MADDY'S POV

Emma and I were on our way to meet Liv and Val when I got a phonecall. It was from David.

How clingy can one be?

I ask myself.

I picked up the phone.

"What's up?" I say.

"Nothing, I just wanted to see how you were."

"Baby, I've been gone for literally half an hour. I'm doing fine." I laugh.

"Yeah, I know. I just, I just hate not being with you 24/7. I already miss you."

This is where I make the "🥺" face

"I miss you too." I say, trying not to show too much emotion.

Emma looked at me and made a barfing noise. I smacked her arm and resumed my conversation.

"What was that?" David asks.

"Nothing, just Emma being bitchy. You know, the usual." I tease, making Emma smack me back.

I let out a whimper followed by a loud "ow". I could hear David laughing through the phone line.

"Nice to know that you find my pain amusing Mr. Dobrik."

"I do, I really do." He replies, still giggling. "Well, I just wanted to call and say that I miss you and I can't wait to see you again."

"Same here Dave. Dinner tonight?" I ask.

"Definitely."

"Great." I smile.

I was about to hang up when David stopped me.

"Oh, and Maddy?" He began.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

THE BUTTERFLIES ARE SPAZZING OUT IN MY TUMMY

"I love you too, Dave." I smile, biting my lower lip.

"EW! GROSS!" Emma shouted, making the same wrenching noise, sticking a finger in her mouth.

"Fuck off!" I snap, elbowing her.

David laughed again before saying goodbye and hanging up.

"Next time you're on the phone with Todd, don't doubt that I won't pull the same shit you just did." I say in a very stern voice.

I'm warning you bitch

"Alright fine." She says, putting one of her hands up in surrender while the other was busy with the steering wheel.

Just as I was going to look out the front windshield, I heard a loud knock on my window. It was Valerie. I'd be lying if I said it didn't scare the life out of me. Emma seemed to have had the same reaction, because when I looked at her, she had one hand over her heart and the other was gripping the steering wheel tightly.

We both got out and gave Valerie a big bear hug.

"Wait, where's Liv?" I ask.

"Running late. Got stuck in some nonexistent traffic." Valerie says, rolling her eyes.

The three of us grabbed menus and headed inside to order. Even though one of us was missing, we were HUNGRY! Call us rude, but you gotta eat when you gotta eat. Plus, Olivia was starting to get a bit distant with the three of us. But it doesn't matter, all four of us would be here together, catching up after what felt like eight hundred years.

*15 Minutes Later*

I heard my phone ding, as well as Emma and Valerie's. That only meant one thing, someone was texting in the group chat. Emma soon found out that it was Olivia. She'd cancelled last minute, something about getting hit up by a bunch of different brands for brand deals.

I, personally, thought that was a load of BS. Firstly, because Liv was NEVER into the whole "sponsorship" deal, which is understandable. But it was odd that she was cancelling at the last minute AFTER she was so enthusiastic and excited to see the three of us.

Whatever. Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be.

We all shrugged it off and went along with our plan; feast, drown ourselves in coffee (tea for me though, I absolutely HATE coffee) and catch up on what's been going on. But I'm sure you know what's been going on in my life ;)
