Killer Croc:
"You smell him," Cyborg asks, the two of us reaching the fifth floor.
"Yes," I reply, giving the air another hard sniff. "He's close by. Really close by. This way."
Walking down the hallway, I follow the Flash's scent, all the way to one of the apartment's doors.
"Knock, knock," I say, breaking down the door and charging in. Growling, I look around before Cyborg walks in, his arm cannon ready.
"I thought that nose of yours was foolproof," Cyborg says, deactivating his cannon. "There's no one here you stupid animal!"
Growling at Cyborg, I smell the apartment once more.
"He was here," I say, "And so was someone else. I'm picking up two scents."
"That can't be right," someone says from behind. Turning around, I see a little man with sunglasses walk into the room. "Last time I was here, there were three people, not two."
"It's him," Cyborg screams, reactivating his arm cannon. About to fire, the man charges forward and stabs his cannon with something small and metal. Screaming, Cyborg's cannon crackle with electricity before bursting into smoke.
Shoving him aside and slamming him a wall, the man then rushes toward me. Picking up a tray of half-eaten foods from the ground, he slams it into my face. Screaming and stumbling back, I couldn't do anything when he kicks my knee and forces me onto the ground.
"Thanks for the warmup you two," he screams, turning and leaving us. "But now, I really have to go. Catch up if you want another beating. Later Cyborg. Bye Killer Croc."
Leonard Snart:
Five Minutes Prior
My finger on the trigger of my cold gun, I am more than ready to kill either of these two if they so much as bats an eye.
"I ain't joining the Insurgency," I say, "Not after what this motherf--"
Clearing his throat and cutting me off, 'Four-eyes' put up his hand.
"Excuse me," he says, "But if you could please not say what it is you were about to say, I would really appreciate it. I don't like swearing, cursing, or bad words."
Looking Four-eyes right in his sunglasses, I raise my cold gun and aim it right at him. Firing, something happens and instead of seeing a frozen nerd, I instead see a bunch of white smokes.
Screaming as I jump back, I look back to see the smoke is gone and the man not frozen.
"Okay," he says, putting up one finger. "First, just as you fired, I pulled some steam pellets from my jacket and threw them. They can heat the surrounding area to almost 225 Fahrenheit. For the record, the boiling point of water is 212. Second, before the tickle in my throat, I believe you were about to say 'Not after what this douchebag did'. Right?"
"Not after what this 'douchebag' and his regime buddies did to my sister. Happy?"
"I'm bursting with joy," Four-eyes replies.
"Your sister," Flash repeats.
"Lisa Snart," Four-eyes answers. "She was killed by Wonder Woman during Superman's first reign."
"Don't you dare say her name," I say, aiming my gun at the guy again. About to fire again, the man grabs my wrist and twists it. Screaming, I let go of the cold gun, the man letting go and catching it seconds later. Tossing it behind him, he then grabs my shirt collar and pulls me close.
"Listen Snarty," he starts, "I know you got some personal 'issues' with old speedy here, but guess what I do not care! Here is what's going to happen! You, me, and speedy are going to the parking lot, where we will get in my car and drive away. Now, unless you want--"
Stopping all of a sudden, he lets me go. Walking to the door, he places his ear against the door. He then places his ear against the floor a few seconds later.
"What the hell is he doing," I whisper.
"I have no idea," Flash replies. "It looks like he's listening for something but what exactly."
"We got company," the man screams, shooting up. Stomping his foot against the floor, he shot a thumb-up at it. "Thanks for the heads-up y'all. Come on, change of plan."
Grabbing my cold gun, the man aims it at my 'sensitive spot'.
"Snart, there is something you need to know about me. Unless I have some cards in my hand, I do not bluff. You and Speedy here will go to my car and wait for me. I will stall some regimes. If you do not, I will shoot at that place."
Squeezing the trigger slight, mist begins forming at the end of the barrel.
"Okay," I scream, "Fine! You win! I'll go!"
"Awesome!"
Shoving the gun into my chest, he grabs Flash, and I push the two of us out. Stumbling into Barry, I steady myself and shoot daggers at him.
"Hey Fidos," the man says, clapping his hands in front of us and pointing down the hallway. "There's a bone in my car! Go fetch!"
