Chapter 76 Millicent's Analysis

Irene thought it was weird for Millicent to ask her with such seriousness all of a sudden.

What did she want to know?

"This question seems important. I should think it through before answering it," Irene thought.

"Okay, Millicent. Go ahead. Since you're so serious about it, I'll listen carefully and give you an answer after some careful consideration," Irene said animatedly, her tone exaggerated.

It was quite the funny sight. She wanted to tease Millicent and lift her spirits.

"I mean, let's just say that Edward didn't do anything to hurt you. He had a reason not to lend money to the Jones siblings, and what happened to your mother was an unfortunate accident. If he really had no part in it at all, would you be able to forgive him and continue loving him?"

Irene searched for an answer deep within herself when she heard Millicent's question. If things had turned out to be like that, would she be able to forgive Edward? She wasn't sure.
