Kekkai Genkai Awakens

(POV: Saigetsu Okita)

After the fight with Rouge Ninjas, we started moving towards the Land of rivers, in one day we entered the land of rivers we neared the bandit hideout on our second side mission, as they were not Shinobis so Captain ordered us to clean the hideout fast as possible, so we rushed to eliminate all the bandits.

Entering the hideout, I was killing anyone that came in front of me apparently there were around fifty bandits, I don't know when I will get used to killing but whenever I killed, I felt bad.

I entered a room there I saw a bandit holding a woman with a knife at her neck "Don't come near me or I'll kill her" he said

Closely looking there were, two more men behind that guy that's when I notice the woman her clothes were torn a lot of injuries on her body, she was raped by these men, I saw her eyes it was hollow as if there were no emotions left in her they clearly break her mind, I felt disgusting seeing them I felt anger, I wanted to kill them "Don't move I said I will kill her" the bandit shouted.

'Kill' was all I was thinking and then,

'Swoosh'

I instantly appeared near the bandit and slashed his throat he didn't even get to say anything it was all over in an instant, I was shocked did I just teleported, no I moved at a very fast speed too fast for the current me I just stood there processing what happened, seeing this as an opportunity the two other bandits ran away from there as they were frightened to see me move so fast.

Did I just awaken my kekkai Genkai cause that can explain how I moved so fast maybe I accelerated myself and what is this weird feeling I felt as if I absorbed something when I killed the guy, did I steal time from him it was confusing.

I can only find out after killing someone again I thought as I looked towards the direction where the other two bandits ran I moved and then used the same thing that I used before, accelerating my body it felt natural to use it, I caught up to them and killed the nearest bandit, again I felt the same feeling of absorbing something so that's me stealing time when I killed someone, I remember overseer Dinah(From chapter 1) told me that I could steal time from any living thing so when I kill them I will steal their time but it's a really small amount so that's why they didn't turn into dust or aged when I killed them and I can feel that it is being stored in me but I also don't feel any limitation which means I can steal and store as much as time I want I have to experiment to know more about my powers but for now it's good that I finally awakened my Kekkai Genkai, as I was thinking these I saw the other bandit ran a little far from me.

So I waved some hand seals 'Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu (Double Suicide Decapitation Technique)' using this Jutsu I went inside the ground and appeared just below him and pulled him into the ground immobilizing him only his face was above the ground all of his body was buried I went near him and just like everyone he started begging for his life "Please don't kill me, please...please"

"You know I hate killing, I don't like it"

"Then please don't kill me…please"

"Pretty ironic, isn't it? I don't like killing but I have to kill people to steal time and become strong. You see back in my previous world I used to hate the main characters who couldn't kill"

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"You know those novels and fanfics where the MC wouldn't kill, I used to think that if I ever go there, I would easily kill anyone and everyone but now when I experience it, I don't like it but I have to kill to survive in this world" I bent down and pointed my kunai at the bandit's face.

"Please…please don't kill me"

"I will kill to survive"

'Puchi' I stabbed the kunai right through his eye it cracked his skull I again felt the same thing as I steal his time.

Shit, I forgot about the woman, I forgot to check on her I was so engrossed in my Kekkai Genkai that I totally forgot about her I rushed toward the room I saw her trying to kill herself with the knife "Hey…hey stop!!!" I shouted, she looked at me with the same hollowed eyes.

"Listen I know you have been through a lot I can't even imagine how much you are suffering right now but..."

"What's happening?" it was Aika who entered the room and asked me about the situation as I was going to say something.

"There's nothing left, everything is over they raped me, slaughtered everyone in my village, my family, I don't have anyone left everything's over for me" the woman said

"No not everything's over, you can still give yourself a chance" I said

"What do you even know?" she said

"I know it's crazy coming from a 5-year-old kid but you can start a new life, maybe you can find happiness, there must be someone out there who would love you, care for you, protect you"

The woman just looked at me without saying anything but suddenly she moved the knife and slashed her neck I rushed to stop her but it was too late she died.

