tongue. "I like it, and I bet it is better than the one Daison- my apologise, that the Enforcer had pick out for me." Dad playfully punch him in the arm and they both started to laugh.

"One more round guys, and you can go take a break." Dad said to us. "Ok Robyn, duck and jab." Hase starts the timer and dad and Robyn get in their respectful positions.

Dad run at Robyn with full force, throwing a fire ball at her. She duck just in time and went down on one knee, then she spin on said knee and jabbing dad in the abdomen, but not hard enough to hurt him.

"Very good Rob." He help her up off of her knee.

"And her time is good as well, better then her times this morning and time from other training sessions." Hase congratulate her. Robyn beam from ear to ear.

"Dai, let me see what you got." Dad stand in a defensive mode and Hase starts the timer again. "I want you to use your telekinesis to throw me against the opposite wall before I have time to freeze you in." Dad put his hand forward and his palm wide open in Dai's direction, his feet starts to become frosted with ice, and we all see the panic set in Dai's face. He use his mind and push dad across the room, he fall hard against the wall and slide down into the matted floor. Dai struggles against the ice that holds his feet togather, shivering a bit.

"I thought you guys powers don't affect one another." Robyn touch the ice on Dai's feet before pulling her hand back, blowing on her fingers to warm them up.

"We are immune to each other's powers, but I guess with this freezing power he has." I point to my dad, who is shaking the dizziness from his head. "Dai and I aren't immune to it."

"That is correct, and Dai. Your time is a bit slow, the slowest of all your times. Never get caught of guard, it will be your down fall." Dad told him, giving back the timer to Hase. "Miayana, you are up. I want you to use your mind reading ability-oh wait, that doesn't have an effect on me...but-"

'My telepath powers does.' I spoke in his head, catching him off guard. He stood there with his mouth and eyes wide open as I prob around in his mind. I then did a round house and kick him hard against one of the punching bags.

"I can't believe that you were going to sink me into the ground." I run over to him and help him up off of the ground.

"H-how is that possible?" He mutter, looking at me bewildered. "Your powers should not have affect me like that, and that mind probing thing is scary and uncomfortable." He cautiously walk away from me.

"That might have been a surprise to watch, but her time was good. She has the fastest time." Hase smile at me, giving me a thumbs up.

"Indeed, she is remarkable." Dad mumble, looking at me.

He never broke eye contact and I started to feel weird from his looks, I clear my throat and dad snap out of his trance.

"Can we take a break now, we have online classes remember, pandemic and all."

"Sure, go ahead." He shoo us away.

"Wow, you really have dad's head in a knot." Dad fling his arm around my shoulders. "How did you do that away?"

I shrug. "I don't know, and plus he has freezing powers that can freeze us. It is only fair that we have that advantage as well."

Dai nods in agreement and we continue on our way up to the penthouse, using our personal hyperlift express elevator.

Zoom classes is what we have to work with now, because of the pandemic we can't have face to face classes, therefore I am stuck with about sixty add of my fellow classmates having an open view to where I live. I must admit that I have done online classes before, but there were always fewer people that register for it. But now, it is mandatory. Everyone has to do online classes. And believe me when I say, some of these persons take our classes to a whole new level. You have the judgy snooty persons that judge other people's home, and you have those persons that do the weirdest things when lectures are in sessions. Even in some of their back grounds, you sometimes see people walking around inappropriately or making noise.

The city has been on look down for about three going into four weeks now, and I go out as Insight more than how I can go outside as Miayana. You have people out in the city who doesn't want to abide by the rules, so the police have been busy getting that situation under control. There have only been one person who is infected with covid, and that is a woman who just had travelled from Italy. She is in quarantine now, and there are check points at the three airports in the city to test people who are coming into the city. It is a good thing that the lady didn't even make it home to go and infect her family, she had been stopped at the airport to get her temperature checked and she has been isolated ever since.

Unto me and Nathan now, I haven't seen or heard from him since after our date, and I am pretty sad and disappointed. I thought that we clicked, that we had something special. I guess that I was wrong. Robyn keeps on telling me not to worry about it, he might just be too busy from the covid situation to the crime rising in the city. Dad has been grilling me too, saying that I need to focus on the bigger matter in front of me, the League. So I don't have time for a boyfriend right now. How dare he, he has a wife. You don't see me telling him not to go and be with her.

