Chapter 4 - Completing The Check

With a determined mind and clear goal, Kotaro accepted multiple quests from the Questing Panel.

The main quest, and the most long-term one, was naturally 'Find A Way To Fix Your Body,' but she also accepted 3 other simpler quests that the system provided.

Mainly, 'Find An Insect To Study' required her to find an insect in the nearby forest that she could try and study to further understand her Insect Affinity.

'Help The Community,' which required her to go around and complete at least 5 basic tasks from other members of the Aburame Clan.

And lastly, 'Meet New People,' which was a quest that required her to get more familiar with this world and the people in it— asking for her to meet at least 10 new people and introduce herself.

These were the simplest quests the system provided, and they were all in line with things she would do and could do; as such, she had no reason to deny easy points.

'What would be the best way to fix my body, though?'

Kotaro pondered about the main quest she had— fixing her body— and was unsure where to begin. 

She could rule out the possibility that she had some sort of birth defect or illness since the system wouldn't ask her to do something she couldn't do right now— instead, it had to be something within her reach.

She decided she would resolve this issue by looking into possible causes at the Clan Library— which was public for members of the Clan to access, and she had access to it previously.

While unlikely, she hoped that she could find records or scrolls relating to mysterious physical conditions, alignments that would hamper growth, or anything along those lines.

But before she did that, she had one more thing to do— checking out the last panel of the system.

The Customization Panel was the last and probably the most important Panel of the system— after all, the system was based around it at its core.

This was the panel where she could spend the points she earned from completing quests to customize herself— gaining new capabilities and more.

With a mental command, she accessed the Customization Panel just like all the others, and this one was very simple.

It had two icons on the screen— one was a paintbrush, while the other was a pen. 

Kotaro mentally clicked on the paintbrush, and the screen instantly expanded into the form of a drawing pad— much like one would see from a drawing tablet or tool— with multiple extra tools to the side.

Eraser, fill bucket, draw, spray, shapes, and even color options.

It was clear that this form of customization was more directed towards her drawing what she wished to alter on her body and granting the changes.

Of course, this wasn't simply physical alterations such as different hair color, height, or the like— no. This allowed her to add things that she could use to enhance her physical body— such as special eyes, bloodlines, and more.

It had to be known— a lot of special abilities in the world of Naruto had to do with the physical body, and this tool can definitely aid her in that.

Unfortunately, she didn't have any points currently to test it out, so instead, she moved on to the other feature— the pen.

Mentally opening the pen— a simple text block appeared before her.

This one was even more simple than the drawing function and very straightforward.

She could type in what she wanted, and the system would customize it for her— this allowed no space for error and allowed her to be extra detailed or creative.

The only issue was— this feature took a little more per customization than the drawing feature did.

The reason was obvious— it allowed her more freedom, and as such, it cost more. Nothing was really free in the world, and Kotaro knew that, so she didn't complain.

She was pleased; the system had been completely checked out, and she had gained a solid understanding of it so far— now she could begin working towards her plans.

The first thing she planned to do was make her way to the Clan's Library; from there, she would look into the issues related to her body.

While on the way to the library, she would talk to anyone she met and see if they needed help— or, at the very least, introduce herself to them.

Nodding her head a little, she stood up and made her way out of her room in the orphanage— having one all to herself due to how few people actually stayed there.

"I'm heading to the Library!"

She yelled as she ran out of the front door— notifying the keeper of the Orphanage that she would be heading out and returning eventually.

This wasn't the first time she had done this— in fact, a lot of the kids were often outside the Orphange's grounds most of the day. This wasn't a big issue because it was located within the Aburame Clan's property— their safety wasn't a problem.

So with that, she set off towards the library.
