Chapter 38: The Marks Left Behind
It had been a couple days since Piper’s meet-up with Dalton and just a day since Autumn received a call from the authorities about Micah.
They had called her due to the fact that she was the last person to check in to visit Micah.
“Is this Autumn O’Meere?”
“Yes?”
“This is the front clerk at the police department. You were recently here to see Micah, correct?
“Yes?”
“We wanted to thank you for bringing it to our attention that he had not returned. Since it was unlike him, we took further measures to contact him.
“We wanted to let you know that he was found in his apartment and taken to the local hospital.”
“Oh my goodness, is everything alright?”
“I’m sorry to tell you this over the phone, but I felt you had the right to know. You were there only visitors he’s had and he has no family in the area or on file. If you would like to know details, please head to the local hospital.”
Autumn had done so once she had gotten off of the phone.