I chew on the top of my pen as I put my mic on mute and turn off the camera so no one will be able to see and hear me in my class, then I sigh sadly.

"Thinking about Nathan again?" Robyn ask, as she muted her own mic. Her camera had been off from she had joined her class earlier.

"No....yes...maybe." I hold my head down and run my fingers through my hair messing it up. "I am sad about Nathan, but I am also worried about this pandemic and more so about the League. They are building androids and turning people into monsters to come after us." I rant.

"Ok sweetie, just breathe." She said calmly.

I follow her instruction and I calm down. "Rob, this is all too much. I never that in my life I would be-"

"Hey, it is ok. Everything is going to be ok, we will get through this togather. And plus, we only have a couple months until we graduate from uni, and we will be free from lectures." She squeeze my hand gently. "Oh man, there will be no graduation ceremony." Her expression drop, but then she perk up again. But we will be kicking some bad guys butts, and we will win. And as for Nathan, he is just busy. So don't fret, ok?" I nodded, and pat her head.

She is right, I need to just relax and not think about any of what is happening.

I am now back at my apartment sore and bruised, dad had us training in the evening again. And oh man, he really up his game. The man threw at fireball at me, it is a good thing that I am fast on my feet or else I would be hairless right now.

"Come on my sweets, come for your dinner!" I call to Molly and Pug, and they came scampering to their correct food bowl.

The microwave dings, signaling that my frozen dinner is done. I open the microwave door and take out the plate, oh how I miss my mom and Apinya's cooking right now. I grab a bottle of grape juice from the fridge and went into the living room and sat down on the couch before turning on my tv, and start to watch an episode of Legends of tomorrow. Thanks to Dai, I am hooked on this series.

About a few minutes of me eating my food, not really enjoying it, and got engulf into the show, I hear knocking at my door. I immediately jump up from the couch and put the show on pause, when I hear the person's thoughts behind the door.

I open the door to see Nathan standing there, he is dress in blue jeans and a grey t-shirt. His hair is a mess on his head, but it still looks good on him. And he smell alot like chocolate.

"N-Nathan, what are you doing here?" I ask. The small smile that he had on his lips wavers.

'Oh God, she doesn't want to see me.'

He thought unhappily in his head.

Why would he think that, I am so overwhelmed right now just because he is standing in my door way right now.

"I um." He take a deep calming breath then looking into my eyes, determination on his face. "Didn't get a chance to do this at the restaurant, so I came here to give you this." He grab my arms and pull me closer to him, smashing over lips togather.

I am so shock that I stood there frozen with my eyes open, it is like the world has stopped and it is only me and him. I finally registered what is happening, and sink into the kiss. It wasn't until he stop kissing me, that I realise that I just had my first very ever kiss and second I have never kiss anyone so I must have been bad at it when I started kissing back.

I look up at him under my lashes, ready to see the disappointment on his face. But the only thing that I see is a big bright smile that would out do the sun.

"Well, I see that you are not mad at me." He mumbles. I look at him skeptically, and he chuckle nervously, rocking back and fourth on the ball of his heels. "Can I come in and I will explain everything to you, I promise."

I step aside and he walk into my apartment, and when I close the door and turn around and am met with another amazing kiss. He pull away after and rest his forehead on my forehead and stare into my eyes with a goofy smile.

"I am sorry that I haven't called you after our date, we have left each other in a really awkward way that night. But it was a work related call that I had received, the van we saw Soul Searcher and Onna chasing that night belongs to a....i don't even know what to call him. Eye witnesses said that his body transformed into metal and he was huge." I scratch my head, and gave him a fake smile.

"Wow really?" I fake like I didn't know what he is talking about.

"Yea, and after that. Reports of weird people started to attacked the city, and I even got a warning from Insight telling me not to let my officers and myself engage with these people. She told me that they are really dangerous and she didn't want me or the officers getting hurt, so I should leave it up to her and her team."

