Chapter 31: Love And Jealousy
Autumn was confused by Piper’s call that night after work.
“Hey, how did it go?” she had asked when Piper had rang her.
“Um, really interesting.”
“Ok, do you want to talk about it now, or maybe another time?” Autumn asked.
“I think this is a more of face-to-face conversation.” Piper sounded hesitant.
Autumn was instantly worried because the last time she had news that needed to be delivered in person, it was because she was told ‘bad news is better in person.’
“Do I need to be worried?” she inquired/
“No, not really. No sense worrying about something you can’t control. Good news is Dalton is fine.”
“Oh, that’s good.”
Autumn had mentioned she was worried when he hadn’t shown for work.
“Anyway, I’m going to jump off but we can meet tomorrow if that works?”
“Yeah,” Autumn agreed.
She hated that she had to wait, but nothing more she could do.
It’s not like whatever Piper found out would change anything that had happened between her and Dalton.
