New Beginning

As Ray's senses returned back to normal, he looked around, only to find the surrounding a bit familiar. He wasn't surprised by how realistic everything looked.

Right now, he stood in the middle of a forest but he could feel that he was just at the outer region. His view was blocked by huge trees and sounds of birds and insects entered his ears. One might even mistake it for real life.

"It looks like I spawned in the same starting location." Ray muttered under his breath. From the familiar feeling, he could guess that he had the starting point as his previous life.

"Now I have an even greater advantage, so I would be able to proceed with my plans with ease. But before that I should move to my secret hideout. Afterall, it's too dangerous here." Ray thought to himself and started moving in a certain direction.

Before Ray could even take a single step, a notification popped up in his sight. But Ray immediately dismissed it.

[Newbie Gift Pack available! Please select one of the following packs.

1. Adventurer's Newbie Gift Pack

2. Territory Lord's Newbie Gift Pack]

Ray continued moving deeper into the forest with moderate footsteps. His footsteps weren't too fast nor too slow. But each and every step of his was in a certain rhythm.

What was strange was that it was completely silent. This strange and unusual rhythm produced no sound. Ray's steps were so quite that even many powerful wild beasts, who were extremely sensitive to such sounds , couldn't hear them.

At the same time, Ray controlled his breathing as well. It was a protection 'trick' that many used when traveling through dangerous areas. Of course, Ray picked it up from his previous timeline.

In fact, it was a common knowledge among the general players. It was just that they were too hard to master. In fact, they were even sometimes useless against powerful monsters and players if executed poorly.

Just as Ray took his ninth step, a notification popped out in his sight. Ray just smiled faintly when he read the details of the notification.

[Ding! You have learnt the skill 'Silent Steps'.]

Ray clicked on the notification to check the details of the skill 'Silent Steps'. And obviously, the details were same as in his previous life, except one.

[Silent Steps (Passive Skill)

Description : Reduces the sound caused during walking.

Mastery : Level 1 (0%)]

Ray subconsciously rubbed his eyes and looked again at the details of the skill. He muttered in shock. "How the hell did it became a passive skill?"

But as he thought about his stats that he just unlocked, this was nothing in comparison. Thus he decided to ignore it for now. He would naturally discover it to be good or bad later on.

Thinking this in his mind, Ray ignored this strange incident for now and decided to continue with his plan. He started moving again, just this time his steps were even more silent.

Ray moved through the forest quietly without attracting any attention towards him. But if someone were to see this scene, they would be so shocked that their eyes would pop out of their sockets.

Because it was simply an impossible task at this moment of the game.

As Ray walked for about thirty seconds, another notification popped up in his sight showing that he has learnt yet another skill.

[Ding! You have learnt the skill 'Controlled Breathing'.]

After Ray checked the skill, he found the same change in it as well. It became a passive skill.

[Controlled Breathing (Passive Skill)

Description : Reduces the energy radiation of the body.

Mastery : Level 1 (0%)]

After looking at the details, Ray realised that there was something different about this game or rather himself. As he pondered over it, he could only blame all of these on his new ability whose grade and details are unknown.

[(???-grade) Infinite Potential : !!!]

Sigh! Only time can reveal whether it is good or godly.

Ray though to himself. He knew that since the details were locked for now, only fate could reveal what it will be. As for being it a trash ability, Ray didn't even considered this possibility.

Putting these thoughts at the back of his mind, Ray continued moving through the forest carefully. He was able to avoid almost all the living beings in the silent forest. He did encounter some but they were only weak animals thus Ray decided to ignore them as they won't give him any EXP. They are only hunted for meat.

As Ray was moving through the forest, suddenly the surroundings changed. The previous ideal forest was nowhere to be seen. In in its place, now stood a forest that has massive trees. Even the smallest of trees were about a hundred metres tall. While the taller ones reached about few hundred metres.

The leaves of the trees were bigger than average and blocked the sun rays from falling onto the ground. Although the surrounding wasn't completely dark, it could be used as a perfect place for a sneak attack.

Also, at the same time, sounds of beasts could be heard at a distance. As Ray walked into this area, he immediately became highly alert and pushed his five-senses to the peak.

Slowly but surely, he moved deeper and deeper into the area. After walking for fifteen minutes, Ray received another notification informing him that he has learnt yet another skill.

[ Ding! You have learnt the skill 'Improved Senses'. ]

Ray checked the new skill while muttering under his breath. "I can't help but fall in love with this function of the game."

[ Improved Senses (Passive Skill)

Description : Improves the five senses of the body.

Mastery : Level 1 (0%) ]

Unlike any other games where one needs to have a skill book in order to learn a skill. In Eternal World, one can learn it in the 'real' way as well. Just by performing the skill and triggering a condition can they learn the skill. In this game, skill books are just like some cheats and are extremely rare to find.

Also, in order to level up the skill, one needs to increase the proficiency to 100%. In order to increase the proficiency, one needs to keep on using the skills repeatedly. Not just that, when a skill reaches a certain level, only by comprehending it or increasing the understanding of the skill can one level it up further.

And for Ray, who has already experienced countless skills as 'Lucifer Eveningstar', it is no different from eating and drinking.

After moving for about 20 minutes, Ray reached a secluded area. Moving towards a corner, Ray cleared the weeds and a cave entrance was revealed. This cave was hidden in such a way that no one could possibly find it. Even Ray found it only due to accidental luck.

Ray made a way for himself by separating the vines that covered the entrance. He stepped into the cave and once again covered the cave with vines.
