Holy Gate History 1

"why didn't you tell my dad about this" he could help but feel how much the atmosphere was being manipulated,he should be very distressed and confused but he wasn't, his mind told him otherwise but despair stood in his eyes unperturbed by any of her false aura.

"He and the other devotes believed that only by wisdom and purification rituals they could send my people away" her eyes became distant again "but they failed, it would be built by those who embraced our presence like Van Gocci ,Banten an artist that preceded him however would have been a noble son to my Lord as Van but he was conflicted, his believe or his heart" she focused on Jinn then her eyes drifted towards the room door "Van would be a good son but he is trapped by your ignorant father in a land of endless torment, the priest had ordered him to do so and then sacrifice his life as well as other devotes in other to secure the seal, now you are to make that sacrifice" she glided to the window ,both hands on the sill she turned to Jinn"maybe you'll be proud to be a son of Fei Bai, maybe not based on where your thoughts drift to in the near future" jumping over the sill blinding light beamed and faded .

He flinched heart pounding and breathing heavily, A burden in his chest, just moments ago he had been composed talking with whatever she was.Now trepidation fell like a boulder on him, he wondered why he hadn't ran out the moment she stepped in,what force controlled this place? In discombobulation he ran out of the room.

Taeh stood in the corridor watching Jinn speed off, he wondered what had happened, why he reacted that way?he took a hesitant step towards Jinn's direction when his eyes suddenly darkened and he fell into the dark corridor.

Early the following day, Jinn was out to see Ai Lin's mom.He couldn't sleep,he had strange visions all night and his heart beat refused to slow through it.

He sat in a small traditional room facing the door he'd come through,A low table in front of him and a small cushion which he sat on.The floor was covered with finely polished wood, fine flower patterned walls and the large window at his right streaked warm light.

Two tea cups and a teapot were in a tray on the low table. He poured out some tea and took the cup to his mouth, inhaling the scent of fresh ginseng,He took a gulp of hot tea and winced.Carefully placing the cup on the table,he realize the scent of fresh herbs that filled the room,he hadn't smelt this in a long time. Since he'd visited his mom, he reminisced the warm feel of her presence, she'd treat him to different herbs like a potential bride everyday. He'd suffered this when he was young and his dad didn't support him against his mom, "it was good for you" he'd say.Jinn smiled, Taeh suffered same fate moving in with them but didn't seem bothered as much. His mother was usually the quiet one but she'd be the devil if she sparked. He grinned, he hadn't spoken to her since the last time she'd sent him herbs.Jinn sighed thoughtfully 'how long had that been?', he regarded as to what a bad son he'd been.

The wooden door in front of him snapped his attention up and back to his tea as it slid open and closed again. He blew at his cup and steam clogged his glasses "Sorry for the delay" the calm voice of the older woman he'd come to see,she sat on the cushion in front of him.

"Hello beautiful" he said absently with a smile, taking off his glasses he cleaned the steam. He sighed and focused on her putting his glasses back on " I can't explain what I've been through this passed few days" he bit his lower lip gathering his words and she smiled calmly "I came to learn everything you know about this place, my father and Van_" he took his cup thoughtfully and stared down where the sun met the floorboards "_could have used the Library but I don't really like reading, plus I feel you know something the books don't" he sipped his tea and burned his tongue. Wincing again, he looked at her eagerly.

"Very well young man" she said, Ai Lin had told him she knew his dad and he had various encounters with her mother to know she didn't cross his path by coincidence. Now he was banked on finding out everything so he could have a lead on what to reply the Lady he encountered yesterday.
