Chapter 1Graveyard (Edited)

Sorrow, agony, torment, pain, and all other bleak emotions describe the present moment of my life. But do these words truly capture my inner turmoil?

To an outsider observing me, it may seem as though I am consumed by grief, but in reality, what I feel is a seething anger.

Throughout my three lifetimes, I have never truly experienced the depths of sorrow. Even when my parents and brother passed away, my anger was the only emotion that I could muster. And even in death, my fury remained unquenched.

Now, this so-called "teacher" has passed away without imparting any valuable knowledge, leaving me alone in a world that is still unfamiliar to me.

As the sky reverberates with thunder and the rain pours down in heavy sheets, I am left to contemplate the meaning of my existence.

For whom do I live? Do I have anyone who truly belongs to me? Is there a place that I can call home? Do I have any genuine friends? What is the purpose of my never-ending existence?

These thoughts haunt me endlessly.

With each crack of thunder, the rain intensifies, and a shadowy figure materializes in the distance to my left.

I turn my gaze from the grave before me towards my left and see a shadow standing before me in a martial pose, with one hand clenched in a fist and the other palm colliding in front.

These shadows are a part of my soul. To be precise, one per cent of my soul is made up of hundreds of these shadows.

The more soul energy I use, the more powerful they become. They can fight and think, but they lack emotions and the ability to speak. They are living puppets with one sole purpose: to take life.

'My liege, your teacher left some of his belongings which he wished for you to see,' a telepathic message reaches me, conveyed by the shadow in my presence.

I nodded, observing its expressionless eyes, before turning towards the exit.

Since arriving in this world, I have kept myself hidden, not out of fear, but to study and understand this new world.

The era I now inhabit is the 90s, a golden era before the rise of technology. However, the world is not peaceful due to the existence of devils, creatures that constantly haunt and terrorize normal people.

But normal people only make up ninety per cent of the population, while the remaining ten per cent are Aurors, individuals with the ability to utilize energy in their surroundings.

They are powerful, highly respected, and have their own society.

My suspicions that this world was a novel I once read were confirmed when I learned of the existence of Cypress Academy.

The academy's purpose is to train, educate, and grow Aurors, and it is one of the five best academies in the world, with the plot revolving around it.

The sound of car doors opening interrupted my thoughts. I looked up to see a convoy of three identical 1990 Rolls-Royces, surrounded by nineteen Hummers on both sides, a display of immense wealth.

This wealth had been accumulated by me over the course of five years.

I didn't start from scratch; the old man who deemed himself my teacher owned an entertainment and media firm. Both of these sectors are strong when utilized in a perfect manner, and that is how I created my group, the Caraxes Group.

It is now a corporation that controls twenty per cent of the world's economy and is one of the richest, most trusted, and highest gross profit-generating corporations, with which every firm in the world wants to be associated.

I took a seat in the back of one of the sedans, and the doors closed. The vehicles then began to move forward, taking me to my next destination.

Next to me on the seat was an envelope. I picked up the envelope, opened it, and found a sheet of paper with handwriting on it, along with another smaller envelope.

I gripped the sheet of paper and pulled it out as I started reading the words written on it.

'Listen up kiddo, I know you are different. I know you are not from this world; I know the way you view this world is different from what I did.'

'And honestly, I don't care for any of it. I never considered you my student, I thought of you as an asset and you knew that I thought that way.'

'But even if I didn't teach you a single thing, I'll say one thing – If you hate this world, then change it to the way you want it to be, never ever think of compromises. Men do not compromise, they burn the whole thing if they don't like it, and you…you do exactly that.'

'This world, the people that live in it, every single one of them has a demon inside of them, some are able to suppress that demon, some are not, and succumb to their desires. So, don't think too much about what is wrong and what is right because, if you have power, whatever you do will be considered right!'

'Now, the last thing, On the backside of this page is the list of women whom I had fun with, compensate them for the emotional loss that occurred due to my death.'

With that, his will ended. I turned the page and saw a list of a hundred and twenty-five women whom he had sex with the whole time I was busy making money.

I went through the list and found out that three names were familiar, apparently, they were the names of the mothers of female leads.

"Well, at least you contributed to the prologue!", I muttered with a chuckle.

I set the will aside and examined the smaller envelope, its seal bearing the prestigious mark of the Cypress Academy.

As I suspected, it was an offer letter, a rare privilege bestowed only upon the most gifted individuals. The instructors themselves personally evaluate the talents of the cadets before extending such an invitation, a testament to the elite status.

"Now you see?" she shouted in a mix of annoyance and disappointment. "You can't outsmart Scrients! They're the most intelligent beings across the two realms." "You're right," I muttered, averting my gaze with a heavy sigh. "I made a mistake. I was too arrogant to think that a mere human like me could fool them." —BOOM!! "Heik! Wh-What was that?" "Hmm? I'm not sure. Maybe you should go and ask the most intelligent beings across the two realms. Oh wait, you can't. I killed them all.” ______ My name is Samael Kaizer Theosbane. On the last day of high school, I got into a fight with a kid I used to bully. It was a stupid, pointless scuffle, and in the middle of it, I tripped and hit my head on a rock. That’s when the memories came flooding in - the memories of another life, of a different world. Suddenly, everything made a twisted kind of sense. I realized two things. First, I was in a game I used to play in my past life. Second, I was a villain. A villain! Not the cool and mysterious kind, either. No, my destiny was to be manipulated and die a dog's death! I was the worst type of cliché: an ungrateful, privileged, insufferable young master. The sort you'd find in those poorly written fantasy stories. The kind everyone hates — a snobby brat from a powerful noble family who thinks he owns the world just because he was born with a silver spoon lodged in his mouth. You know the type. The one the hero beats to a pulp to prove his worth. Yeah, I was that guy. And the hero? The hero was the kid I’d been bullying all this time. The same one I got into a fight with. He was the supposed savior of this damned world. A world teetering on the edge of destruction, beset by wars, calamities, and a grim future that only I knew. And at the end of it all, the final antagonist of the game, the undefeatable boss… the Spirit King, was waiting. But could I even make it to the end? Could I conquer a game where defeat was the only certainty? A game that was now my reality! “Ah, fuck it.” I had no idea if I could, but I sure as hell was going to try. Extorting extras, manipulating main characters, twisting the story to my advantage, stealing the hero’s cheat items, killing villains before they could become threats - nothing was beneath me. Would the main characters be affected? Who cares! Would the story change? Even better! All I cared about was me—my survival, my life, my choices. “I will live this life with no regrets.” …But as I soon discovered, fate was not easily changed. And the price of altering one's destiny was steep. ========== Discord Server: https://discord.gg/VjFQtDUaTR
