Etzli emerged from the quarterdeck temple, feeling pretty good for the first time in a good long while.
She had a plan.
It wasn't a great plan. And, to be honest, it wasn't even fully formed. But it was the only acceptable way she saw out of this mess.
Starlight, however, wasn't convinced.
--What the hell do you think you're doing?
Making her way through the crowded corridor, Etzli had no intention of replying. Everyone onboard probably thought she was crazy enough, and that was without seeing her ranting to herself in public.
She'd only been onboard a single day and already had a crap reputation. It had to be a new personal record.
--No, seriously, tell me what's up. I can't hear what's going on in your corner of my mind, but something's got my stomach doing flips, so it can't be good.
Etzli bit her lip and remained silent. Starlight wasn't wrong about her guts, though. They were gurgling up a storm.
--Answer me, Sunshine.
Shaking her head, Etzli muttered, "Huh-uh."
