Chapter 33: A Confusing Confession
Autumn and Liam were silent as they drove to the police station.
Liam wanted to ask her about everything that happened with Piper the other night but Autumn seemed distracted.
He didn’t blame her, he had just confirmed that her best friend, his brother, had been lying to her face about the rock.
Well, not technically.
Liam hadn’t admitted the rock was there, he had just shown her the bag of scrapings and that had proved to be enough.
They pulled into the parking lot and out they went.
Once they had their visitor’s passes, they knocked on the lab door and entered.
Micah was in there, looking as if he was doing the same thing as last time.
“Ah, Dalton’s friends,” he greeted once they made their presence known.
Liam noticed the flinch in autumn’s posture when Micah called them ‘friends’ of Dalton.
She was much more tense than she was letting on. Maybe Liam didn’t want to know what Piper had found out.
