Chapter 10 Exploration

I wake up stretching my forelegs with a yawn I mutter, "Good morning? afternoon?"  glancing around and realizing that everyone else is already up and ready. I'm the last one to wake up.

Everyone has already enjoyed their breakfast. I reach into my inventory, scrolling down to retrieve some food and a water bottle.

I munch on my energy bar. Yes, I opted for energy bars. They won't rot, And my stomach can handle it. fuck... I'll miss the taste of bacon.

They seem thoughtful by the expressions on their face. As I swallow some food, I mumble, "W-Waw' W-iz' W-We' W-Waee'" (What is the matter)

My OCD kicked in once more for talking with food in my mouth. But this time, I decided to fight it back. MY NAME IS DANTE, NOT RARITY.

Winfred: "Not much Icaxis wants us to follow the insects again, but he doesn't know how to make them move."

"W-Wai W-aa W-Welt" (I can help) It's more complicated than I thought... There is a reason why you couldn't just say

hey, I'm depressed.

Don't be depressed.

Wow, thank you, I'm "cured". 

I pass what's in my mouth and then say, "They got close to me for the light perhaps... Wait, why does he want us to follow the insects?

Winfred: "He says that we should follow them. He's read many books, and his instincts tell him we should."

Yup, This confirms that Icaxis comes from a similar world to mine.

"I'll try it, but don't expect too much."

Outside, I start flickering my light on and off in a pattern, but the insects don't respond initially. Just as I'm about to give up, one of them mimics my pattern. It spins on its axis before flying away.

"I don't know what happened, but let's follow it."

We follow the firefly, which leads us to another tree trunk, just like the last time. There are many of these fireflies around.

Icaxis: "Hey, at least we can find a place to rest whenever we want."

"Not at all, the inside of this one isn't completely empty." I make this comment because the trunk seems less hollow, with fewer holes for entry compared to the last one. Heck, I don't see any spot to enter.

I try to look inside for a hole and find one, but it's just big enough for me to fit through. I proceed halfway through and spot something interesting.

"Hey, I see a portal it's an uh... Dungeon!?"

I try to exit, but

*ngh ngh!* my body starts stretching as much as possible.

I got stuck...

*NGH!*

I continue to press further.

"I won't lose to a tre-"

*Plup*

Eh...

I fall to the ground, rolling a few times before stopping.

I Can't help but feel embarrassed. We completely ignored my pitiful display. "The hole is too small. I almost got stuck. Let's make it bigger."

We started widening the opening, but the wood proved to be stronger than regular wood. After five minutes of hard work, we cracked it open enough so everyone could fit in.

Daniel: "According to the system, dungeons have traps and enemies Be careful of anything."

Right, Daniel comes from a place where this fantasy stuff isn't anymore. 

As we enter the dungeon, my eyes meet a sight that resembles a castle from the Victorian era. Everything here, from the faint glow of the candles to the old paints, exudes a sense of monarchy. However, the passage of time has ruined everything leaving only a rusty and old castle.

A golem received us, brandishing his sword against us. I slowed him down, and Daniel easily blocked his attack. The golem looks like a butler. Its core shone like a glimmering gem, quite visible thanks to his fancy design.

I restrain its movement, but it isn't very effective. Daniel just slashes him. His sword barely managed to cut him.

A dark blue aura envelops his sword. Daniel thrusted forward, cutting his core in one slash.

The butler fell, crumbling into pieces, ceasing all of his movement.

We move past the fallen butler going to the staircase, following the only path in this "mansion, castle?"

I noticed it split into different paths as we continued in the hallway.

A Bigger golem stops us before we can even think about what to do.

I tried to do what I always do, but it didn't work this time. He ignored my telekinesis like it didn't exist.

Both Daniel and Winfred's sword strikes barely made a dent.

My mind races; I need to do something. As the energy formed in my horn, Icaxis blew him with a shot, but the bullet just shattered its defense, exposing his core.

The energy in my horn calmed down, stopping completely. The sensation was similar to the light generation yet completely different at the same time.

Then, a laser beam was shot, scorching the golem's core. My horn begins to sparkle again, shooting more beams until the golem crumbles into rubble.

I remark, "Icaxis, next time, shoot them twice. The gold they give should be more than enough."

We start wandering for the labyrinth. The place was filled with traps, which were easy to dodge and evade. Magic is bullshit Compared to swords and all of that stuff.

During our journey, we even stopped to eat. The labyrinth itself became monotonous and boring. I guess it's the best outcome possible. I kept disarming most traps but just pressing in with my telekinesis.

Mental note: if I ever die and reincarnate as a dungeon master, I'll never put labyrinths inside it.

Icaxis yelled out, "Finally, the exit."

A massive door is right in front of us. Adorned with decorations reminiscent of a king's room. There are 2 knight statues beside it. Probably, they are going to move when we get closer.

"Icaxis Shoot the statues."

He hesitates, asking, "What That would be a waste if they aren't."

I insist, "Trust me."

"Both of us are gonna shoot it ok?"

I try to contain the energy in my beam instead of shooting...

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

"NOW"

Both of our shots pointed at his core, but Instead of the statue breaking, his hands blew up and half of his body.

I say with a smirk, "TOLD YA!."

The 2 knights start to move from their spot.

"we'll take care of the one on the left. You guys distract the other one."

Winfred: That thing just survived a shot from both of you..."

Icaxis: "Don't worry. The other golem needed 1 shot from my sniper and a lot of laser beams."

Winfred expresses with concern: "I don't think that's the problem. He managed to react to your attac-"

Suddenly, Winfred is kicked, falling to the floor, groaning in pain from his injury

somehow, the statues managed to look at me menacingly without even having eyes "You know, Now I prefer the slow ones..."

Authors thoughts:

Sorry, I've been procrastinating. I'm quite pathetic, two chapters per week... I'm feeling a bit... slow. Procrastinating more than usual. I'm feeling more sleepy. It's weird I don't know how to explain it I just want to sleep and stay there.

Sorry if this chapter feels quite lacking... I'm feeling lacking, I hope this feeling goes away soon.

Anyways, about Dante's problem with his personality, not much will happen. Just change his way of thinking and behaving. When he gets things like chrysalis, he will become more chaotic and hate teamwork blah, blah

I already have the plot for 10 chapters. Now I need it to make fricking sense oh, and write it down too. He is gonna get a new transformation soon Try to guess what abilities he will get
