The black buster-blade spun through a line of cocoon maidens before planting itself in the back of a Chi-You. The bird aragami could not struggle as it was dragged back, by the blade currently moving on its own.
Once it was drug some yards away it fell on its butt, as the blade finally left its chest cavity. Unbeknownst to the aragami Sano was behind it spinning his blade in hand and started winding it up.
Failing to notice, it was bisected from its lower body finding itself floating in the air with no legs. The last thing it saw was Sano's god-arc morphing and opening wide its jaw for it to fall in.
The jagged sounds of crunching and gnawing covered its last screams. Once its upper half was digested, the god-arc gobbled down the legs bone and all.
Wings AND the legs! It's a Fiesta!
Sano morphed his god-arc back into blade form and scouted the surroundings to see a pair of god-eaters not too pleased.
"What?" Sano said.
"WHAT'S THE IDEA OF LEAVING US YOUR SCRAPS!?" Romeo and Nana yelled.
For the past 20 minutes, Sano left a trail of destruction following wherever his god-arc would take him, leaving few preys behind to scatter. Specifically, freeze affinity aragami. Each time Sano would clear out any Aragami he'd lockdown, he told Nana and Romeo to take his leftovers.
They were the only ones who saw it as leftovers though.
Even the Cocoon Maidens Sano cleared were all red indicating they were flame type.
So far Nana and Romeo had only hunted one Fallen Kongou, a pair of Zygotes, and a half-dead yaksha. All of these were shared in between them.
Sano looked at them blankly and heaved his blade on his shoulder.
"If you can't keep up, don't step up." he said, as marched off to his next kill.
The pair fumed as he ignored their shrilling.
"Is he dissing us!?" Romeo snarled.
"No way, we're not taking that lying down, let's go, Romeo!" Nana charged her Hammer and dug her feet into the ground.
"Yeah!!!" Romeo said as he started charging his buster-blade.
In gold streaks the pair charged over Sano, seeing the next aragami. It was a Blazing Gboro-Gboro inspecting some nearby debris.
"This one's mine!" Romeo shouted.
"No way it's all me!" Nana countered.
It looked like either could reach the horn-nosed amphibian first. Nana was about to smash its nose with Romeo but found a tendril slither to the Gboro-Gboro's face. It latched itself right on the nose and pulled the aragami from their path.
Right towards Sano.
The blade formed back on his god-arc and Sano raised his forearm. The beast was cut clean in half leaving the core rolling on the buster-blade. The remains flew to either side of Sano's back as the god-arc gulped the core and morphed back to finish the halves.
The pair of young god-eaters became livid. They ground their teeth and stomped on the ground at the crime committed by the felon before their eyes.
"Sorry were you getting that?" Sano teased. He didn't dare let them see his smirk as he let his god-arc feast on the shark aragami. If Sano was able, he would be honest with not caring about the kill ratio, only letting his god-arc eat its favorite meal. Today just happened to be a good day for Fire Aragami. But why tell the kids that and not have fun?
Did I get greedy on that one? Oh, I can taste the fresh lava on em! MMMMH!
"Heathen!" Nana bellowed re-charging her hammer.
"Swine!" Romeo added, stomping the ground in a tantrum.
Nana and Romeo continued to yell insults to the inmate who still had their back to them. Ignoring their pillaged egos, he and his god-arc stopped cold suddenly. His god-arc swallowed the last of the Gboro-Gboro and Sano slid back between Romeo and Nana.
The two were ready to throw more insults, but noticing the rummaging around them, they put their guards back up.
AHOOOOOOO!
Howls, barks, and snarls echoed in the wind as one by one came bipedal beasts each adorning red manes and stoney fore-limbs. They saw the pack wolf-like aragami Garm en masse.
Sano counted the ones visible and found 6.
Been a while since I've had one of these...
Sano raised his god-arc and pursued the biggest one among them with a smirk.
Seeing this Romeo and Nana nodded to each other and made for their own targets. They silently swore he would not get them all.
Nearby in the main library, Team Julius oversaw their exploits from over yonder.
"He's amazing, wouldn't you say?" Julius said.
"You could say he's "too" amazing." Gill said, suppressing the sarcasm in his words.
"Correct? No matter what kind of god-arc you wield to make such deep cuts into an aragami, mid-size or hire, should be impossible. Even in Burst." Julius said, tightening his gaze on Sano.
"I've asked for the files on Felon 1103 from Dr.Sakaki, I'll have more information on him when we get back. To that end Captain; " Ciel said, keeping a close eye on her companions.
Romeo and Nana, at last, could hinder the Felon God-Eater's killstreak.
