It hadn’t taken much to convince Mr. Foster and his partner to have a two-man show at the gallery. Money talks, as the saying goes, and Merrick had offered them a sizable sum if they’d set it up, without them revealing that a certain new patron of the gallery was the moving force behind the idea.
“Well, this is a surprise,” Merrick said as he joined Ryan, after putting his car in the garage. “I thought…”
“You’ll never guess what happened,” Ryan said before Merrick could finish. “You know the gallery? First Street? They want to do a show with just me and one other artist.” He was practically dancing with excitement.
“Fantastic!” Merrick gave him a hug of congratulation. “Let’s go inside and you can tell me all about it.”
