CHAPTER 7
The morning was something that was different for Luke as he woke up in the room. He slept in the wild and was not dissatisfied about it. He decided to fight the war. He wanted to break through level 7 and he could only try different methods.
Luke smiled to the Count and sat down on the table. The Count was surprised at seeing such a well-behaved wolf and found the wolf gorgeous. The wolf was a ferocious beast that was not meant to be tamed and he could not understand how the man could tame the beast. Killing a ferocious beast and taming one was a completely different thing. The Count did not know that the man in front of him had absolute tamer skill at level 5 that had associate skills- animal suppression aura, animal friendly aura, animal language and animal association.
Luke did not say much about the wolf and neither did the Count and his family ask more about it. The war was going to be in a week and Luke was asked to accompany the Count. Luke said that he was going to a warrior in the war and will not be responsible for protecting the Count. The children of the count were angry at the irresponsible man. Luke seeing the angry children smiled and said that he was the one who was needed here and not the other way around. There would always be people who are willing to hire him but not everyone can find a strong person like him. He also said that the count just have to be protected by knights and make sure to guide me to the most dangerous place.
The children calmed down and the Count said that this was indeed the best option. Luke ate the food and gave some pointers to the chef at the side. The daughter of the Count wanted to tease the warrior and asked him, "What is something that walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon and three legs at dusk?"
Luke looked at the daughter of the Count and said in a humorous manner, "The answer is human young lady. Such riddles are indeed interesting to hear but sometimes are often based on the basic preconception of the local language. You should be asking better questions."
The young lady looked arrogantly and said, "What would be the meaningful things in your mind?"
Luke smiled and asked, "The king wanted to give a thousand gold coins to a philosopher. The philosopher asked for something else. He asked the king to take a chess board. He wanted the king to place a grain of rice on the first square and two on the second square and fourth square on the third and so on. How many grains does the king have to give the philosopher?"
The young lady could not calculate and neither did the family. They could only keep calculating and thinking as Luke had not given them an answer. Luke just left them to understand the mystery of exponential increase in numbers.
