INDRA: LOST

~Welcome, user, to the Indra Interface.~ “What..? Where am I? What… is going on..?” Slate looked down at his hands as his vision came through, but he realized quickly that he could feel his eyes open or close. His hands were also made of metal, yet, somehow, he could still feel his fingers. “What the hell?!” ~Please try to calm down. Let me explain. The Ligrass, a violent and aggressive alien race, has attacked planet earth. Almost all humans have been annihilated, but the few who survived had their bodies sealed away, whilst their consciousness was transferred into mecha suits which are to be used to defeat the Ligrass and free man kind.~ “The Ligrass..? Wait.. you are saying I’m one of those humans? Wait, then where is my body?!” ~I cannot tell you that. Also, many of your memories have been stripped of you, but I assure you that you had agreed to become one of the Utopians.~ “Utopians?” ~The term used for those who defend the human race. You cannot know the location of your body or the human outposts, if you did the human race would be in danger.~ “Then.. what the hell am I supposed to do..?” ~Find and eliminate all Ligrass life forms using the Indra interface.~ “Indra?” ~The name of this unit, Indra, the strongest of all Utopians.~ - Slate wakes up to find himself within a mecha suit called Indra and he has the objective of killing an entire race of aliens that threaten the existence of mankind. He must learn how to use Indra and get used to his new body, and he has to be careful, because when a mecha is destroyed while your consciousness is still residing in it, your body will become no more than a breathing, brain dead corpse. Can he find the other Utopians and protect the human race? Or will the Ligrass prove to great a threat for mankind to overcome? This book is for WPC #264, male lead; apocalypse. I hope you like the story! I’ll update 2-3 chapters a day, maybe more based on the amount of feedback. Please leave reviews, comments, tell me what you like and don’t like, all is appreciated. Also, check out my other books please! Thank you! I would also like to mention that this book is very fast-paced from the beginning. PS: the cover does not belong to me, if you’d like me to take it down, then I will. -Kydul #Mecha #OPMC #apocalypse #aliens #action #fastpaced #intensecombat #sci-fi #comedy

The Indra System is Extremely Dangerous

The sound of whirring and clicking mechanical parts came then as bits and pieces of the shoulder moved down Slate's arm and over his lower arm, forming some kind of large cannon with four rays of golden energy spikes coming off of each side.

"Oh? Interesting." Slate said nonchalantly.

~Please refrain from firing that.~

"Who is gonna care if I test out weapons in the desert?"

*Click*

The spikes suddenly shot out from the sides of the cannon and began to swirl around the end of the barrel for a moment, faster and faster before…

*KOOM*

The earth shook and the ground gave way beneath Slate's feet, the force of the shot creating an indent in the ground as a beam of golden light blasted across the land, leaving a deep gash along the earth as it went like a meteorite. It flashed forward, on and on until it slammed into the side of a mountain, resulting in a bright flash of light and then..

*FWOOSH*

A shockwave struck outwards, kicking dust billowing into the air as a massive explosion decimated the side of the mountain, leaving a massive crater in it's side.

"Oh… wow." Slate said blankly.

~Is that really all you have to say?~ Indra asked.

"I mean. Yeah. What else can I say?"

~You are a fool. And now the Ligrass will be alerted to our position and swarm us.~

"What..? No, I mean, they probably didn't even notice, right?"

Indra was silent for a long moment.

~Didn't notice?~

"Yeah.."

~A hole being blown into a mountain by a massive energy spike?~

"Yeah..."

~They noticed. Meaning we should move now before we are attacked.~

"You know.. that's a good idea."

~I would like you to understand that the Indra interface is an extremely dangerous and powerful tool of destruction and power. You are not even in Dark Indra state and yet you can obliterate mountains and cities at will. Please, in the future, be less reckless with such power.~ Indra explained.

"Dark Indra? What is that?" Slate asked.

~Certainly not something you should be concerned with at the moment.~

*Beep, beep, beep*

The sound of something blipping on Indra's radar interface came then.

~Ligrass inbound. We should take our leave whilst we still can.~

"Understood." Slate said. He directed Myrion to the thrusters attached to his back and knelt to the ground. He didn't really know how, he assumed it was all instinct drilled into him by his other self when he lived in his body, but he somehow knew how to function all the parts of Indra, though, not perfectly.

The jets began to shoot out waves of heat as energy particles fluttered through the air, and then-

*FWOOSH*

A deep crater was left where Slate had been standing as he exploded into the air at a speed he didn't even think possible, and in less than a second he burst through the clouds to the sky above. He managed to adjust the output and get a better control of his flight speed, but when he was airborne her just stopped, hovering there above the white clouds.

"What… is that?" Slate asked, staring up at a massive structure in the sky just outside the planet's atmosphere.

~Legionarea. The mother ship of the Ligrassians. A moon-sized ship that was used to obliterate humanity's major cities. It is truly an incarnation of death and destruction.~ Indra explained.

Multiple flashes of green light caught Slate's attention off in the distance. Strange objects soaring through the sky.

"Those are Ligrass, aren't they?" Slate asked.

~Yes. They will be heading towards the sight of the damage. We should head towards Edagross now before they realize we are here.~

"Yeah. Although, I can't lie, I am itching to test out the Indra's weaponry.." Slate said, looking down at his own hands.

~You will have many chances, for now, we should stay low until we have found other Utopians. That is our main objective right now.~

"To find others like me?"

~Yes. No matter how strong the Indra is, you have a slim chance on your own. We need allies.~

"I get it, but do you have any idea as to where they are? Because showering the land aimlessly looking for someone who likely does not want to be found sounds like a waste of time and energy. I assume the Indra does not have infinite battery."

~Incorrect. The planet of Onnedras has an infinite source of Myrion that it constantly gives off due to the chemical make-up of its plant and wild life, which then goes into the soil. Simply by standing on Onnedras's surface you can recharge your energy.~

"Well, that… is useful."

~You designed it yourself.~

"Who the hell am I? Some sort of lead engineer?"

~I do not have authority to give you any information about your physical self.~ Indra spoke as Slate bolted through the sky, staying within the clouds to avoid being spotted as he flew in a straight line towards the city.

~Although, I should warn you, your consciousness is inside the Indra. If you should be destroyed and killed in battle without your conscience returning to your body, then it will be forever lost and your body will become a brain-dead husk and will be terminated.~

"Well, that is just so comforting, thank you Indra." Slate said. "How old am I, anyway? Or can you not tell me that either?"

~The Indra mainframe is two years old, at least since it's completion date.~

"No, I mean me, the person, how old am I?"

~Slate is twenty-three years of age.~

"Twenty-three, huh? That's a young age to die."

~The solution to your problem is quite simple- do not die.~

"Yeah, I think that is easier said than done, Indra, but thanks for the pro tip."

~Anytime. It is my job to inform, guide and educate you, even if it is just the basics.~

"You are a real charmer aren't you?"

~Yes, I am. And you are quite a daft man. It is hard to believe I was created by you.~
