Most of the countries that existed in the past are long gone.

Year 2099 The most shoking event in the recent year was a religous revolution.

Though it wasn't a real revolution, "Lack of believers" would be a better term.

People stopped inheriting their parents religions and beliefs.

Economy was good no one seanched churchs for confort, no one searched god for help, no one really belived, The ones who did for polytical reasons were old rich people, high scalon businessman, their wives or kids too little to understand even how to use a spoon correctly and were most likely to stop believing before they even turned 20.

The church and other religious started to panic. Some started spending milions of dollars advertizing like crazy. Some recruiting massive amounts of members in hope few of them would be found in their religion.

But they lacked in luck. most of their contributors started dying of old age, at the beggining it was slow. One in the beging of the year, other the following month, other two in the next, but it didn't stop. The churth did not act in the begining and were too late to do so, in short two years the already weakened church was even weaker now. Someone was pulling the right strings.

The heirs stopped the investiment as their skeptical minds judged there was no merit trowing thousands of dollars away when someone they coudn't go against was obviously attacking the church. Aside from public image there was not much to gain.

The strings were pulled again. for political motivations , it was just on paper and for political reasons, for some reason didn't cause a uproar, actually too many things happened so no one payed atention with happenings that wouldn't change one's everyday life.

Soon a new religion was formed. At the beggining, it was a rumor between politicians that leaked to the population. No one took it seriously. "How could just 12 people be enough to Form a religion", "What a joke"

They were wrong. Volcanoes becoming active all of a sudded, earthquaque tittled the worst in the last 40 years, plane crash, political fraud mass murder, these were the things these few people were cappable of stoping or keeping the victims at a minimum. with the money charisma and political power they saved over 23 milion lives.

After such an event they coudn't stay in hidden anymore, at least. Not all of them.