I smile fondly at the memory, I had been really worried after the second attack when the League sent an Android woman after us at the charity event held at one of the city's museum. The police had gotten there before us, and two officers were badly hurt. I had went to pay Nathan a visit at the station telling him to stay back. But he didn't take my warning, they didn't engage much but I know that they are just doing their jobs.

"I want to take her warning, even after two of my men got hurt. But it is my job to protect the city, I took an oath. Then the covid 19 virus hit the world, and the city saw it first and only case thank God. The city went under lock down and crime started to rise again, I just got so busy. But here I am this evening, asking- no pleading for your forgiveness. So please forgive me." He got down on his knees and look up at me with a pout and the most adorable puppy dog eyes I have ever seen.

I want him to sweat a minute just for a good laugh, so I put my hand under my chin and pretend to think about it. When a minute pass and I didn't give an answer, his face morphs into worry and I couldn't stand seeing him like that.

"I forgive you, and FYI. I wasn't mad at you, to tell you the truth. I was worried that I did something wrong and you didn't wanna see me anymore." I said to him. He jump up on his feet and pull me into a tight loving bear hug.

"Thank you, thank you. And remember this, I will never get tired of you."

I laugh at what he said. "Never say never, because I can be stubborn sometimes."

"Well, I like a challenge." He wink at me. I smile at him and he kiss me on the forehead.

Nathan and I are cuddled up togather on my couch watching Legends of tomorrow, him teasing me about being his little super freak. If only he knew. Pug and Molly took an instant liking to him, now here we are. Him with Molly curled up in his lap and purring to her heart content, and Pug laying beside me fast asleep. I am half laying on Nathan's shoulder and he has his arm around my waist, we are there cuddling when my watch suddenly start to beep alerting me of a mission.

I quickly jump up out of Nathan's arm and off of the couch.

"What's wrong?" He ask, his brows knitted in confusion.

Oh no, what should I tell him? My mind is blank, I can't come up with a lie right now. Our relationship just started and I am already lying to him, to be honest. I have been lying to him since we met. Come on Miayana, get your head into the game. Bad guys are on the loose, and you need to go and stop them. I shook my head to clear my mind and then look at Nathan with a bright smile.

"There is nothing wrong."

"Then what is that beeping noise, come to think of it. I heard that beeping sound on the night of our date, it was coming from your watch and then you said that you had to go." He got up and walk closer to me.

The smile waver from my face, and a look of panic replace it. Think fast Miayana, you can't let him find out. That would be one more person to protect from the League if he was suppose to know, either way I still have to protect him from the League. Come on Mia, time is running ou- oh, here is a thought.

"Yea, it is my watch alarm. I set it to alarm when I have to get back to my assignment." He raise a brow at me. "I have this assignment for my graphic design class, and I set my watch to alarm when three hours pass so I can get back to working on it." His face soften, and he lean forward and peck my forehead.

"Ok then, I will go so you can get back to your assignment." He said going to the door.

"No!" I accidentally shouted startling him. "I mean you can stay, I will be finish in a bit."

"Are you sure?"He went back and sit on the couch.

I nodded. "Yea I am sure, I will be in my room. Help yourself to anything in the kitchen." I quickly walk to my room when my watch starts to beep again.

I close the door behind me and breathe a sigh of relief, I quickly tap on my watch and change into my suit. I put my com in my ears then tap on another button on the watch and a hologram of Hase, or should I say Samurai pop up in front of me.

"You are hard to reach tonight." He said to me.

"I am sorry, Nathan is here and I needed to distract him." I Whispers so Nathan couldn't hear me from the living room. "So what's up?" I press another button on my watch to activate my bike, so that it will be waiting for me at the corner of the side of my apartment building. I have also put it in invisible mode so no one will see it.

"There is a break in at the city's art gallery, reports saying that two female with laser coming out of one's eyes and hands, the other with super strength and fire ability are holding two people hostage." Samurai inform me. "Onna and Soul Searcher are already on their way there, and please look out for the Enforcer. I can't reach him either."

"Will do, Insight out." I click of the hologram and jump through my window, but not without checking to see if Nathan is still sitting on the couch and then locking my room door with the lock.

