Chapter 21

A very loud bit of action in the movie broke into Craig’s musings. By the time it was over, he was back to being engrossed in the story and had lost his train of thought.

He got it back as they were leaving the theater. “Do you want to stop for coffee?”

Kevan grinned. “Sure. We can rehash the movie. I think I saw a Starbucks on the first floor.”

It was closed, which wasn’t too surprising given the hour, Craig figured, so they walked a few blocks to Café Du Monde. It was busy, but then, when wasn’t it? Still, they managed to find a table in the rear and ordered coffee—but not beignets because, as Kevan put it, “Who wants to drive home covered in powdered sugar.”

“Okay, we dissected the movie on the way over here,” Kevan said, after taking a drink of his coffee. “Do we want to try and catch another one?”

Craig laughed. “Tonight? I think it’s too late.”

Kevan shook his head in amusement. “I meant next week, maybe.”
