Ch 40 – Gu Formation

A week later.

As the sun rose toward the sky and dying the land with its soft red-orange glow, Kaleido opened his eyes as if by pure instinct. Now that he has quasi-Grandmaster attainment in time path, his internal clock can be considered to be even more accurate than clocks already.

Letting out a yawn, Kaleido rolled out of bed and his body fell to the ground, but just as he was about to collide with the ground, he stopped. A mysterious power wrapped around his body, halting his fall.

Then, as the invisible force that wrapped around his body moved, he lazily controlled his body to enter a standing position by rotating it in midair, and he planted his feet on the wooden floor. Afterward, he stretched out his arm, neck, and back, along with the other areas of his body.

As his body felt more lively and less sleepy, he sat down on the ground in a lotus position and he calmed his entire mind by breathing in deeply. Exhaling slowly, he focused his attention on his aperture and started to nourish his aperture walls by pouring an endless stream of primeval essence onto them.

With his peculiar body that can generate an absurd quantity of primeval essence that he himself doesn't know its upper limit, he can cultivate at an absurd speed while not worrying about having to stop and wait for his primeval essence to return to a higher amount or having to absorb primeval essence stones to supply his cultivation.

He was a monster among geniuses, a being with an absurdly high potential that can perhaps turn the entire world upside down if he was given the opportunity to grow.

As he entered into a deeper trance, his consciousness seemed to float away as his body cultivated autonomously without him having to actively think about it. Then like clockwork, the vision once again appeared.

A vision that depicts a place where space and time intertwined, where nothingness seemed to coincide with everything else. All kinds of dazzling colors and warped shapes turned distorted and eldritch as if his mortal mind couldn't comprehend what he was seeing no matter how hard he tried and it was dumbed down for him so that he can even look at it.

He "looked" at the vision silently as minutes passed by. After a while, he opened his eyes as he suddenly felt his stomach grumble to announce its hungriness. Seeing that his usual morning routine has come to an end, Kaleido rubbed his eyes and stood up with a push to the ground.

Opening the door to his room, he walked a few steps and arrived at his humble kitchen. Then, as he sat down on a chair, he pressed his palm on the table and slowly, inched by inched, pulled it away from the table, and an appetizing fragrance gathered around the air.

Like magic, food appeared right in front of him. It was a scrumptious meal with a bowl of rice, with juicy meat and egg mixed into the rice. There were also vegetables added into the mix, turning it into a balanced meal. But mysteriously, there wasn't just one bowl of fried rice, but multiple.

As his mouth opened widely, the same mysterious force once again wrapped around the rice and a large chunk of it floated through the air and landed in his mouth. He repeated his actions once again.

He chewed quickly, swallowed his food, and ate more without pause. Kaleido also drank water occasionally to cleanse his palette and continued to eat more of the absurd amount of food until it was all finished.

Burping loudly, he patted his bloated belly and muttered, "That's a large amount of protein and other macros inhaled like nothing. Sigh, I wonder if my Ancient Desolate Moon extreme physique made my body have a higher metabolism, but I have been needing to eat a lot more these past few days."

"Although it may be attributed to the fact that my body's needing this ridiculous amount of nutrients because I kept working out. If I were to estimate, I might already be at the Olympic level in terms of physique alone after using the mystical attributes of Gu to repair muscle tissue and build muscle at an absurd rate," Kaleido muttered while drinking another glass of water.

"I have also used my own newfound control over my own mind and hypnotized myself to increase my mind-muscle connection, and that somehow allowed my physique to remain slim and not bulky like a bodybuilder. Or maybe it's just the uniqueness of my body doing its thing like usual."

Ignoring the strangeness of his own body, he walked towards his bathroom and grabbed the towel hanging inside the room. After that, he took off his clothes and burned them, turning them into ashes which he then stored in his storage space for later use.

Walking into the shower area, he sighed slightly, "Oh how I miss the advance Gu technology of this world."

Seeing a small dark cloud gather in the air above him, he increased the intensity and water fell upon his body like a magical shower. He then used more Gu and produced a soap-like substance to wash his entire body with.

After that, he walked out of the shower area inside his crude bathroom, he used another Gu and soft warm light bathed his entire body. 'Heh, this Rank 3 Gu would normally coat my entire body in flames, but now I'm just using it to quickly dry myself.'

Seeing that the wetness of his body has dried off, he turned towards the mirror and inspected his current physique. After training hard for months and using the mystical powers of Gu in another world to his advantage, Kaleido's physique has undergone a full rebirth and was more aesthetic and powerful than ever.

He even estimated that it won't be long before he can run as fast as 10 meters per second with enough training. His body is already nearing the supposed limits of the human body at such an absurd rate, he sometimes even wondered if he can become like a caped baldy and break through his limiter to attain unlimited power.

