Ashley gave Turner a deadpan look. "Mr. Turner and how do you propose that I should teach you how to dodge ?"

"Simple teacher. You just have to tell me first the best way to dodge different attacks and then attack me. I'll try to dodge according to what you have told me. Over time, I'll gain the reflexes to move my body and dodge different attacks."

Turner said while grinning.

Ashley had a small smile on her face. "And Mr Turner why do you think I'll help you ? I have too much work to do. Why should I add another work ?"

"Simple teacher. Because you love to help your students." Turner said while grinning from ear to ear and showing a victory sign to Ashley.

Ashley banged her head on her desk. "Fool."

Truth to be told Ashley was in dire need of teaching a student. Actually , it was compulsory for all teachers of the academy to mentor some students personally each year. In the start, when Ashley had newly joined many students came to her for personal mentoring. But her teaching method, her short temper and constant habit of beating up her students made the students slowly look for other teachers.

In the end , everyone stopped coming to her for personal mentoring and the students gave her the title of "Sadistic Maniac."

Ashley thought that the new students joining would atleast ask her for mentorship but whenever the new students joined their seniors had warned about her.

Infact every new student knew the 3 golden rules of surviving in the academy:

1) Don't bunk classes

2) Never question your teachers

3) Never ask for mentorship from the sadistic maniac

The principal had grilled Ashley about this attitude of hers. Ashley even tried to change it but lets just say it would be easier to crack a rock with an egg than Ashley changing her attitude.

Every year Ashley failed at mentoring some students and every year the principal grilled her.

Well I wont get grilled this time if I teach Turner. Further, his request is also simple. He himself is asking me to beat him up. Yeah, it's like a lamb asking to be slaughtered....I mean a lamb who wants beating so that he would become a stronger lamb.

While thinking about this Ashley forgot that Turner was in front of her and was giving the widest sadistic smile possible.

Turner was getting goosebumps just by looking at her. In his mind he started questioning if this was the right decision or not.

Suddenly Ashley stopped grinning and looked at Turner. " Oh Mr Turner. Yes you are right. I love helping my students. How can I say no to you when you've so politely asked for my beating.. I mean help. Yes when my student needs my bea… uhm help , I'll always be here. Besides you're such a good boy , why wouldn't I help you." Ashley said while wiping a fake tear from her eyes and the emitting the aura of an angel.

Turner gave Ashley a pokerface. His forehead was covered with sweat. She just said that she would beat me. And that too twice. Damn should have just stuck to those golden rules….

"Yes Mr Turner lets go right away to the training room and start your bea…. Training." Ashley held Turner's hand and dashed out of the room.

Ashley was stretching her body.

The training room was completely empty at this time as the day at the academy had already ended.

"Mr. Turner are you ready ?" Ashley asked while cracking her neck.

"Wait. Teacher. You haven't told me how should I dodge your attacks?"

Ashley kept her arms at her waist and looked at the sky. She was lost deep in her thoughts. "Oh Mr Turner, its really easy. If I attack your face, you move your face. If I attack your chest you move your chest. If I attack your legs , you move your legs."

Turner's mouth was open as he looked at Ashley. Is she serious ? She is joking right ?

But Ashley smiled at Turner and gave him a thumbs up.

She is serious....Turner's forehead was now covered in sweat.

"Ready ?" Ashley gave a wide smile at Turner.

"W..Wait." Turner closed his eyes and took deep breaths.

"….Huh ?" Turner was wide eyed. Damn I'm Screwed...

When Turner said huh Ashley thought he meant he was ready.

"Mr Turner , here I come"

Ashley dashed at Turner and punched towards his face.

Turner's talent of thought acceleration started working.

Yes , his talent of thought acceleration's use was not only to help his read things quickly. One needs to ask one question here , how could his thoughts become accelerated by 50 times ? This could only happen when the signaling between his nerve cells in his brain became faster by 50 times.

Nerve cells or neurons are the fundamental units of the brain and nervous system which are responsible for receiving sensory input from the external world, for sending motor commands to our muscles and for transforming and relaying the electrical signals at every step in between.

Simply put whatever his eyes saw in the books, was relayed and analysed 50 times faster by his brain because of these nerve cell's increased efficiency.

But then does it only have to be a book or any written material ? Doesn't this also mean that whatever Turner saw in the outside world , he could analyse it 50 times faster ?

From his minds point of view, whatever he saw got 50 times slower to him. For example if he sees a bird flying in the sky , he would see it flying 50 times slower but in reality the bird would be flying at its normal speed.

This was the true power of his talent of thought acceleration.

But at the same time, it was taxing on his brain too and he couldn't use it 24*7 (else his brain may start paining, or worse stop working). So Turner only used it when it was needed – while reading something or in this case while being in a fight.

Turner's talent of thought acceleration activated.

His eyes could see the punch rushing towards him. To him it looked like Ashley was moving really slowly, and her punch was coming at him with a snail's pace.

hmmm need to block with my hands.

Turner's hands started moving up. But the problem was his talent only sped up his thoughts and not his body simply meaning his body would only move with it's normal speed and only his thoughts accelerated.

The result ? He analysed to block the punch but his body just couldn't keep up with Ashley's speed.

Turner's thought acceleration showed the punch coming towards his face and he knew he couldn't block it because of his lack of speed.

Turner unknowingly closed his eyes when the punch was near as this is the subconscious response the body does.

But the punch never hit. Turner opened his eyes. Ashley was standing with folded hands.