I got to the local art gallery in the knic of time, Soul Searcher is causing a distraction so that Onna could try and help the hostages escape. But their plan wasn't working, the two females is on to their every move. They look like humans but when I try to get a read on their minds, the only the I got was defeat and capture. So androids, the League sent them.

"Hey, over hear creepy!" I yell, riding through the double glass doors and then jumping off my bike as it hyper ride, slamming into the android with the blond hair. Trapping her in between the wall and itself. I smile triumphantly, but stop when that she beast took up my bike and hurl it into the wall across the room. I guess I just ticked of the killer android with super strength. "Hey, that is my favourite bike." The android came at me with full strength, smashing me into the ground. "Ow." I mutter when i hear my own bones cricking.

A fist came at me face, and I roll out of the way just in time for it to hit the floor where I just was.

"Oh, you want to play dirty. It's on." I did a front flip and a side kick, knocking the android in one of the sculptures. Oh crap, I really need to pay for that after this.

The android quickly recover and took up a huge chunk of the sculpture and hurl it at me, but lucky enough Onna came in front of me and use her katana to slice it in two. Wow, I wouldn't want to mess with her when she has that thing.

"Are you ok?" She ask, blocking all the chuck of hard clay the android is throwing at us with her katana.

"Yes, did you get all the hostages out?" She nodded and dive to the side when a huge flame came at us. I had to bend over backwards so I didn't get burnt.

I straighten up again and run close to the android, doing at cartwheel when I am close enough before landing a hard kick to her- it side. It skid sideways across the floor and I hear a loud crash, as it hit the supporting beam a huge sculpture is on and the beam gave way causing the sulpture to fall on top of the android.

"At little help over here!" I hear Soul Searcher yelled. I look over to where he is and see him doing cartwheels and back flips to avoid the lasers the android he is fighting, is firing at him.

I tap into Onna and Soul Searcher's mind, creating a mind link. Something I have been practicing for a month now, in case we are at a disadvantage where we can't use our coms.

'Onna, I am going to see if I can get a few moves in and you try to see if you can slice one of....it's arm off.' Onna nods, swiftly maneuvering her katana from side to side.

I run up to Soul Searcher, mind linking him to crouch down so I can use his back as a ramp to get a better kick at the android, which he comply with.

Up close this android looks better than the one Onna and i was fighting before, this one has curly brown locks with piercing brown eyes and look less evil. She is dress in a blue skinny jeans and a white t-shirt, while blondie is dress in black and look like a soilder going to fight a war. Well she is anyways.

I did a front kick but the android grab my feet, dangling me in the air. I use my flexiablity skills to twist my upper body under my feet, then twist my feet out getting free just in time for Onna to come at her with her katana, but she missed and the android twist her hand around and flip her over onto her back.

"Ow." Onna groan into the mind link.

'We need to come up with a plan, and fast.' I quickly said into the mind link when i saw the other android bursting up from the rubbles of the sculpture and coming towards us.

The two machines come closer to us while we take a step back. We need to out smart them right now so that we can take them down. A light switch goes off in my head, as I come up with a plan.

'Soul Searcher, use your telekinesis to left them in the air and then I will kick them down for Onna to dismantle them with her katana.' They nodded at me and then we put the plan in motion.

"Hey ladies, over here!" Soul Searcher gets their attention. He use his right hand to rapidly lift the blond android and his left hand to lift the brown headed one, he tighten his fists, crushing them a little.

He bring them down to ground level a little bit so I can get a good kick out of them. I did two praying mantis moves sending them forward to Onna but they both did a spin kick and she fall down on her stomach.

"Onna, watch out!" Soul Searcher and I shouted when we saw the android's foot coming down above Onna's head. She rolls out of the way, then dodge three laser shots.

'Insight, see if you can just freeze time for just the android.' She said in the mind link.

"What, I can't do that.' I said. Is she crazy, I have never just froze one person before.

'Please....just...try.' She run and dodge lasers and fireballs that came at her.