Chuckling at that ridiculous thought, he turned his body, and a pair of white pants and a white robe appeared on his body from nowhere. Even Gu can be used to create clothes, so Kaleido couldn't help but think about how absurdly strong Rank 9 Gu are, especially if he were to amplify them by at least 300 times their normal strength using his body's dao marks.

'Heh, I don't even know how I would be able to use a Rank 9 Gu, much less acquire one and use it for myself.' Letting go of his daydreams, Kaleido walked out of the bathroom and headed out.

Arriving outside his house, what greeted him was the sandy shores of the island and the vast blue sea. Soft winds brushed against his body as he breathed in the clean air. He then started to walk towards the back of his house, and saw his own "garden."

Even though he called it a garden, it might very well be a farm at this point. Using the powers of Gu, he cleared out more land and flattened the place, creating prime spots to create his own farm.

'Why did I even go this large? Sigh, just a small space would do to sustain myself, but eh, at this point, I might as well continue.' Smiling lightly, he summoned a hoe from his storage space and prepared to toil the ground and plant more stuff like potatoes and carrots, things that he would want to eat in the near future.

Approaching a certain part of his own miniature farm, he arrived at an abundance of green sprouts and muttered, "Hehehe, my potatoes are growing so well! Maybe I do have some talent in farming."

"Perhaps if life wasn't as hectic and I have a clear need for power to survive the arrangements of 'It', then maybe I would have just stayed here for longer and continued farming." Caressing the green sprouts, he nodded his head and stood up.

Surveying his farm, he walked towards a certain area where a large brown box was placed and stopped a few inches away from it. Opening it carefully, he saw his own fertilizer doing pretty well and smiled faintly.

After inspecting his fertilizer, he felt that it was developed enough and stored it inside his storage space. Then, he summoned random waste from his storage space like the ashes of his clothes, and used his method to prepare more fertilizer.

Because his clothes were made from plant-like material, he can use their ashes to create more fertilizer, which gave Kaleido the excuse to not have to wash his own clothes, 'If only I have a Gu that can also wash my own clothes.'

Closing the box after filling it up with random garbage, he grabbed his hoe that leaned against the box and walked away from it to finish his other tasks for the day.

Approaching other areas of his farm, he saw that a certain part of his arm already had its crops fully grown, surprising him with the effectiveness of his own fertilizer. But he wasn't that surprised as he created the fertilizer using clothes produced by Gu, and remaining food from rare fishes or powerful beasts.

Kaleido then shoved his hand forward to the air as a mysterious force gathered in the air and grabbed the heads of the plants that stuck out of the ground in quick succession. Turning his index and middle finger towards the sky, the mysterious force pulled upwards and his crops gathered in the air as if grabbed by invisible arms.

Following that, he opened his palm, and water gathered around it. As he ordered with his mind, the water shot and sprayed outward, wetting the soil and cleaning the dirt-covered crops at the same time. Afterward, he made the floating plants levitate toward him.

Inspecting them one by one, he lets out a sigh of relief at the quality of his goods and clenched his fist. Pumped up by his first successful harvest, he snapped his fingers and all of the floating crops ahead of him disappeared, sucked into his storage space.

Kaleido proceeded to control the mysterious power and had it land near the ground. In the next moment, he spread out his fingers, and the soil on the ground burrowed and was dug out. Out of nowhere, fertilizer appeared along with a cut piece of potato or seeds for other plants were planted alongside the fertilizer.

Putting the soil back in place, he "patted" the ground with invisible and large hands before proceeding to water more of the ground to allow the plants to grow healthily and give him luxurious goods to eat. For Kaleido, eating what he produced was far tastier than buying it from others. Because of that, he made sure to give his plants the best care they could possibly receive.

Afterward, he watered more of his farm until he arrived at an empty plot of land inside his farm. In that area, the ground was still not tilled and hoed, leaving it useless and unsuited for farming.

"Whew, I'm mostly finished with the farming for today. Once this is finished, I can head back and eat some lunch so I can take a nap in the afternoon," Kaleido muttered while dragging his hoe along with him back.

Stopping in the middle of the dry and useless soil, he raised his hoe high into the air, and as his muscles bulged up and tensed, he swung it down at full force.

But unlike what he expected, he heard the sound of his hoe clashing against something metallic, surprising him.

"Eh?" Surprised by the situation, he mobilized his formless bubble to sweep up the area and pushed away a bit of the dirt, and saw something plastered beneath the soil.

"A Gu formation?"

Whew! It's a good thing that formation path existed in the current era because a lot of paths are missing.

Bro, the only real major paths right now are space path and time path (from the immemorial era), qi path, fire path, refinement path, formation path... and I think that's actually it if my memory serves me correct.
