The Insurgency

Captain Cold:

"Motherfucker," I say once I see what we just entered. My feet barely hitting the floor, we're all already surrounded from each damn side by One Earth soldiers and regimes. Seeing their precious leader holding someone important, I aim my cold gun at him and fire.

My ice beam hitting the son of a bitch right in his back, he screams before letting go of "The Man". Dropping onto the ground, he quickly takes down a few soldiers as he makes his way to us.

"What took you," he asks, slamming a soldier's head into his rising knee.

"Sorry," I reply, aiming down the top of my gun. "But your girlfriend was very insistent that she come too."

"My girlfriend? What? What are you talking about--What! Kara is not my girlfriend! She is not my girlfriend! Do you hear me? No! Not! We're not dating! She isn't my girlfriend! She is not my--!"

"I got it," I yell, shutting The Man up. "Supergirl is not your girlfriend and we are fuc--."

Out of nowhere, The Man hits me in the back of the head.

"Don't swear," he says, before pulling something out of his dozens and dozens of pockets. The something looks like a bunch of black marbles, he tosses them onto the ground. Exploding once they hit the ground, thick grey smoke clouds engulf us.

"Spread out and take down the soldiers," The Man says. "Move fast and don't let them box you in."

All of us nodding our heads, we run out from the clouds and start fighting.

"Kill them all," Superman orders.

His regimes and soldiers following, I switch the dial on the side of my cold gun and fire at a crowd of them. A bright-blue ball shoots out, it explodes only a few feet from the soldiers and freezes all of them.

Firing off a few more ice bombs, I only stop when I hear the war cry of someone coming up from behind me. Rolling out of the way in time, I land on my feet and look at the source of the cry.

"Leonard Snart," Nightwing says, pointing one of his stun batons at me. "We should've killed you long ago."

"Batman's little boy," I reply, pointing the barrel of my cold gun at him. "Or should I say Superman's little boy? Either way, you're a disappointment to your dads."

Seeing some teeth grind against each other, he pulls back his arms and starts running toward me. Wanting to show some backbone, I pull back my cold gun and start running toward him too. Both screaming as we charge, we slam our weapons against each other.

Poison Ivy:

Shooting out my arms, I call forth some nearby roots to tangle themselves around the feet of the One Earth soldiers. Mother Nature succeeding, the soldiers all trip over themselves as they tried to escape.

"No one can beat the plants," I say, summoning forth some more roots to block gunfire from the fallen soldiers. "They have been here long before humans, and they will be here long after."

Hearing non-stop gunfire stop all of a sudden, I then see the roots that shield me get covered in ice. The whole root cracking and breaking apart seconds later, it knocks me to the ground.

"Not if there's a frost in the air," Killer Frost chuckles as she walks to me. "Or in this case, a killer frost."

Killer Frost trying to freeze me, she shoots out her hands and a trail of white smoke comes out. Thinking fast, one of my plant pets sacrifices itself to block her smoke. Jumping in front, my pet freezes before falling and breaking into a thousand pieces.

"Nnooo," I scream, crawling over to the pieces. Grabbing at the pieces and trying to somehow save my pet, I look at Killer Frost as she laughs. Aiming her hands at me again, I think fast like my plant pet and use my fancy suit to summon a vine.

The vine shoots right out of my wrist and I use it to hit Killer Frost's hands out of the way. Freezing a few soldiers, I use the vine again to knock Frost to her feet.

"Hmm," I think, looking at the vine. "I always wonder why Selina used these. I always assume they would be too hard to use. Glad to be wrong."

As Killer Frost pulls herself up, she spread out her hands, mist already falling from them.

The Man:

Knocking out a soldier's leg, he drops to his knees and I wrap my arm around his neck. Lifting him up, I toss him over me and right into the ground.

"Thanks for these," I say, grabbing a few things from his unconscious body. Taking his machine gun, a few grenades, and a pair of handcuffs, I thank him again before leaving.

Aiming down the sight on the top of the gun, I start shooting, careful not to put any holes in anyone but a few dents in their body armor.

A few bending over after being shot, I use the opportunity to turn the gun around and hit them with the butt of it. One soldier manages to recover in time to aim his gun at me but I grab the end of it and push it out of the way.

Swiping out his legs with the machine gun, he yells as he drops to the floor. Yelling again when he sees me, he only stops when I punch and knock him out.

Superman:

As I watch more and more of my soldiers fall at the hands of the man and his thugs, I clutch my fists. My nails digging into my palms, I look at the soldiers still on top.

"Send in reinforcement," I order. The soldiers saluting, they reach into their jackets and pull out some remote controls. Before long, it starts to rain fireballs from the sky.

Dr. Crane:

"No," I cry, trying to help Supergirl but Supergirl slapping me away. "The answer is still no. Stop asking me."

"I'm okay," Supergirl says, once again slapping me away.

"I just want to be sure. According to the books and The Man's journals, being hit with lightning, whether from the sky or from a crazy bald man with magic, could bring a whole set of problems; muscles pain, broken bones, burns, heart failure, and so on."

"Black Adam hit me with his lightning before and I was fine enough after to fight. Speaking of fight, you need to send me back. You didn't see it. There are soldiers and regimes everywhere. Even with the added help, it won't be enough."

"The Man's orders," I say, looking Supergirl right in her face. "I will not disobey them. No matter what."

"Uhh," Higgin interrupts, the infirmary's monitor still on. "Dr. Crane, you may want to rethink that."

"What," I ask, walking over to the monitor. Higgin's silhouette switching over shows me what looks like a live feed from Harleen's base. In the base are The Man, Reverse-Flash, Cheetah, and everyone else putting up more than a fight against the soldiers and even the regimes. As more and more soldiers go down, out of nowhere, these fireballs rain down from above.

"Oh no," Supergirl says from behind me.

"What," I ask, looking at her and the monitor. "The fireballs? What's wrong with them? They're missing everyone."

"They aren't fireballs," Supergirl answers. "There are betas."

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope by the time you're reading this, your stomaches are filled with turkey and mashed potatoes. Thank you