The Man:
Now
Hearing some screaming coming from the walls and the floor, I stop at the top of the stairs.
"Don't worry," I say, pulling a test tube from my jacket. "I didn't forget our deal. I just rather be far away enough that while giving it to you guy, I won't get shot."
Opening the test tube, filled with a sweet green juice, I pour it near a mousehole. Within seconds, some mouses and roaches crawl out to drink it.
"Thanks again for the head-up," I say, waving at the little guys. Getting an idea in my head, I pull out two more tubes.
"Don't suppose you guys want more? I doubt I'll come back here so this may be your only chance."
Cyborg:
"The man hit a weak point in my arm," I say, examining my arm. Pulling out a fork wrapped in tin foil, I toss it aside. "The fork and tin foil disrupt the flow of electricity through my arm cannon. He hit precisely where it would work. How? Hardly anyone besides myself knows about that weak point. Who is he?"
Seeing the big animal screams and stumbles around as he wipes his face, he slams his fist against the wall, slamming right through it.
"I'm going to kill that man," Killer Croc says, running to the door. "Come on! Before he can get too far!"
Running after him, we stop when a bunch of rats and roaches suddenly rushes out. Like something out of a horror movie, they climb up Killer Croc and me!
Barry Allen:
"Friend of yours," Captain Cold asks, looking up after hearing someone screams.
"He's not a friend," I reply, jumping off the stairs and into the lobby. "Uh! I can't fight like this! If I use my super speed, I burn right through these clothes! Why did the guy change me!"
"Change you," Cold repeats, peeking a corner, "What are you? 1 year old?"
"At least this 1-year-old knows how to take out the trash," I whisper. Cold giving the signal, I follow him through the lobby. Stopping when I see the doorman from before, I check his pulse. It's weak, but he is still alive. Letting out a sigh, Cold tap the front desk.
"Didn't know you still care about that kind of thing," Cold says, "You know. About people's lives."
"Hey," I say, "I changed. In case you've forgotten, I switched sides. At least I didn't join up with a team with an assassin, a killer gorilla, and a lady that cares more about plants than humans."
"Yeah," Cold replies, "Keep telling yourself that."
Propping him up against the wall, I then follow after Cold as he leaves the building.
"Where's your car," Cold asks the second we are out and in the parking lot. About to point, a lightning strike from out of nowhere stops me.
"Barry Allen," Black Adam says, slowly hovering toward us, his body pulsing with electricity. "And Leonard Snart I see. I will capture the two of you and turn you into regimes! With your added power, his army will become even strong!"
"Yeah, bite me Sparky," Cold screams, aiming his cold gun at Black Adam. Firing and hitting Adam dead on, ice encases him and he drops to the ground. "Power down. Your buddy isn't as strong as he thinks he is."
"Black Adams was never my 'buddy'," I say, pushing him toward the car. Only, as we are walking away, I notice sparks start to flow along the ice. More and more sparks appear, the ice begins to crack.
"Watch out," I yell, using my speed to grab Cold and run, just as the ice bursts and chucks fly all over. Dropping to the ground, I look behind to see Adam rise once more into the sky, his arms pulsing with more electricity.
Shooting out his arms, electricity shot out and went for us. Watching as the lightning is about to hit us, the man rolls out and blocks the lightning!
Hitting his fingers, the man somehow absorbs it, bright lighting circling his body. Fires it back at Adam, the lightning sending him flying away.
"Move, move, move," he says, grabbing and shoving us toward the car. Reaching it, he opens the driver's door and gives us these small silver discos.
"Time to change," the man says, slamming a disco against his own chest. Once on, something looking like clothes spread out from his chest, covering the man completely. Now, instead of a jacket and brown pants, the man had on body armor and knee pads. His sunglasses are replaced with a black mask and yellow and red google.
"What the--," Cold yells, looking at the disco in his hand. "How did you do that? What is this thing?"
"Shut up and change," the man replies, pointing at Cold. "The fact that this whole time, you have been in nothing but shorts and a sleeveless shirt has been driving me crazy! You're half-naked! Now change and fight Captain Cold!"
Happy Valentine Day everyone! I hope you enjoy this chapter, I hope it brought you a bit of delight, and I hope you leave a review. Thank you.