Now, why was I trying to save a woman who I have never met in my life, showing sympathy and pity would have been to an extent but so desperate to save her no, I was not seeing her as a stranger I was seeing her as Elen my best friend in my previous life her situation was the same as this woman, in the end, I couldn't save Elen if only I was less ignorant then Elen wouldn't have suffered like that she wouldn't have killed herself, I was too late I couldn't protect her it was the only regret I had from my previous life.

As I was standing there thinking I heard "It was not your fault that she died don't blame yourself Okita" I turned around and saw the captain standing there looking at me I just nodded and went away I needed some time alone.

After that, we started moving, at night we set up our camp for some rest, tomorrow morning we'll reach the Camp I was on the night watch alone sitting near the campfire I was thinking about Elen, when I came to this world I tried to forget about this unpleasant memory from my previous life but now it seems I can't run from my past, sometimes I think can I really become strong like those OP MC's in the fanfic novels or will I die, it's really scary no matter how much I say to myself that I have a cheat ability and I have a lot of knowledge about this world but deep down I still fear, fear of dying, fear of losing people I care, again.

"What are you thinking?" Aika came and sat near the Campfire I was surprised that she was talking to me I mean after our fight we never talk with each other on the whole journey.

"Nothing"

"Are you thinking about that woman?"

"Kind of"

We both didn't speak, ugh…this awkward silence "How come you started talking to me, I thought you were angry at me"

"Sigh…at first I just wanted to scare you to not join us, after losing him I didn't want some newbie that too some immature brat to join us and get us killed" she said

"Good to know that I exceeded your expectation"

She snorted and said "Yeah, you fight well with your weird taijutsu style and can kill and don't whimper like a kid, and from today's event I can say you are mature too"

"You knowing about matureness is pretty hard to accept" I said

"Will you stop making fun of me"

"Don't get me wrong I have an Inuzuka friend his name is Toru and he is quite an annoying idiot and everyone knows how meathead the Inuzuka clan is"

"Humph…I am different from those idiots, and Toru I do know about that kid who lives with his mother quite a talented kid he is, so he was in your class"

"Yeah, he is one of my best friends"

We stopped talking, this awkward silence again I don't know what to talk about now.

"You see I am sorry that I attacked you that day" Aika said

"Apology accepted and I am sorry too, that I made a joke about your relationship"

"Did Ryuu tell you about him?"

"Yeah, I asked him so he told me that you had some sort of relationship with the previous member of the team"

"His name was Masuda Jun he was a civilian ninja so it was pretty hard for him at first, but he passed all the hurdles we were together from our Academy days he and I became Chunin together we both were happy and were quite close, but in the end, he died it was really hard to accept his death I always try to forget all those bad memories but still it's hard" As she said she had tears in her eyes "Sorry I burst out like that"

"No, it's fine but you know you can't just forget it you have to accept it, after all, it's our past again it should be crazy coming from a 5-year-old kid but the past is what makes the present us"

"Hmm…maybe you are right, but how come you are so wise despite being a kid" She asked me honestly, I don't know what to answer her I can't just say that I am from a different world, and whenever I try to act like a kid it never works my acting sucks.

"Who knows maybe I am a 15-year-old teenager occupying a kid's body"

"Heh…a good joke" she said with a chuckle.

The next day both Captain and Ryuu were surprised that I was talking with Aika but they were happy too that we stopped fighting and became friends as it would be good for our teamwork and soon after some time, we reached our destination the army camp near the border between Land of Sand and Land of Rivers.

{AN- Okita's Kekkai Genkai ability is stealing time from his targets, the time gets stockpiled then he uses it to perform different time-related skills like Acceleration where he accelerates his body to move fast, in the future he will learn to Reverse time to heal himself from any injuries, Chrono stasis, Mana Zone which is related to Senjutsu, etc.