They each slew a Garm, but to their dissatisfaction, Sano was already on his third. They hurried to the sixth Garm, desperate to not have Sano kill it.
In the end, Romeo got to it first, but he hit the armored leg making his damage minimal. The armor cracked, but the beast didn't bend. The Garm tried to counter-attack but was swiftly dealt a killing blow by Nana's hammer upon its head.
Romeo grit his teeth. His intention was to sweep through the leg armor and end at its head killing it.
"(How does he do it!?)" Romeo thought furiously, peaking at Sano who already finished off the Garms, and began feasting on them.
"I know you have your misgivings Ciel, but if that proves anything, maybe's he's not what we think." Julius said.
Unbeknownst to Romeo and Nana the moment Romeo clashed with the Garm, Sano had his god-arc in both hands ready to throw it at a moment's notice. However, this was unnecessary thanks to Nana.
"That claymore of his is as old as my spear. Mine has been upgraded, but from what I know only his shield is brand new." Gil explained.
"Even more curious." Julius replied, stroking his chin in thought.
"Sir, an incoming call from Hibari." Ciel's phone rang and her teams as well.
This is a broadcast on all channels to all god-eaters. There is a predicted Red Rain event across the span of the South-West, ranging from 80-280mi. All God-Eaters in the danger zone are to wrap up their mission in hand and return to base or the nearest shelter. This is Hibari Takeda signing out, be safe.
The broadcast ended and the three nodded to one another intensely.
Julius received a ring on his device and pressed the speaker button.
"One moment Nana." Julius said as he turned to Ciel.
Ciel closed her eyes and a red glow blinked as she opened them again. It was gone as quickly as it came and turned to her Captain with a salute.
"We're all clear sir, no other aragami except for the Kabbalah Kabbalah." Ciel said affirm.
"Nana, you and the others head for the library, we're taking out the Psion and moving out." Julius ordered taking the lead to the bookcases.
"Yes, sir!" Nana said.
"And Nana, don't let the Inmate out of sight. For the 4th time." Ciel added, making her cringe with Romeo and Gil.
Nana looked at Sano apologetically, but he already waived it off and beckoned them to follow the order speedily.
They sped off into the corridors of the library, looking for signs of their comrades.
"Nana on your 3 o'clock." Ciels voice rang from Nana's phone.
Sano, Nana, and Romeo turned to their right to see Ciel and Julius standing at a gap between two shelves.
They arrived at their destination and down the rows of books was the Kabbalah rummaging around for debris.
"In one clean rush, we'll take care of the Psion. Everyone goes in two at a time. Gil attacks with Romeo. After which Gil will activate his Blood Power. Ciel attacks with Nana and Sano and I will finish it off. Aim for precise critical points. Understood?" Julius commanded.
They all nodded and heaved their weapons in preparation the assault.
"GO!" Julius shouted.
Gil and Romeo rushed to the bearded shaman while its back was turned. Gil began charging his spear and turned to Romeo.
AAAAAAARRRRGHH!
Before he could get in a word to Romeo, he started charging yelling madly as he reared his buster-blade, out-pacing him.
"Hold it, Romeo, slow down! I need time to charge up!" Gil shouted, trying to adjust his balance.
Gil's words seemed to be ignored as Romeo slammed his sword into the aragami's side.
It cut in a 4th of the way at best.
The Kabbalah noticing the sudden pain, let out a cry of its own.
RAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!
Sano felt two things.
His god-arc kept going light and heavy.
Secondly, the power from the Max Status Burst was dropping.
OH!!!! HERE AGAIN!
Sano looked between each member of Blood, noticing that none of them felt the first.
The aragami turned around and forced Romeo aback with his god-arc flung aside.
"(It still didn't work! I even aimed for the softest part of the body!)" Romeo inwardly yelled.
"Fine, I"ll follow up with this! RESONATE!!!" Gil held up his spear and red energy pulsed as the weapon finished its charge. Gil charged straight for the corner of the Kabbalah's jaw. This attack tore through the whole left side of the Psion exposing the plaster-like oracle cells under the skin.
As Ciel and Nana prepared their attack. Sano felt the effects of Gil's Blood Power. His muscles felt lighter yet stronger. His whole body was coursing with a new energy.
POWER!
"MORE!!! POWERRRR!!!" Sano charged his buster-blade to its maximum and with the effect of the Kabbalahs buff and Gil's resonance, Sano charged past Nana, Ciel, and Romeo, leaving Julius in the dust.
Once before the aragami, Sano slammed down his god-arc and the Psion was torn asunder. The force of the slash sent flying the halves of the creature and they disintegrated in the air.
In response, there was nothing but silence from the members of Blood.
