Chapter 62 Pink And Orange

Dante slowly opened his eyes, feeling grogginess overwhelming him as he tried to adjust to the piercing light. He squinted against the intensity, his senses dulled by the lingering fog of waking up.

With a deep, involuntary yawn, he stretched his limbs languidly, feeling the pull of every muscle as he emerged from his slumber. He sat up in bed with his skin, sensing the softness of the bed beneath him.

Dante's hands reached for his eyes, trying to clean his crusty eyes, but instead, they brushed against something unexpected; a pair of glasses resting at his nose. His brows furrowed in confusion. "Wait... Why did the glasses come with me? Wasn't I supposed to not be able to bring objects from that world with me?"

The System's response echoed within his mind, "You received the drop after killing Maki Zenin."

Dante dismissed the matter with a casual wave of his hand, "She was a small fry, so I didn't expect loot to come from her."

Dante swung his legs over the side of the bed, touching the cold wooden floor. He shivered slightly from the chill of the room. He rubbed his arms, trying to warm up, before standing up and making his way to the bathroom.

Dante, smelling the mixture of old blood and extravagant wines, babbled, "I seriously need to take a bath!"

As he walked, he stumbled slightly, his body still adjusting to being awake. He leaned against the wall for a moment. Slowly, he felt his grogginess start to fade, replaced by a sense of alertness and clarity.

He looked up at the mirror, examining the reflection staring back at him. His hair was messy, and his face was still marked with the creases left by the pillow. He sighed, realizing that he needed to take care of himself.

Dante took a bottle of water from the inventory and splashed some cold water on his face, feeling the refreshing sensation wash over him. Dante said to himself, "You are in a recreation place... THERE IS NO EXIT DOOR!"

Just as he was about to ask the System to get him out of there, he murmured, "Wait... but weren't we searching for the bathroom?" Quickly, he answered himself, "Uh... Yeah! RIGHT...!"

After taking a quick shower, Dante exited the place while he wrote a message "Hey, we are going to meet at the typical restaurant! Probably in, idk 8, hours? I need to know if everyone is free or if y'all are busy."

As Dante paused to write his message, his gaze fixed on the glowing text, and suddenly, his neurons connected, reminding him of something extremely important that he has been neglecting since he came back from the world, yelling, "SYSTEM! BOTH OF YOU"

A blue azure and purple lavender glow illuminated Dante's face in a surreal light. First, he addressed the blue one by eagerly asking, "How much money do I have?"

The System, with its usual voice devoid of emotion, responded, "1.6 million." This sent a shockwave of astonishment coursing through Dante's veins.

"Holy..." he muttered under his breath, his mind reeling at the unexpected fortune he carried. Quickly recovering from the staggering amount, he addressed the entire reason he asked these questions: "How much does Pinkie Pie cost, taking into account my discount coupons?"

"1.5 million." Came the reply, shattering Dante's illusions of a "cheap upgrade," leaving him grappling with the harsh reality of his financial constraints.

He mused, his brow furrowing in thought. "That is an unexpectedly high price," Dante muttered to himself. "Compared to Rainbow Dash, I don't think the price does justice to it. What's the deal with Pinkamena?"

The System explained, "She is a concept breaker. At difference of Rainbow Dash, where there is a clear limit, Pinkamena can grow indefinitely with your stats, ignoring any pre-established rule."

Dante, still not understanding how powerful this was, asked, "Examples...?" The System swiftly responded to him with an enemy he fought once, "You could out-punch Limitless."

Seeing that this still didn't make sense, he inquired, "Wait... how can you out-punch the infinity?" The System replied to his question, "∞^2 technically speaking, it's higher than infinity."

His face got overly serious as Dante absorbed the information from the System's response; a perplexed expression gradually overtook his face, and he said, "I understand... I didn't understand anything."

Changing the subject, Dante opened Pinkamena's skill tree to see a surprisingly large and strange list with all kinds of crazy stuff, ranging from something called "F.U.N" bar to Chaos magic under certain conditions.

While he read Pinkie's ability, he muttered, bewildered, his eyes widening with realization. "Wait! Toon force?" The System replied with a simple affirmative answer, "Yes."

Dante pressed further, seeking clarification from the system. "The one I know?! That does wacky stuff without caring about logic?" The System affirmed once more, "Yes."

Dante thought of it for a few seconds then his eyes continued passing through the abilities and upgrades. He unconsciously decided to convince himself that the price was worth it, "At least she has a lot of UPGRADES... What is the alternative?"

The System quickly searched for the best candidate, taking into account Dante's stats and money, and answered in almost an instant with a curious, to say the least, response, "Cadance."

Dante had already checked most of the important cast, so he remembered reading slightly about her, and a realization hit him, "But doesn't she scale better with love or some similar shit."

The reasoning for Cadance being the top 2 is that love could be artificially made, and even if it ended up being 'fake,' the power it could bring was very real. Dante, not even bothering to hide his disinterest, "Let's go back to Pinkie Pie."

But as he contemplated the important choice before him, Dante remained still with his brows furrowed, recognizing the need for a helping hand; he sighed, "I can't make a rushed decision; let's ask the other what they think about it. I would like a second opinion right now."

Dante began walking to the restaurant, passing through the incredible structures and all kinds of races while casually minding his own business; as he navigated through this bustling place, a melodic voice pierced the air, calling out to him in a familiar tone.

Startled, Dante paused. He could swear a female voice called him in the distance. The voice, clear and unmistakable, repeated his name thrice. He turned around to see an otherwordly view.

Before him stood a girl, her vibrant orange locks cascading down her back in a bewitching show, her eyes, cold yet piercing, bore into Dante's soul with an intensity that sent him the memories of their last meeting.

She observed him for a fleeting moment, then broke the silence with a resigned sigh, her words laced with exhaustion.

She remarked, her tone tinged with weary acceptance. "So... you are actually the pegasus; I was hoping my item was wrong."
