4 Car Trouble

Flash:

"My god," the man in sunglasses says as he drags me along. "How much do you weigh, Tubby? Aw man, I know you speedster need to eat a lot, but you also need to run a lot. You don't do much of the latter, do you?"

"Shut up," I yell, pushing myself off the man and stumbling for a bit. The second I regain my footing, I close my fists and prepare for a fight. "Okay. Answer me this. Who are you? What was in that black smoke from before? Are you a regime?"

"Not important," the man replies, counting his fingers. "Will tell you later. No. Now, if you'd excuse me."

The man then bumps me asides and walks right up to a nearby car. Without any warning whatsoever, he smashes open the window with his elbow. Reaching in, he unlocks the car and jumps in. Supergirl and I watch as he quickly hotwires the car, the engine coming to life in a matter of seconds.

"Get in," the man orders, pointing at the backseat.

"What," I say, "Why? I have super speed."

"And Kara can fly," the man replies. "So what? What's your point? Get in."

"I can outrun this car and any other cars. Besides, I'm not getting in a car with you. Not until you tell me your name or what is it you want?"

"What I want is for you to get your stupid butt in this car before someone sees us. Someone that could possibly cause us a few issues."

"Too late," Supergirl says, pointing toward the end of the street. There, standing directly in the middle of the road is a venomous Bane, his massive muscles pulsing and glowing both green and purple.

"For the record," the man says, now pointing at me. "I blame this on you, Speedy."

"Flash," Bane screams, his voice echoing throughout the empty streets. "Superman had ordered me not to hurt Supergirl but he didn't say anything about you. Before I hand you over, I will first break you."

"Hey," the man screams, getting out of the car. "Listen here, Muscles. If you want Kara, then you gotta get through me. Be warned though, I ain't no cheat with a juiced body. My strength is all natural."

Slamming the door shut, the man accidentally breaks the three other car's windows.

"Oh," he says, backing away. "I did not mean to do that. It's fine. We'll get a new one."

"No time," Supergirl says, pointing toward Bane as he charges toward the three of us. His footsteps cause earthquakes as he runs, he then swings his massive fist as soon as he is close enough. The man, Supergirl, and I all get out of the way and dodge Bane. Jumping back, I run around Bane and grabs at one of his venom tubes. Seeing this, Supergirl lands beside me and grabs another tube. Together, we pull and pull, but no matter how hard we do, neither of us could pull out any of the tubes.

Laughing, Bane grabs my arm and throws me over himself.

"I have fallen for that trick one too many times," Bane laughs, "Reinforced tubing. Even your friend, the Green Arrow, cannot cut them."

"Maybe Barry and Oliver can't," Supergirl says, her eyes glowing bright red. "But I bet I can."

Aiming at Bane's venom tubes, Supergirl fires two laser beams but before they can cut the tubes, Bane rolls out of the way. Supergirl missing, she's about to shoot again but before she can, Bane pulls something from his pocket.

"Don't worry Supergirl," he laughs, "I didn't forget about you. Here, this is a gift from your primo."

Bane throws a piece of green, glowing kryptonite at Supergirl, and almost immediately, the radiation from it forces her onto her knees. Her eyes lost their glows and she screams as she falls. I rush to try and help Supergirl but Bane grabs my arm and stops me. He pins me against the ground with one arm and pulls back his other arm.

"Buencas noches, Flash," Bane says, just before some lights appear and grab his attention. "Que?"

Looking up, the car from before, the same one that the man had hotwired, somehow shoots up from the ground and slams itself into Bane. Knocking Bane back, the car also frees me and the second I can, I run to Supergirl's side.

"Don't worry," the man says, peeking out the window. "We're getting a new one so what happens to this one doesn't matter."

His head disappearing back into the car, he backs up a few feet before driving forward. Bane, still trying to recover from the attack, is defenseless as the man once more rams into him. Falling onto the hood, Bane rolls over the car and drops behind it. The man stops, the tires coming to a screeching stop, then backs up.

Backing up, the man may have hit Bane, but not with enough speed. Despite hitting Bane in his chest, Bane is still standing. He grabs and lifts the car but its trunk. Holding it high above his head, the man jumps out, doing a barrel roll before landing a few feet away.

"What is the little man going to do now," Bane laughs, "When he doesn't have his car?"

"This," the man says, turning around to run away.

"What," I yell, watching as the man runs around a corner and disappears. "Where is he going? Uh. I knew we couldn't trust that guy. I knew that guy would betray us. I knew he was--."

Stopping when I hear a loud beeping, I look around. The beeping, whatever it is, seems to be getting louder and faster. Following my ears, I turn toward the car Bane is still holding.

"Barry," Supergirl moans, getting up and standing in front of me. "Get down."

Realizing what's about to happen, Bane tries to throw the car but it's too late. The car explodes and turns into a massive fireball that sent him flying all the way to the other end of the street, where he was standing to begin with. The ground shakes as Bane lands, and there's smoke rising. The smoke fades away after a while, I can now see a smoking, twitching, unconscious Bane.

"Jesus Christ," I say, slowly getting up as I look at the smoking and burning wreckage that was once a car. "That was, that was one strong bomb."

Still staring at the burning wreck of a car, I forget about it when Supergirl drops into my arms.

"Supergirl," I yell, watching her. "Supergirl."

"Kryptonite," Supergirl moans, her skin looking pale and her voice almost nothing. She lifts her shaking fingers and points at the piece of kryptonite Bane threw earlier. Fading now, I look at the kryptonite. Thinking fast, I gently place Supergirl down and pull back my foot. About to kick the kryptonite as far away as I can, I stop when I hear another car engine. A pair of headlights coming on, I quickly put up my hand.

"What the hell," I say, looking through the blinding lights and seeing the batmobile only a foot away from me.

"No way," I think, my hands falling to my sides. "It's, it's the batmobile. Bruce?"

"Not exactly," a familiar voice answers. The top of the batmobile opens and the man with the sunglasses jumps out. "While I am tall and moody, I don't wear a cowl to hide my identity. Just a pair of sunglasses. Now, come on.

The man then snaps his fingers right in front of my face.

"Grab Kara and put her in the batmobile," he says, "Then get in yourself Unless you rather run."

Turning away from me, the man then walks around. Meanwhile, I just stand still for a second before reluctantly doing as he said. I carefully place Supergirl in the backseat before taking the front passenger seat.

"Time to go," the man says, jumping in and driving away.
