With just two days left in her vacation, Sally felt a pang of sadness settling in. The thought of the vacation coming to an end tugged at her heart. As they finished breakfast, Aaron noticed the melancholy in Sally's eyes.
"Hey, you okay?" Aaron asked, placing his coffee mug down.
Sally nodded but couldn't hide her emotions. "Yeah, just... I can't believe it's almost over. I've had such a great time, and now it's nearly time to go back."
Aaron smiled, trying to lift her spirits. "Well, we've still got some time. How about we make the most of it? I was thinking—do you want to see if Daisy's still in LA? Maybe we could hang out with her today or tomorrow?"
Sally's face brightened at the suggestion, but then a flicker of uncertainty crossed her expression. "I don't know… What if she doesn't remember me? It's been a while since we last talked."
Aaron leaned forward, his tone encouraging. "Come on, Sally. Of course, she'll remember you! Just give her a call. What's the worst that could happen?"
With a deep breath, Sally nodded. Aaron handed her the phone, and after a moment of hesitation, she dialed Daisy's number. The phone rang a few times before Daisy's familiar voice answered.
"Hello?"
Sally's voice was a little shaky as she introduced herself. "Hi, Daisy. It's Sally... Sally Sanders."
There was a brief pause on the other end before Daisy's voice perked up. "Sally! Oh my gosh, of course, I remember you! How have you been?"
Relieved, Sally let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. "I've been great, thanks. How about you? Are you still in LA?"
"Yes, I'm still here! It's been a crazy few weeks, but I'm doing well," Daisy replied warmly.
Sally hesitated for a second before asking, "I was wondering if you'd be free to hang out today or tomorrow? It would be so great to catch up."
Daisy hummed thoughtfully, and Sally could hear the sound of a calendar being checked in the background. "Let's see… I'm actually free today after 7 PM. We could have dinner and hang out after that if you're up for it?"
Sally's heart soared. "That sounds perfect! Aaron will be with us, too."
There was a playful chuckle from Daisy. "Oh, Aaron will be there, huh? In that case, tell him to book a private room for four people at a nice restaurant. My manager will be with me, and I'd prefer some privacy, you know, to avoid the paparazzi and all that."
Sally grinned wickedly. "Consider it done. I'll text you the details."
After a few more exchanges, Sally hung up and immediately told Aaron everything. He didn't waste a second, pulling out his phone to book a private room at one of LA's finest restaurants. Once the reservation was secured, Sally sent the address to Daisy.
That evening, Aaron and Sally arrived early at the restaurant. The private room was elegant, with soft lighting and plush seating, perfect for a cozy, intimate dinner. At exactly 7:10 PM, the door to the room opened, and Daisy walked in, wearing a mask and accompanied by her manager, a tall woman with a serious yet friendly demeanor.
"Sis Daisy!" Sally exclaimed, rushing over to hug her. Daisy laughed and returned the hug warmly, pulling down her mask once they were inside.
"Hey, Sally! It's so good to see you," Daisy said, her eyes sparkling with genuine excitement.
Aaron stepped forward, greeting Daisy with a friendly smile. "Good to see you, Daisy. Thanks for making time for us."
"Of course," Daisy replied, smiling back. "I wouldn't miss it. And hey, thanks for the private room. It's nice to relax without worrying about who's watching."
They all settled in, and soon the room was filled with laughter and conversation. As they enjoyed their dinner, Daisy leaned forward, curiosity gleaming in her eyes. "So, what's the plan for tonight? I'm excited to see what you've got in store."
Sally, grinning from ear to ear, spoke up. "I was thinking we could hit up an arcade. I've been dying to try my hand at the claw machines again. What do you think?"
Daisy's eyes lit up with excitement. "Arcade sounds like fun! And how about we do some karaoke afterward? I've been in the mood to sing."
Sally practically bounced in her seat. "That sounds amazing! Let's do it!"
After finishing dinner, they made their way to a nearby arcade. The place was buzzing with energy, filled with flashing lights, the sound of clinking coins, and the laughter of people having a great time. Sally immediately dragged them to the claw machines.
"Watch this, I've got a good feeling about this one," she said, her eyes locked on a stuffed toy inside the machine.
Aaron chuckled. "Go for it, Sally. Show us how it's done."
Sally maneuvered the claw carefully, her tongue peeking out in concentration. The claw lowered, grabbed the toy, and lifted it slightly before letting it drop back down.
"Ah, so close!" Sally groaned, but she was still smiling.
Daisy laughed and gave it a try herself, managing to snag a small plushie on her first attempt. She held it up triumphantly. "Beginner's luck!"
They moved on to other games, with Aaron proving to be surprisingly skilled at the basketball hoop game, sinking shot after shot. Sally cheered him on while Daisy playfully challenged him to a high score competition. The arcade was filled with their laughter and banter as they played game after game.
Later, they headed to a karaoke room, where the real fun began. Daisy, as expected, was a phenomenal singer, her voice effortlessly hitting every note with precision and emotion. Sally followed with a spirited performance, her enthusiasm making up for any missed notes. Aaron, though not as skilled, gave a heartfelt rendition of a classic rock song, making both Sally and Daisy cheer him on.
As the night wound down, they all sat back, catching their breath after the energetic singing session. Daisy looked at Aaron, a playful smile on her lips. "You know, Aaron, this was a lot of fun. If I'm ever free in LA again, can I give you a call? Maybe we can hang out like this again."
Aaron smiled warmly. "I'd be more than happy to. Anytime you're around, just let me know."
Daisy blushed slightly, her smile growing softer. "I'll hold you to that."
After a few more moments of chatting and reminiscing, it was time to say goodbye. They all hugged and promised to stay in touch. Sally's heart was full as she waved goodbye to Daisy and her manager.
