The Basics

Kyle stood waiting for her when she hung up the phone.

"Who was that?" he asked. "And you still didn't tell me how you like your eggs?"

Sat in the fridge, untouched by her nemesis–that's how Andrea liked her eggs! Instead, at a loss for what else to say, she simply said, "Surprise me!"

Kyle gave her a beaming grin and snapped a pair of finger guns in her direction. He clearly relished the idea of a challenge. Andrea almost changed her order to something simple. Knowing Kyle, he was going to spend the next hour cooking an elaborate twelve-ingredient omelet or something equally complicated.

"So, what's our first move this morning, partner?" he called from the kitchen as he started grabbing pans and ingredients.

"Partner?" said Andrea. "Since when?"

"Since you agreed to be my lawyer of course."
