Chapter 112 Aqa... tsha?

In a realm where reality is incomprehensibly folded and twisted into unrecognizable patterns. Aqarath lingered in its natural form: a shimmering black puddle that pulsed rhythmically, exuding its usual aura of otherworldly detachment.

Shapes and colors bled into existence around it, which is impossible to describe in human terms. Perhaps if Katley was here, she could explain a few words, but even the mind of she who breaks the universe will have trouble processing this.

It emitted a sound-- a microsecond of intensity that rippled through the fabric of the realm; it was a murmur that read as, "Are you going to let it die like this? There is ample room for improvement."

Aqarath's form shifted, adopting a look pulled from the human imagination: a triangle with a single eye, dressed in a top hat. "Toys break!" it said in Bill Cipher's unmistakable cadence. "Why should I cry over it? I'll just get another one. Easy peasy!"

The higher being beside Aqarath quivered, exuding frustration and his frustration in colors, "You... INSOLENT FUCKER!" it roared with disbelief, "Choosing an aspect is more than grabbing a toy off a shelf! It's your will, your purpose, embodied! You can't just be carefree about--"

Before it could finish, Aqarath's form blurred, replaced by Q from Star Trek, "Oh, spare me the lecture," it drawled, lounging theatrically, "If you care so much about my aspect, go on. Help it. Oh, wait! You can't. Because it's mine."

The higher being's patience evaporated as Aqarath laughed, the sound resonating like a thousand shattered mirrors but as the angelical noises stopped, the higher being acquired a defiant tone,. "Don't regret your promise!"

"Unless your aspect is there, but you don't have one--" Aqarath changed his nonchalant expression to one of worry, "Shit! I forgot about her!" A moment later, it had shifted again, taking the calm and cute skin of Kyubey from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. With a knowing smile, it said, "Alright then! Do your magic. Just leave me out of your RTS mess Aqatsha."

After one second of sweeping through the minds of his followers to understand the meaning of that word, the higher being replied, "This is not a game! It concerns our-"

Aqarath, still in Kyuubei's body, moved its hand to signal his farewell with an alien word, "WOMP WOMP!!!"

Back in the mortal plane, the site of Dante's death was eerily quiet now that Katley had fled the scene. Flesh and broken weapons lay scattered, thick with the stench of iron and charred magic.

From the edges of the battleground emerged a figure covered in robes decorated with occultic runes. Her tail, covered in draconic scales, swayed as her eyes glowed faintly beneath her hood.

She crouched, brushing some runes across the ground, while murmuring in a soft, melodic tone. "O' verily... The spirit of whosoever did perish here doth still strive to cling most steadfastly to this realm..." Her voice was full of reverence. "He possesseth not the means to return, and I scarce do. Yet..." She paused, her focus locking onto a faint purple screen flickering before her."ORDER: REVIVE THE ASPECT OF AQARATH."

The shadows shifted, and from them emerged a man who bore shark-like features. His grin was saw-shaped, and his voice rolled like gravel in a storm, "Really?" he sneered, with disdain, "Those bloody wankers at the top-- arrogant tossers, the lot of 'em. Mark my words: he'll gut us the first chance he gets."

The draconic woman curled her tail without realizing, "Mine own life hangeth in peril; I require all hands possible, even thine. My god hath sent messages proclaiming that he shall aid us... mayhap... And if not, then I shall perish anon. Yet he is bound to obey ten orders I giveth each day. Unless his strength breaketh the enslavement pact, I wield full command o'er him."

From behind them, a slippery figure of purple goo bubbled forward, and her tone was similar to the dragon girl, yet at the same time, was so different, "Why linger in life when death is sweeter? Eternal rest would make our suffering retreat."
