Chapter 59

Shaun knew he meant at the home of the man who had abused him. I swear, if I knew who he was, I’d get everything Ryan owns out of there, one way or another. He had a sudden vision of himself, wearing black clothing and a ski mask, sneaking into the house. As if. I don’t even know how to disarm an alarm system. I’d end up in jail before I knew what was happening.

“We’ll get it all back for you, somehow,” Shaun told him.

“I wish, but it’s not happening. He probably destroyed what he could, and tossed the rest in the trash bin. He was that mad and now…” Ryan shuddered.

Deciding to change the subject, before Ryan retreated into his memories, Shaun said, “Let’s get everything back to the boarding house and then grab some lunch. Shopping makes me hungry.”

Ryan stopped where he was, looking at Shaun. “Don’t you need to get home and sleep?”

Shaun smiled. “On an empty stomach? Not a good idea.”