I concentrate on the androids only, closing my eyes and then holding my hand forward in the direction of the androids. Palm flat, I think about stopping time for just the androids. Making my palm into a fist, and when I open my eyes, they stand still and Onna smile at me before she run up and swing her katana at the blond android's arm. But they move in slow motion, have you ever watch a movie and it keeps on freezing and then every few seconds it unfreezes. Then, that is how they are moving now.

"What is happening?" Onna ask.

"I don't know, I guess I still need to practice with this ability." I said, my brows scrunch togather as I concentrate hard to keep the androids frozen. "Onna, it is now or never!"

She swing her katana again, and duck as a fireball came at her. But it stop mid air. She did a spin on her knee and impale the android in the abdomen, it went right through and she pull the katana out and then yank out the wires shutting it down.

It started to get pretty hard to keep them time frozen as the other android fight to get free, my hand shakes and then it fall limp at my side. The android got realise and use it eyes to shoot laser at Soul Searcher, I look on in horror as the laser aim right for his chest. But my eyes widen when I see him control it in his palms then turn it into a fire ball, controlling it in one palm then use the other to aim back at the android. The fireball hit it and it stagger a bit giving Onna the perfect

opportunity to decapitate it's head. She then throw me her katana and smile at me.

"Our great leader, you do the honors." I laugh as I caught it and plunge in into the androids chest then harshly yank out her/its wires. It falls to the floor with a loud bang.

"We did it yet again." Onna said, slinging her arm around my shoulders.

"Yep we did, partner." I smile at her.

"Guys, look at this!" Soul Searcher call over to us, excitement lacing his voice.

We turn to him and sure enough, he has a fireball in one hand and a fire grenade in the next."

"That is really cool Soul Searcher, you got dad's fire ability." I said, he laugh but out the fires when we hear the siren of the police car outside the art gallery.

Troopers came in and we pointed over to the the androids, then we went outside but not before I press my bike control on my watch and it follow us outside.

"Hello Insight, I am decective Malone. Chief wasn't available to come on duty tonight, so he told me to kindly ask you what are we dealing with." I look at the guy in front of me, his tall height and broad shoulders not intimidating me at all. But the HCP deserved to know what they are up against, so it is fair for me to tell them.

"The current bizarre attacks the city has been having is because of this secret oragnisation called the League, they sent androids and people they have experimented on to draw us out." I explain to him.

"Why draw out the heroes?" He ask, come on dude, you are a detective for crying out loud.

"Why not, with the heroes around they can't have power over the city. So get rid of us, and the power is all theirs." I bend the truth a little. I can't tell him the real reason, the would blame us for putting the city in danger. My expression sadden a bit when that thought cross my mind, it is our fault and we are putting the city in danger.

"Ok, thank you Insight. I will let the chief know." 'Wow she is hot.' His thought made me laugh and he look at me weirdly. Sorry buddy, but I am already taken.

"Enforcer?" I called confused.

"Insight, a word." The Enforcer said, signaling me over.

"Looks like your boss needs you." Dectecive Marlone said to me.

"He is not my boss... because I am the boss." I walk backwards towards my dad.

He gave me a salute, then turn back to the scene.

"Dad, where were you?" I ask, when I reach over to him.

"Apinya was attacked today." He said.

"What!" Soul Searcher ask in shock. "Is mom alright?" Worry took over his face.

"Yes, she just receive some cuts and bruises on her leg."

"It was the League wasn't it." I said more as a statement then a question.

Dad nodded. "I had to tell Apinya...about everything."

"Everything?" The three of us ask.

"Yep, I thought that I would be protecting her if she doesn't know, but I guess I was wrong. Because she got hurt any way."

"So, does Samurai know what happened?" I ask him.

"Yes, and that is why we moved the base to this warehouse i own. No one but Hase and me knows about it, so after I told Apinya everything, Hase and I transported everything at the old base to the warehouse." We nodded in understanding.

"Where is mom now?" Dai ask, worry still in his voice.

"She is at the warehouse with Hase, I will give you the location and you can go and check it out." Dad tap his watch and then a notification beep can be heard on Soul Searcher's watch.

"I got it, come on guys." Onna and I walk after Soul Searcher but dad hold my arm and stop me.

"I need you to come with me." I look in his eyes, wondering where he wants me to go with him.

"Where are we going?"

"To the police station, I want you to wipe Isla's mind from knowing who we are." What is he asking of me, I can't wipe people's mind.

"What, I can't do that. I have never wipe someone's mind before."

"Insight, you always doubt yourself. But what you don't know is how powerful you are. Your mind powers are out of this world, and there are so much things you can accomplish with them. They are far beyond my own abilities, so you are the only one who can do this."

I sigh giving in. "Alright, I will try." We told Soul Searcher and Onna about our plan, and they wish us luck before leaving.

Dad and I arrive at the police station, and we request a private room to take to Isla in. Dad stay outside the room, and I close the door behind me causing Isla to look up, a smirk forming on her mouth.

"Well well well, if it isn't miss Insight herself. Or should I say-" But I didn't give her a chance to finish, as I use my pointer and index fingers and place it on her forehead, tapping into her mind.

Ok Insight concentrate, just think about drawing something and then erasing it to an empty blank canvas. I search through her mind, then tap into her memories. The one about our secret. I concentrate real hard making everything blurry. My mind became a frenzy, and I felt a splitting headache coming on. Everything became intense and then blank, and I pull back with a deep intake of breath. I open my eyes and everything is silent, only thing I can hear is my heavy breathing.

I quickly look over at Isla, her head hang low and she wasn't moving. Oh my gosh did it work, or did I harm her?

I slowly reach out to touch her, but retract my hand when she jump up with a loud gasp.

She look at me with confused eyes. "Who are you?" It worked.

"The last face you will see before you go to prison for attempting murder of Apinya Hesketh." I said to her.

She growled at me, trashing a bit before realising that she is handcuff to the table.

"Well she desverd everything she got, she stole MY future husband!"

"Well too bad, she got the man while your are going to prison."

"I will get my revenge on her." she roar out.

"Ok, well good luck with that." I said before turning and walk out of the room. "It is done." I said to the Enforcer.

"Thank you." He patted me on the shoulder, his face void of all emotions. Who is this guy, the Batman? Come on dude, I did something great in there just a while ago. I need more than a pat from you.

"I love you dad." He pull me into a side hug and kiss me in my hair.

"I love you more sweetheart."

'Aww.' I mind link him, causing him to chuckle.

I look around the police station and something suddenly click. Wait, I left Nathan at my apartment. Oh crap.

"So are you coming to check out the new base?" Dad ask.

"Sorry Enforcer, but I can't. I left Nathan at my apartment." I whisper.

He nodded in understanding. "It is ok, and I am sorry that I told you not to see him. It was wrong of me, you deserve to have a life out of this hero business." I hug him again.

"Thank you dad." We walk out of the station togather.

I climb through my window in a hurry, thinking of an excuse to tell Nathan. I close the window behind me and lock it.

"When were you going to tell me?" The voice behind me startled me.

I whirl around in shock and nerves pulse through my body.

My mother stood in front of me with her hands on her hips, and a hurt and angry expression on her face.

"M-mom, what are you doing here? How did you get in?" I ask nervously.

"I have a key, and that handsome chief of police guy that you are dating- thank you for not telling me about him either, almost drop kick me because he thought that I was breaking in."

"Where is Nathan now?"

"He went out to look for you after we knock on your room door and didn't get any answer, so he kick it down and the room was empty. We tried your cell phone, but it is right over there." She pointed to my phone on my desk. "The city is on lockdown, so he thought that something happen to you so he went out to find you. He is so worried, I was worried. Only to see you coming into your room through your window dressed in Insight's costume. So you are going to stay right where you are and explain everything to me, and then you are going to call Nathan and tell him what happened."

I gulp when I hear her tone of voice and the cold look in her eyes, she means business and I know not to lie to her because she will know. My sister and I always fear that tone and look when we were younger. I guess the jig is up, my mom found out, I guess it's time to come clean.

"Ok mom, I will tell you everything. Just let me change first." I tap the change button on my watch for my suit, and it change me back into the clothes I had on before. My mom eyes widen in amazement. "Ok mom, I will start from the beginning.
